We can not say enough wonderful things about Osiris Tours and the owner, Mahmoud. Because of Mahmoud's extensive knowledge of Egypt, we were able to experience the country and its history in the best way possible.
Our guide Khalaf was amazing, he was with us throughout our 2 1/2 week journey and was knowledgable, organized, patient and kind, and best of all treated us as a friend. At our request, he showed us Egypt as a local. We ate at restaurants that were local favorites and walked through neighborhoods and small markets where only locals could be found.
All the people we met from Osiris Tours were professional and kind and went out of their way to be helpful. We are grateful to each and every one of them for making our 25th-anniversary trip to Egypt the trip of a lifetime!

My honest experience? FABULOUS!!!! Don't even think of traveling to Egypt with anyone else. From touchdown to takeoff, they had every detail planned according to what we had previously told them we would like to do. They accommodated everything on our wish list and then some. The planning and coordination was perfect. We never had to wait in line, wait on transportation or even wait on our room to be ready. And the accommodations! Oh my word! I didn't expect "The Four Seasons" hotel in Cairo with a room overlooking the pyramids, I didn't expect a resort in Luxor on the Nile and I didn't expect a river boat cruise with some of the best food you can imagine. Neither did I expect our in country flights to be in business class. But that is exactly what we got.

We also got guides who really knew their business and could answer any question you put to them. But not only were they knowledgeable, but they were personable and fun to be with. Thank you Mahmoud Sultan Fathy and Mahmoud Farah and all of the wonderful drivers!

Thank you Mahmoud Gebril and Ahmed Hamdy for the trip of my life. Honestly folks, I have traveled with some good tour companies, but this one has spoiled me rotten. We got to do so much more than the large tour groups did. We met several people traveling with other groups and they did not get to go to the Valley of the Queens, Valley of the Workers and several other places that we did. They certainly didn't get two camel rides, two motorboat rides and a sailboat ride! Nor did they get to have food and drink in someones home at a Nubian village.

I have learned that you get so much more for your money when you go with a company like this and do the private tour.

Osiris Tours is a great company for arranging a custom tour of Egypt. Mahmoud spent a lot of time talking to us about what we wanted to see and then he designed a custom tour that was perfect. Also, we can't thank our personal tour guide, Ahmed Alsayed, for making the whole trip wonderful!

Start to finish, one of the best experiences my wife, son (12yrs) and I have had together thanks to Osiris tours! Booking was as easy as it gets. Mahmoud Gebril, the owner, was always very quick to respond and was quite easy to work. The execution during the tour itself was terrific. Accommodations were great. We always felt safe and well taken care off. The itinerary Osiris put together and sites visited were all amazing. More than anything though, the Osiris staff in Egypt made our experience. They really stood out. Not only were they knowledgeable, but they were also really friendly and so passionate about their work. Hoteb (Mahmoud), our guide in Aswan and Luxor, was particularly great. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he was just spectacular the way he engaged with our son. In Egypt, the sites alone are enough to make this kind of trip great, but the people at Osiris are what made this trip one we will never forget!

I'm not someone who generally writes reviews, but our trip with Osiris Tours was so outstanding that I feel I need to let other people know that if they're going to Egypt, a trip with Osiris Tours will be an amazing experience.  I honestly believe that because everyone associated with the company has the attitude that the most important thing is the client's satisfaction.  I talked to a number of different tour companies during the start of our planning process, but it was soon clear that Mahmoud, the owner of Osiris, more than any other company I talked to, prioritized us having the best possible trip.  It's personal with him in that he really wants people to learn about and come to love his country.  I started thinking I wanted to do a Nile cruise but after Mahmoud got to know a bit about my wife and I and our interests, suggested not doing a cruise but driving after flying to Aswan from Cairo, where we'd spent the first three days.  And he was right, we were much better off- though others may prefer a cruise, it just wasn't for us.  Our guide was able to arrange for us to be at most sites during times when the groups from the cruises weren't there so we avoided big crowds just about everywhere.  He recommended an extra night in Luxor because of our interest in the historical sites and we're glad we stayed the extra night.  The planning process was smooth and easy but where Osiris really shined was in the execution of the trip itself.  From the minute we landed in Cairo (literally- there was someone to meet us and help us through customs) to the day we departed, when again, there was someone who was with us all the way to the security point, everything ran unbelievably smoothly.  Someone took care of literally everything from getting us through customs to checking into our hotels.  We had a wonderful guide, Islam, who was both extremely knowledgeable and a lot of fun to be around.  We learned about Egypt's history and culture, he had a great sense of humor and was just a pleasure to be around- which was really important considering we spent nine days with him, most days all day long.  As he got to know us he suggested additional things that weren't on the itinerary (and discouraged us from some I asked about but that he didn't think were worthwhile). He even took us to his favorite restaurant in Luxor (where he lives) and which definitely isn't trip advisor certified, but had such great food!  He was there for us always and as with everyone associated with Osiris, truly went above and beyond.  Mahmoud even upgraded our room at the Luxor Nile because I complained about our room at the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan, thinking that a mistake had been made, when in actuality, the mistake had been mine! Everyone associated with Osiris will go to whatever lengths are necessary to ensure that their clients have the best possible experience.  Osiris Tours isn't the cheapest agency out there, but I have no doubt that it's the best.  It was clear from everyone that the most important thing to them was that my wife and I have the best trip possible, and they delivered in every way.

My wife and I are architects who love to travel, but we had never worked with a travel company before. For nearly twenty years we have enjoyed researching and booking trips around the world on our own. When we started discussing a Christmas-New Year’s trip to Egypt and Jordan last October, we quickly realized we did not have the time or knowledge to plan our first trip to the Middle East by ourselves. We reached out to several tour companies for recommendations and quotes.

Mahmoud Gebril from Osiris Tours was the most professional, knowledgeable, and responsive to our interests and requests. In a matter of a day or two Mahmoud had planned a 15-day, privately guided itinerary focused on historic architectural & archeological sites. Every step of the itinerary was planned with care with excellent accommodations every night in every city. A multimodal trip, including planes, cars, a river cruise, a sailboat, horses and camels- we were met by airport handlers who took care of visas and expedited us through immigration, drivers who navigated us through the chaos of Cairo and took us to far-flung archeological sites, and knowledgeable tour guides who shared with us the rich history and culture of their countries. Osiris’s guides were organized, considerate and accommodating, and they made us feel at ease while traveling in these exotic destinations.

It was an itinerary with a full range of experiences. We enjoyed the large number of temples and tombs we visited in Egypt, which are all awe-inspiring for their age, scale and beauty, and Alexandria & Cairo for their vibrant bazaars, soaring mosques, and cafes & restaurants. The Nile cruise was very special as it seemed to slow down time and let us contemplate the river landscape and the visits we made along the way. To top it off, Petra and Wadi Rum were out-of-the-world experiences. We even went into Dead Sea.

We could not have arranged a trip like this on our own. This trip was extraordinary! Our sincere thanks to Mahmoud and everyone at Osiris Tours who made this trip so special!

I'm so glad I booked my Egyptian holiday with Osiris tours! From the very beginning the owner, Mahmoud, took great care to ensure that everything was as I wanted. He also made some suggestions for additions to my tour which I greatly appreciated.

I really want to emphasize that the entire tour had the most incredibly professional, kind and helpful guides, drivers and airport assistants. I always felt very well cared for.

I especially want to recognize my guide, Sayed Helmy Mahmoud, who was with us from Aswan to Luxor. He was very patient and knowledgable. He provided tons of historical information and really made the tombs and temples come alive with his amazing storytelling. If you can request him, I recommend it!

Just finished a 15-day Egypt Total Discovery Trip with Osiris Tours in January, 2020. And what a trip we had!!

One always worries is it safe? Can we communicate since we don’t’ speak Arabic? Will the guides show up on time and how knowledgeable will they be? What about visas and transportation?

We can honestly say with Osiris there are absolutely No Worries because they took care of everything flawlessly. It really helps that Osiris’s owner; Mahmood Gerbil was born in Egypt and was a guide there for many years before relocating to the US. His advice on what to see and what not to do was invaluable!

Landing in Cairo, Osiris’s agent met us right at the gate. The agent took care of visas and we quickly went through immigration and customs. All of the Egyptian officials seemed to know our agent and just waved us on through. Nice late model clean van and driver were waiting for us and whisked away to our 5-star Hotel in Cairo.

We had two different guides, one for the Cairo area, Abeer and one for Luxor/Aswan areas, Mohammed. Each was very knowledgeable in both Egyptian Dynasty history and Egyptian Archaeology.

The entire 15-day trip was precisely laid out and the guide and driver showed up promptly each day to take us to the scheduled attractions. The guide handled all the tickets and keep us on a very comfortable schedule making sure we saw everything.

We interviewed 4 different Egyptian Tour companies. Osiris was the most thorough, promptly responding and provided very personalized service from the owner, Mahmood Gerbil.

Egypt culture is very different that what we are used to. It was so helpful to have Osiris with us every step of the way. Sure took care of all the worries. We just sat back and really enjoyed ourselves.

We absolutely would rate Osiris Tours a solid 5. If you need to select an Egyptian Tour Company you cannot go wrong with Osiris Tours. We gladly give them our highest recommendation.

We had a wonderful time using Osiris Tours for our Egypt trip.Our two guides, Hoteb and Sayed, were excellent and provided great information on the sites both ancient Egyptian and in Cairo. We also enjoyed the beautiful cruise down the Nile from Aswan to Luxor.The hotel accommodations were first rate. We also want to compliment the airport greeters, particularly Mahmoud, and the highly professional drivers. The arrangements overall made for one of the best travel experiences we have had. What an incredible experience! The tour exceeded all of my expectations.

I can’t say enough about how great our trip to Egypt was. From beginning to end one word comes to mind: seamless.
Mahmoud and his team in Egypt (Essam, Mahmoud, Abir and Khalid) we’re top notch and took care of everything from beginning to end. My only regret is not having found Osiris sooner.

I have dreamed of visiting Egypt for a long time. I found Osiris Tours through Zicasso and am so glad I chose them! First, Mahmoud asked to set up a call with my husband and I and he spent an hour getting to know us, how we have traveled and what we were looking for. He designed the perfect two week trip based on our call. It took all the stress off, and we literally showed up in Cairo with our daughter and were taken care of the whole trip. Our guides, Sam and Osama brought Egypt alive for us both historically and culturally. Both were personable and professional and we count then as friends. Mahmoud also suggested Sharm El Sheik as we wanted to Scuba dive and have some relax time at the end of our trip. What a great suggestion, we loved it! Our hotels were all first rate and we were treated so well by everyone we met. I have never felt so welcomed and safe as a tourist in any other country. If you are thinking of traveling to the Middle East, I highly recommend Osiris tours. You won't regret your decision. We are hoping to plan a trip to Turkey and Jordan in the future and will go through Osiris when we do.

I have had a significant interest in Egypt for 40 years. We wanted a trip that let us explore the things I wanted to see and give my wife a full immersion into Egyptian culture and history. We elected to do a private guided tour. The reality is that without the private driver and guide we would have had difficulty traveling from one end of the Nile to the other.

Osiris Tours provided us with an amazing honeymoon in November. From the initial inquiry, founder Mahmoud was extremely responsive. His response rate is impeccable, and I never had to wait more than half a day for a response! He was extremely patient with my constant questions [and trust me, I had a lot of questions]. I let him know what my initial budget was, and he was able to work out everything we wanted within that price. Adding things on or changing things later was no problem and he was very upfront about the costs; he made sure to tailor the trip to exactly what we wanted.

Once we arrived in Egypt, we were met by our airport representative [also named Mahmoud]. He was extremely professional and friendly, getting us through Cairo airport effortlessly! [I would also like to note that our airport representatives in Aswan and Luxor were also extremely friendly and helpful]. Also would like to note that every driver was extremely professional as well and they are amazing to be able to navigate the Egyptian roads! Many things are very different from western countries, but we always felt safe and welcomed!

Our Cairo guide, Sa'id, was extremely knowledgable. He always made sure we had water, even getting us some snacks and pomegranate juice sometimes. He knew all the best photo spots and poses, so we came back home with some amazing photos! I cannot imagine navigating some of the locations in Cairo without a qualified guide- it adds so much more to the experience to have someone there who knows the area and the history.

Our guide in Aswan and Luxor, Hoteb, absolutely made the trip for us. His warm personality made it easy to relax and enjoy the energy of the locations and it felt like was a friend showing us around. He truly went above and beyond to make sure that we were getting everything we wanted out of our time, even making sure we were able to try the local foods we wanted! He took us to a great spot for lunch in Aswan and it was by far our best meal of the trip. He also knew we wanted to try koshari, so though our night was coming to an end, we stopped really quick on the way back to the hotel. He asked us about our family and showed genuine interest in our lives. On our last evening with him, we shared in some more conversation and shisha. We truly feel like we made a friend and we feel that he completely embodies the type of travel experience that Osiris Tours seeks to provide. He was so very helpful, down to every little detail, such as gently reminding us when is appropriate to tip some of the other people with whom we interact. As Americans, we are not accustomed to this particular element and even having done as much research as I possibly could have, I honestly appreciated the honesty, reminders and the help.

All-in-all, all of the Osiris team was always punctual and kind. I would recommend Osiris Tours to everyone, including my family and friends. At the end of the trip, Mahmoud [founder] emailed me to touch base. He was extremely open to feedback and I sincerely appreciate his efforts and guidance. Over the years we have travelled to many places, both domestically within the United States and internationally. Egypt is like no other place we have ever experienced. I highly recommend a visit to Egypt arranged through Osiris Tours.

For more than three decades, my hobby has been researching and detail planning our family’s independent vacations. However, as my husband and I have grown older in recent years (we are both in our early 60’s now), we’ve discovered travelling independently in foreign countries is not our cup of tea, especially if we do not speak the local language. Although I still enjoy researching destinations and developing draft itineraries for our trips, we’ve turned to using tour companies to make all our in country travel arrangements. The problem is, how do I find a reliable, affordable private tour company for the country we are planning to visit? No matter how many reviews I read, I always have a bit of worry regarding whether or not everything will turn out ok. I’m happy to report that working with Osiris Tours resulted in a worry free trip.

I first contacted Osiris Tours in late August 2018 for a planned November 2019 trip to Egypt. Mahmoud Gebril of Osiris Tours took my three week “pie in the sky” proposed Egypt private guided touring itinerary (which included Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, and Aswan) and turned it into a seamlessly smooth once in a lifetime adventure in an exotic land. Mahmoud made numerous recommendations for improvements to my proposed itinerary; I am so very grateful I trusted in his judgment based upon his real world in-country experience rather than insisting on an activity / accommodation I happened to have read about in a travel book or on a website. Mahmoud was even able to add an activity to our itinerary in mid October 2019 just a couple weeks prior to our November 2nd departure.

During our travels in Egypt, Mahmoud and his colleagues not only met my very high expectations, but completely exceeded them! (You have no idea how rare of a thing it is for me to say something has “exceeded my expectations”. I NEVER use that phrase.) My mind has been blown. Our guide Khalaf was wonderful. He never lost his patience with me, regardless how many times I asked him to explain (one more time!) the difference between NeferTITI and NerferTARI, or how many times I needed to find a “rest area facility”. Our hotel accommodations went WAY above and beyond anything I would have arranged for us on my own. We were really spoiled by the hotels Mahmoud booked for us.

Before traveling to Egypt, I thought climbing in the Great Pyramid and seeing the inside of King Tut’s tomb would be the highlights of our trip. But the reality of Egypt is so much more than just these two things. These two things were simply the starting point for an adventurous journey more overwhelmingly wondrously awesome than we ever could have imagined. I don’t understand how it was even possible that each successive day of our trip seemed better than the previous day! I almost cried when it was time to return home. We hope to return to Egypt again some day in the future after the Grand Egyptian Museum is fully completed and officially open for tourist visitors. Maybe for our 45th wedding anniversary in 2024 perhaps?

Regarding safety, there was never a time when I felt unsafe, but then we never ventured out on our own without our guide (ok, maybe we were a bit nervous to be on our own in a foreign country where we didn’t speak the language). And I must admit that the chaotic Cairo traffic, the ubiquitous police/military presence, and the bag x-ray machines / metal detectors were all a bit disconcerting. But according to the Gun Violence Archive mass-shooting reports, there were 27 separate mass shootings across 15 different states in the United States during our 24 days away from home (November 2nd through 25th, 2019), so where should I feel safer? Shopping at my local Wal-Mart? or being driven through the streets of Cairo, past the numerous villages between Luxor and Aswan, or across the desert from Aswan to Abu Simbel? Sometimes I think travelling internationally with a private driver and guide is the safest thing I do. Don’t let fear stop you from visiting such a fascinating place as Egypt.

Every detail was taken care of from the moment we arrived in Cairo at 3:30 am and were greeted by a cheerful airport guide who had our visas ready for our passports. The hotels were lovely and our guide wonderful. Seeing the pyramids and the other ancient sites in Egypt was a lifelong dream and Osiris made the dream come true.
