17-year client with 200 domains ignored for weeks: Deteriorating support and uncompetitive pricing
I have been a customer with Papaki since 2009 and currently manage a portfolio of 200 active domains on their platform. Over the past few years, there has been a steady increase in renewal fees alongside a severe decline in customer support quality.
On July 20th, I submitted a support ticket to request a commercial pricing review for my 200 domains, as competitor rates in Greece are now significantly lower. After waiting 17 calendar days without a single reply or acknowledgment, I posted a follow-up on August 6th. More than 24 hours later, there is still total radio silence.
Leaving a 17-year client with a 200-domain portfolio ignored for nearly three weeks speaks volumes about Papaki’s current operational standards and customer retention priorities. The higher pricing they charge is no longer backed by premium service or basic responsiveness.
They also redesigned the "Client Area" recently but made it more difficult to use. The old design was more modern, intuitive, and easier to use.
If you are a business or portfolio owner seeking competitive bulk pricing and reliable customer service, I recommend looking elsewhere. I am now actively transferring my entire 200-domain portfolio to alternative registrars. Papaki was reliable and price-competitive in the past, but since "Team Blue" took over, sadly, it's become an overpriced and unreliable partner.
extremely bad customer service
"Customer service is dreadful
"Customer service is dreadful; they keep you waiting for hours on the phone, and the ticket system doesn't work either. This never used to be the case, and it's very disappointing, especially as we've been with them for more than five years now. I'm afraid it's time to move on. Even the online chat doesn't work; they just redirect you to the ticket system. Very disappointing."
Professionalism!!!

Excellent Professional Support with Genuine Social Sensitivity
I have trusted them since 2009, and they have offered professional support throughout all these years. Always polite, respectful, and guided by genuine social sensitivity. I highly recommend them!
No friction in the journey

Excellent services and support.
Doesn't renew domain for a month
Doesn't renew domain for a month. Updated credit card twice. No response to my ticket. Chat window closes when I am #1 in queue. Website needs incognito window to login. What else do you want me to say?
Terrible new UI and non-existent customer service
The latest update took everything user-friendly about Papaki and ruined it. It is blatantly obvious they didn't consult a UI/UX designer for the new interface—it’s clunky, confusing, and looks like it was designed solely by backend coders.
On top of the terrible design update, you can't even get help when you need it. I sat on live chat for over an hour with absolutely no reply. I’m currently looking into moving all my domains and hosting away from them. Proceed with caution.
Very bad experience
Terrible customer service. You should definitely avoid them. Ever since Team Blue acquired Papaki, things have gotten significantly worse
Reliable hosting solutions with strong support
We have been using their web hosting solutions for about 6 years and we have received great support and platform stability.
Critical Downtime and Extremely Poor Escalation Handling
We have been customers of Papaki for a long time, but unfortunately our recent experience caused serious disruption to our business and was handled very poorly.
For around one week, our production platform was experiencing continuous 500 and 502 server errors. During this time:
- users could not log in properly,
- lead forms and business operations were disrupted,
- paid advertising campaigns continued running while conversions were lost,
- and our team spent countless hours trying to investigate the issue.
From the beginning, support repeatedly insisted that the issue was related only to our application setup (WPML, redirects, caching etc.) and not to the hosting environment.
However, after exhausting almost every possible troubleshooting scenario together with our developer, we specifically asked Papaki to re-check the PHP memory limit configuration because we remembered that approximately 9 months earlier we had already requested a permanent increase for the exact same plugin (WPML) and similar instability issues.
At that time, the memory limit had been increased for our environment. What was never communicated to us, however, was that this increase was apparently temporary and would later be reverted without any notification.
After we insisted on testing this again, Papaki increased the memory limit back to 768MB.
Immediately after this change:
- the platform became stable again,
- the login issues disappeared,
- repeated tests worked normally,
- and the 500/502 errors stopped.
This happened instantly after the memory adjustment.
Despite this, support still avoided clearly acknowledging the role that the reverted memory configuration played in the outage and continued trying to attribute the issue mainly to the application itself.
What we found most frustrating was:
- the lack of transparency,
- the fact that such an important configuration change was reverted without notification,
- the amount of time lost investigating an issue that ultimately stopped as soon as the memory limit was restored,
- and the overall handling of a very serious production incident affecting a real business.
To be clear: WPML is a very widely used multilingual WordPress plugin and its higher memory requirements are publicly documented everywhere online. We were not dealing with some unknown or rare technical situation.
While the platform is currently stable after the changes were applied again, the financial and operational impact caused during that period was significant and could have been avoided much earlier.
I sincerely hope Papaki improves both its technical escalation process and its communication with business customers in the future.
