As an outdoor professional this was my go-to app. Over the last few months, its been one problem after another. Website fails, unable to upload routes, etc. When you raise an issue customer Service doesn't exist. I have moved my business to the OS Maps, which operates without no issues.

Great shame that the best product on the market has been destroyed.

Was a great app but OS maps not working now

Was a great app but this year my OS Unlimited subscription stopped working and all I get now is a screen asking me for an extra £29-99 even tho I have paid £19-99 for this year. I have emailed them twice and no response. Really sad that this once great app has gone to the dogs. I have all my walks and fishing marks stored on it so really angry about this.

Very disappointed old customer

Having used this app for years on an iPhone and loving it and recommending it - after a minor glitch I deleted it and reinstalled it requiring me to reset my password. NIGHTMARE - can’t and the support is unbelievably slow /lacking and has not solved the problem. So disheartening and a shame.

Please repair UPGRADE

I have used this superb app for many years on myiphones/ipads. Since the recent "UPGRADE" and a new iphone, I cannot search succesfully for any of my previously saved routes, and I cannot download any new routes created on laptop to my phone. Same applies to my ipad because I stupidly updated the app on it. My wife's iphone, and ipad, without the upgrade, still does everything, including showing all previous routes. The problem is obviously with the upgrade. After being very helpful for a while, Outdoors has now stopped replying to me.

Have to say since using Outdoors Gps on my Android phone since last September my use of it is in stark contrast to many reviewers on here. The app has worked flawlessly on my Google Pixel 6 phone and after reading most of the many 1 star reviews I just wonder if it's an Apple thing? Be interesting to see if any other Android users have had issues!

Loved using this app when it worked but recently the app sopped working,
It just won’t open. I’ve tried all the obvious things, re down loading , hard reboots etc. have now emailed for support four times with no reply. Really disappointed. I have a lot of maps and routes on there I can no longer use ☹️
************************************************
On further investigation, I am using an IPhone 13. As well as the apps on the home pages, there is an App Library which duplicates apps on the home page. I found that although I had deleted the app from home page and settings it still existed in the App Library. Once I had deleted it there and reinstalled, BINGO! back on line. But still no assistance from the support team who seem to live in a deep dark hole somewhere 🙄

App won’t open! UPDATED!!

11/4/23 UPDATE!!
On the first working day after emailing Outdoors GPS they have replied and advised me to uninstall/reinstall the App to solve this non opening problem. Yippee! Yes, it’s worked.
I had saved all my walks on line - I hope! So my list of walks are still there.
You do have to download your needed maps again though but that was easy enough.
And unless I’m mistaken, the chronological date order seems almost correct! Woo hoo!!
Thank you Saskia!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I’ve always loved this App for years and it knocks spots off others I’ve been forced to try over this Easter weekend as I’ve had the same issue as others - it won’t open on either of my iPhones updated to iOS 16.4.1 but does work on my old iPad with iOS 12! I also tried rebooting etc but I thought it must be to do with the new iOS as it won’t work on both my new and old iPhones. I may be premature giving a low score as they’ve always been good at communicating in my experience. I pray I shall hear back very soon as I’ve just renewed my subscription at the end of March. It’s certainly caused a lot of challenges walking without it yesterday & today! Please God it will get sorted quickly!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

This is a really good app

Despite the recent bad reviews this is a good app. I have used it for fifteen months and contacted support on three or four occasions and received a response each time. I also experienced the “crash on opening” bug and reported it. It has now been fixed it took three days but that is what happens in the real world.
As for the app itself it is delightfully simple and uncluttered by links to social media and that sort of clap trap. Serious walkers will love it. The Ordnance Survey mapping works well and the maps are quick to download. You can plot a route directly onto a smart phone or use the desktop app. Oddly the desktop version does not show Mile markers when using OS maps but they do show on the mobile phone version.
The phone app will not direct you along a route you need to look at the screen and follow the route but the gps location icon shows you your direction of travel and so that is not an issue.
I have used three or four other apps but this always wins out for being clear and simple.
You can import and export routes but unfortunately it does not record time of day or elapsed time in the GPS trace of a recorded walk. This is unfortunate because such recordings are not recognised by other apps. This means you cannot use a trace of your walk to locate photos by their time stamp. The workaround is to take regular pictures on you iPhone which will record your location

Stopped working, no support, AVOID

Used the iOS version of this app for many years (paying c£20 per annum) in addition to numerous map purchases in the early days. It's been my go to navigation tool and I've recommended to numerous friends and family (all subscribers). Had a few glitches over the years but it's now totally stopped working (as others have reported on the iTunes App store, almost certainly due to not working with latest iOS upgrade). I recognize that sometimes software sometimes has these challenges, however there seems to be little or no support and as others have reported no response to support requests online. Given that this is a) probably the most expensive app people will buy and b) the reliance that many have on it for navigation (yes paper map back-up but not the point), this is simply not good enough. Suggest avoid until they resolve this issue as well as their general attitude to fee paying customers.

I purchased this app for a walking holiday.

I purchased this app for a walking holiday in the Peak District. It was recommended by a friend who does a lot of walking. The app worked fine for our time on holiday. I tried to open the app this morning on my iPhone and iPad and it crashed immediately. I am running the latest IOS 16.4 on both devices. I have also tried removing and replacing the app to no avail. After reading the reviews I have cancelled my subscription and asked for a refund.

Cancelling my subscription due to poor support - simple password reset, and no responses received following first failed attempts. Very disappointing, but luckily there are plenty of other great options available.

I can see the dismal reviews and was wary of asking the company to address my issue.
Essentially, I have used the system for several years both on desktop and iPhone. It worked for me.
Today I noted that the app was fine but the PC version was showing no renewal. In spite of my having renewed via Apple last month.
I mailed my problem via the app and then anticipated a non-response and ongoing problems.
A response arrived a few hours later and the issue has been resolved.
This is only my short experience but I have to say that I am entirely happy.

Don't buy

This app worked brilliantly but briefly for about 6 months. Loved it. They would have had me as customer for life. But it packed in. Contacted them and their customer services is dire. Don't answer questions, don't reply. I said £20.00 on offer for this so don't feel too bad. A shame though as I was reccomending this to everyone. Now it's a don't buy

These guys are a bunch of wasters

These guys are a bunch of wasters, taking your money and then offering no support when things go wrong. I have just written to them for about the tenth time about my routes which are not uploading to the website, so that I cannot view or edit them on my phone. They do not reply to your emails. Only one of my many routes has uploaded from my phone in the last six weeks. I am a premium subscriber and pay for GB Ordnance Survey 1:25000 maps - even they were unavailable on the website for about ten days recently. Warning!!! Do not give them your money!!

This app was perfect for my needs up until now, but I have found a better alternative that actually works. I have switched to the Ordnance Survey app and would recommend anyone else to do the same.

A note to OutDoors GPS: this review is entirely your fault and you only have yourself to blame.
