Weekend workshop

I attended one of the weekend workshops and had a fantastic time. A supportive learning environment with skilled, patient teachers. I can't speak highly enough about them.

Excellent food! We were fed well, with some of the tastiest lunches I've had in a long time. The food is healthy, filling and delicious.

The location is amazing, in a rural setting off the beaten track. We were greeted by a fox on arrival! It's about an hour walk into Kilfenora, over lovely quiet roads. We met one car and two hares.

This is a great place to learn, meet cool people and enjoy the setting.

Thanks for taking part and sharing your experience Joan! We're glad you had such an enjoyable time. The hares are quite astoundingly large eh!

Exactly the type of course I needed

This was exactly the type of course i needed to get me started with welding after years of not knowing where to start on a project i wanted to do at home, even after watching dozens of YouTube videos.

The two teachers have huge experience and a practical teaching style. Halfway through the first day i finally understood the welding proces.

At the end of the two days I had learned so much from basic fabrication, cutting, grinding, creating jigs, welding parts together etc I can now practice at home myself and i am comfortable using angle grinders etc

The pace of the 2 days suited me and nothing was forced or rushed.

The food was amazing both days and the Common Knowledge team on site were really good too, present and attentive to all the people there to learn even though they have a huge amount of work on themselves.

I didn't know what to expect but the whole experience was very good value for what I got from it and will be looking to book on other courses in the coming years.

The potential for the new site is huge so buying it is a no brainer.

Skilled, generous, supportive learning

Skilled, insightful and generous teachers that expertly guided a group of learners through concepts and practicalities of home-making during the course. The learning by listening / sharing in the reflective workshops was really well balanced with learning by doing (building a mezzanine, a ladder, a sofa bed...) our group developed genuine friendships in a special way. The experience was far more than the sum of its parts and completely surpassed any expectations I had.
