Absolutely do not rent from Panek at Wrocław Airport – they will try to charge you for anything they can.

I rented a car from Panek at Wrocław Airport and unfortunately I have to share a very negative experience. The whole process was far from professional, and the final outcome was extremely unpleasant.

The customer service at the counter was terrible. The employee barely spoke, simply handed over the keys, and pointed towards the parking area without any explanation. When I got to the car, I was immediately disappointed – the vehicle was dirty. The windows were foggy on the inside, and the front windshield had marks and residue from a navigation device. On the outside, I noticed several scratches, which I documented with photos right away.

When returning the car at 4 a.m., after the office was already closed, I took additional photos in the parking lot. I had to park in a spot belonging to a neighboring company because all Panek spaces were taken.

Then came the worst part. I received a report claiming the car was damaged and returned dirty, and I was charged 1000 PLN. The supposed scratch identified by Panek’s “experts” was said to be at the front of the car. Yet in their own photos it clearly appears on the side of the vehicle and is only about 5 cm long. I am certain I did not cause it.

As for the “dirty” condition – the car drove about 500 km. I returned it at 4 a.m. Where was I supposed to find a car wash at that time? Normal signs of use should be included in the rental cost.

In my opinion, Panek is clearly trying to charge customers unfairly, taking advantage of nighttime returns and unclear reports. I absolutely do not recommend renting a car from this company. Avoid them at all costs.

Stay away from Panek

Stay away – especially if you're from England.
Today I arrived at Gdańsk Airport and there was nobody at the desk. I called them, and after a while, someone finally showed up. After giving all my personal information, the attendant called his boss and was advised to charge me an extra £600 because I am not an EU citizen. They claimed I needed an international driving permit in addition to my UK licence and passport.
I walked away and got a car from Europcar at the kiosk on the side. No other rental company had such a rule in place – they are scammers. Please stay away and don’t be fooled by the cheap prices.
I will be getting in touch with Booking.com, as this company is ripping people off.

even 1 star is too much

I would give 0 if this option was available.
I use booking website to get car from them with payment made upfront. Showed up for pic up and I was told that I need to pay another 150PLN to get the car or I can go somewhere else. No manager on site, no helpline, no willingness to help from staff.
Upon return I was charged for returning dirty car. I used cat twice go get from airport to hometown and back. I was only car user and driver.

Scammers

They made me purchase the most expensive insurance, which covered everything. They said they wouldn’t rent me a car otherwise because I have a British driving licence. Later, I accidentally scratched the door but didn’t think it was a big issue—luckily, I had full coverage insurance. However, two months later, they charged my credit card £1,600. When I contacted them, they claimed my insurance was no longer valid because I didn’t report the accident to the police.

Be very weary that when you Cleaned Out!

Be very weary that when you collect the Car they will not explain to you that you require to return the Car Spotless inside and out. So even if you are on Holiday in a foreign country you are expected to spend your time either looking for Car wash or to half a day cleaning the car yourself.
Of course you could also have the privilege of paying even more money to the company to clean the car for you.
Its a hire car it should be included in the rental cost!!!!!!!!!!

Stay away! Deposit scam!!!

Stay away, please don’t risk your money and your health! We have rented a car in Kaunas, Lithuania, on pick up it was dirty and smelled like cigarettes inside, but we are the type of people that don’t like cause a fuss, so we just took it! On return, a month and a half later the whole deposit was taken from our credit card, no explanation. After querying, we are not getting told it’s for speeding, which is absolute nonsense! They emailed some shady pdf attachment claiming it’s ‘evidence’. Stay away from this company!! Scammers is not the word!

Rented car for few days from Vilnius

Rented car for few days from Vilnius. Everything started when I came to rent desk. On my emails they show I have to pay about 50euros for rent but they added another 50 for collecting off out of hours. So it cost me extra 50 but that’s not so bad. After one month car was returned they charged my credit cad without my permission 1200 euros for increased dangerous driving(speeding). They argue with GPS copy what is completely crap. I complained to my bank as scam and asked help from solicitors, it cost my money. After few months finally received back my money with extra costs for me and received email from Panek they put me on black and I can’t rent car from them. Don’t rent car from them completely scam.

Kaunas Airport Car Hire

Kaunas Airport Car Hire - Don’t Get Scammed!

As tempting as it may be to go with the cheapest option offered by Panek or Greenmotion - Stop! Don’t let them steal your money! Take a few minutes to read customer reviews on these two firms first and then make an informed decision.

I’m surprised that they have not been investigated and shut down for what can only be described as a scam.

Greenmotion and Panek are both advertised on Skyscanner as Kaunas Airport car hire firms, but both are located just outside the airport perimeter, a 10-minute walk from the terminal. If you have booked your car using one of these firms and your flight is delayed, be warned - Panek and Greenmotion will only hold your reservation for 59 minutes. Regardless of providing your flight details at the time of booking, if you’re lucky, you will be given the following options:

1. Pay €100 to re-reserve the same car (this option is only sometimes available if the car you reserved is still available).
2. Pay for a new reservation at a much higher price, in addition to losing the originally paid fee. (A 7-day hire in December 2024 came to €360 when the original Skyscanner brokered price was €80).
3. Hire a car from a different firm.

Having advised Panek that my flight details were provided at the time of booking, Panek claimed that due to data protection regulations, they are not passed the customer’s flight details by the broker. However, after discussing this matter with the broker, I have been assured that this information is not true. Brokers will always pass on the main driver’s details and flight information.

Having checked, I advised Panek that I could make a new reservation for the same period with them for less than €100 using Skyscanner. Panek’s representative advised me that due to my holding a UK driver’s license, unless I also have an “International Driving Permit” (issued by the UK Post Office), I would be unable to collect the car if I book through a Skyscanner broker. However, if I purchased the car hire with them directly (at €360), the permit would not be required. The rep from Greenmotion interrupted, stating that they could provide a car for €450.

Please be aware, if you hold a UK driver’s license, an international driving permit is not required to drive in the EU or EEA. This is confirmed in the small print on Panek’s terms and conditions and your car rental voucher.

I’ve had similar experiences with Greenmotion, who happen to share the same customer service counter with Panek. The representatives of both firms at Kaunas Airport behave in the same way, and it comes across as if they are competing to see how much they can rip off customers with additional charges. In the 45 minutes it took me to try and resolve this matter, by my calculation, Panek and Greenmotion collectively charged clients an additional £600 in unexpected charges - all of which clients disputed but ended up paying. Having flown to Vilnius Airport and hired a car from Greenmotion, the same appears to apply there. These two firms are clearly badly managed from top down.

In the end, I refused to pay Panek the additional charges. Instead, I asked a friend to give me a lift to my hotel, contacted my broker for a full refund, and asked them to rebook my car with Enterprise car rental. Enterprise was almost double the price (at €160 for 7 days), but their service was great, no hidden fees and located 2 minutes outside the airport terminal.

If you’ve been scammed by Greenmotion or Panek, contact your broker to have them removed from their comparison site and get your money back. Write a review so others don’t make the same mistake and, most importantly, don’t fund their fraudulent activity - just use someone else.

Charged for existing damage

Charged for existing damage. Do not order from PANEK
Besides terrible service, Panek charges you for damage that was present before pickup. I have read similar reviews, and I can confirm their fraudulent practices. Luckily I have a photo that shows that the minor damages were present already, and I won’t let myself be robbed by them. Panek doesn’t respond and there is zero transparency. Legal actions are required to make this company accountable. I was additionally charged around $1500 for full insurance. The wiiiper not working eithers. The company cheating and use forgien people to charging them.

Kaunas Airport

Panek Kaunas Airport
Kaunas Airport, Lithuania: A Disappointing Rental Car Experience with panek

My rental car experience at Kaunas Airport was profoundly unsatisfactory. Despite the car being relatively new, I strongly advise against renting from this establishment.

I was charged an excessive fee of €300 for chemical cleaning, despite the car being returned in pristine condition. I had only used the car for three days and had been the sole occupant during the entire duration, as it was a business trip from point A to point B.

Furthermore, my interaction with customer service was extremely poor.

Rip of service

Will not recommend this car rental in Kaunas Airport. First of all there's charge of 200 eur applying if you want travel outside Lithuania and the car is registered in Poland and for example you travelling to Poland with polish registered car and you have to pay fee of 200eur on top of what you paid for car. They charge 350 for chemical cleaning of small sot where in most places average price is not more than 100 for full car. Communion is very pore. Return emails are written in very rude manner. Definitely 100%no

Avoid panek

Avoid - panek kaunas and oanek vilnius, read reviews elsewhere, loads of unhappy customers, they lure you with low price then start adding additional fees which were not in the original agreement, misselling, mislabelling and misleading the clients, in simple words i believe that is classed as fraud. Use alternatives save yourself the headache
