This company used my work to submit to its client just to ensure timely delivery and meet deadlines. After that, they emailed me saying my contract was terminated and my payment was withheld. From what I’ve seen, this same situation has happened to hundreds of contractors.

After receiving the termination notice, I reached out to the CEO, Phoebe Yao. I am quoting exactly what she wrote back to me:

“Oh yea that's no good. Well we can see based on the quality if we used your work i think it's fair to compensate.”

I am 100% certain they used my work and delivered it to their client, yet they still didn’t pay me. When I tried contacting the CEO again, she told me to reach out to one of her employees instead. She avoided everything she had previously said to me.

If you’ve experienced the same, don’t stay silent, let the world know what happened to you.

They hire remote contractors who are mostly non-US based, and their contract requires any disputes to be handled under U.S. legislation. They clearly take advantage of the fact that most contractors outside the U.S. cannot realistically fight back. They can silently withhold your hard-earned money. Payments are also consistently delayed for weeks even though they promise weekly payouts. There are always excuses, such as “QA is taking longer than expected” or “issues with the payment method,” etc.

I'm publicly documenting my experience as a contractor with Pareto.AI for other professionals to reference.
Timeline:

Tuesday: Promised payment 'Friday at the latest'
Completed all work under payment urgency pressure
Friday 4:35pm: Corporate deflection, no payment, now impossible until Monday due to ACH processing

Issues:

Systematic payment manipulation (using payment urgency to extract work, then delaying payment)
Breaking documented commitments to contractors
Cutting contractor access before processing payment
Corporate gaslighting when confronted with timeline violations

This contradicts your public positioning as an 'ethical AI platform' and 'talent-first' company. The documentation of these practices is being shared with industry partners and regulatory bodies for review.
Other contractors should be aware of these systematic payment issues when considering work with Pareto.AI.
Professional reputation in the AI industry depends on honoring commitments to the contractors who enable your business model."

LIES! LIES! LIES!

They advertise their service as a PER MONTH subscription when in actuality they lock you in for a whole year!

It means you'll be billed for the full price instead of a one-time only bill. This is scam in all but name!

As someone who was actually interested in their offers, I'll be forced to leave a REAL, LIVE review - a negative one at that!

Don't trust all the positive reviews: they're all fake.

Pareto is a great company to work for as a part time gig. There are opportunities for full-time too, if you have the skills to complete many different projects. The company culture is great and compensation is competitive, per project basis. I wholly recommend them, if you are interested in participating in helping create new and cutting edge AI models.
