Own a hair of the horses tail.

If you purchase one share you may only own a hair of the horses tail. It's embarrassing watching those people walking around in the owners group scarves etc., and going nuts if the horse wins claiming on tv to be owners. The horses are only elite racing clubs rejects.

Owners’ Group Syndicate

Owners’ Group is well run, with the monthly magazine alone almost worth the price of one of their shares. Your horse will be trained by top trainers and ridden by top jockeys, something most shareholders could never dream of. You may only own a whisker of the horse but you feel like it’s yours.
You get weekly updates, chances to attend stable visits and sometimes an owner’s badge when your horse runs. You get a proportionate share of any winnings but most of all the welfare of the horse comes first with suitable vetted homes being found for all the retired horses when they are ready.
I have been a shareholder in Owners’ Group horses both flat and National Hunt for about 10 years now so I am writing this review with plenty of experience of the company.

Would like more say in who should train our horses. But I’m otherwise happy with the service. If you’re buying shares to make a profit instantly, dont. This is long term and should be a hobby for you. I do this instead of gambling. I have several horses now and enjoy watching their journey.

Affordable Involvement

I get the involvement in National Hunt Racing that I want at a price that I can afford. Owners Group select good horses and good trainers and get way above average results. The communication is exceptional.

We persist with certain trainers whose strike rate with our horses is not good enough Also we appear to be encountering to many horses who don't last very long regards racecourse appearances for various reasons may be because we have too many NH stock?
After their last runs I suggest we retire Golden Duke and Beraz and find them good homes

Please give "owners" an opportunity to ask open questions and make constructive suggestionshe latest magazines (Sept…

Just read the latest magazines (Sept and Aug) and its amazing how many "owners' " letters start with "thank you, thanks, congratulations ......." or some other praiseworthy word/s. Not many letters that offer constructive criticism or even express discontentment appear to get to print. It really isn't surprising given this group appears to try and avoid any opportunity for owners to air their views openly. I do get that a lot of people are quite happy to donate their money and maybe have more interest in the welfare of their horses above anything else but i also believe there maybe a few other owners who are slightly disappointed with how their "donations" are being utilised. I doubt i will get a response from the owners group but if they read this i challenge them to let open comments be posted on their website and video postings. For example - i have now read basically the same report on all my horses recent races - wrong distance, slowly away, used up too much energy to recover position, jockey left the horse too much to do, needs cut in the ground ........... It appears there is no learning applied and the same mistakes keep being made. If that's not the case, then at least let us ask the question openly and you can provide an answer.
Whinge over and I promise nothing but constructive questions/ comments.

Great experience

I've been involved with Owners Group since 2018, and have had a great experience of owning a small part of several super race horses.
Some have been super stars, others not so. But wether winning Grade one races at Cheltenham or a Class 6 at Southwell.
Or just trying they're best, they make me feel very proud indeed!
I just enjoy the journey and I've had some memorable days at the races, watching my horses perform.
Yes of course things don't always go to plan. But these are animals not machines!
So if you think you are going to win you're fortune, this is not for you!!
The welfare of the horses always comes first to Owners Group.
I'm very happy with my involvement with Owners Group!

Superb value for money

Absolutely superb value for money for around £1 a week to have a small share in a racehorse for a year with a top trainer.
Anyone who thinks they're going to make money from owning a racehorse is naive, but if you treat it as a bit of fun and an interesting hobby, you'll enjoy the experience and learn a lot about the challenges, patience and planning that goes into preparing racehorses for competition.
The regular updates, videos and pre-race and post-race interviews with jockeys and trainers provided by the Owners Group team are top class and help take you into the heart of the action.
Worth remembering that it costs around £25k a year to have a horse in training, not including the purchase price of the horse, as a comparison.
As a former newspaper racing editor who has had 1/20th shares in horses in the past, I really can't recommend Owners Group highly enough at a fraction of the price.

Real review...Don't bother really don't…

Real review...Don't bother really don't bother you get absolutely nothing out of it..They choose who goes to racing no ballot..You have no connection to owners group at all. Like sponsorship a snow leopard no chance of meeting it...throw your money away if buying a share.

I rang them to cancel my membership

I rang them to cancel my membership, I was owed £18 from my account.
The lady on the phone said, no problem I'll sort that out, and I will put a cheque in the post.
3 weeks later, no cheque . I rang again today, another person said, well she has done nothing about your account, so I will put your cheque in the post today.
My point is, it's only £18 , but it's a shoddy way to treat a customer, poor service. Don't get involved with them, a few people at owners group are making good money off the investment of thousands of people.

Like most of the other comments

Like most of the other comments, I can say honestly that this is nothing more than a money making operation for the people in the know.
The send you fancy "updates & videos" but will never tell you anything close to the truth about how your horse will run. Vague comments like "We hope he/she will run well, we expect a good performance" etc.. Yet the betting always tells a different story. I've seen horses drift out from 3/1-7/2 to double figures in hours when they tell you they are hoping for a good run and a "value price is 3/1" and end up running like it has 3 legs numerous times. Then, send an email telling you how disappointing they are and blame this that and the other.
My horse for a year, (they interviewed the assistant trainer, once and only time) Who said "He works so well with our top milers at home we might try him over that distance. Every other report (by the trainer herself) never mentions it again for a year where it has run over 1m4f and a stiff 1m2f and obviously not staying the trip or not at his best at the trip. When she finally does mention maybe trying a 1m trip 1yr later (this year) 3 races in and we are still running over 1m4f -1m2f??? And reporting before the race they are hopeful.
Just another syndicate, but being more mainstream and known with the same results of the plethora of others that take your money to pay for THEIR horses.
AVOID.
