ANIMAL ABUSE

In September I was at the Parador de La Gomera and I had to go to the Civil Guard barracks to show them videos and photos of the unfortunate state of the parrots that are caged in a tiny enclosure. Seprona appeared. The water was really disgusting, with clear evidence of accumulating filth from days ago and there was no food at all. THAT IS ANIMAL ABUSE.

On the other hand, the guy at the front desk was constantly not telling the truth. He told me that they gave him fruit one night… and the next he told me that they never gave him any. He also told me that the one who gives them food arrives at ten, something that is not true since I was able to speak with another receptionist (an older man) the next day and he denied it. Also, he told me that a German lady had complained the week before…. And that before there was a parrot and that it had just died (I don't want to know under what circumstances...).

Faced with such terrible abandonment and mistreatment, I went to a supermarket to buy apples from them.

I have filed a claim since it was evident that they were going to continue with the mistreatment.

I hope that they will be placed in a much larger space than the one they now have, that they will be taken to the vet and that they will be given bathtubs and water to drink as well as healthy food (not just sunflower seeds, which is surely what they are given when they remember to feed them). ….) and fruit.

I have proof since I have photos and videos, so any reply indicating that they take care of them correctly is too much and shows a clear lack of truth.

It is unfortunate that they have these poor birds in that situation and the image that Paradores gives.

Paradoresofspain.com posing as a page from Paradores

I booked a room in Ronda's parador hotel through this site... through the whole booking experience and up to the week of the trip, we thought we were in a page belonging to the spanish paradores network (they use the right logos, etc)... but it does not.
This is one of several changing names of spainluxuryinns.com. This is an agency.
And it has a misleading cancellation policy.
We needed to cancel one of two double rooms due to corona. And the parador could not cancel it for us because it was booked through an agency.
Contacting the agency was tricky, no phone numbers, no direct communication option, only send an email and pray. The answer arrived two days later: Despite the fact that up to the day before the reservation they promised we could cancel and pay only a part of the original reservation, they could not proceed to keep one room and cancel the other (because they are not the hotel itself). They claimed that they could only cancel all and rebook one room, which at this point would be more expensive that the original two rooms.
Well, how is that my problem? It is their cancellation policy (it was not, they cheekily copied that of the parador itself). In the end we could not do it as we felt captive of the deal, the other couple was on the way to Ronda! And we paid the whole price for two rooms, that is we were scammed out of the promised cancellation pollicy.

So beware, "paradoresofspain.com" is NOT a web page of the Spanish paradores network. And although the booking and price were legit, it has several disadvantages.
