After 8 months parmco oven stopped on Chistmas

After 8 months , on Christmas day, the parmco ven stopped heating. The lights were on , the fan whirring, giving the impression it was cooking our Christmas meal, but no, dissapointment hit as hard as a wet fish to the side of the head.

Do not buy a Parmco Stove

Do not buy a Parmco Stove. The oven's interior lining rusts out well before the warrantee ends, and management are happy to refuse a claim for rust. Had to have the oven door replaced not long after purchase due to rust and paint falling off. The grill never worked, and when it was to be repaired under warrantee the rust holes in the oven lining prevented the repair - a fire hazard! What a lemon!

Oven heat is unreliable for baking

Oven heat is unreliable for baking. If a recipe calls for 170deg, I do it at 150deg, otherwise it overcooks. Also, the fan goes continually, even when not turned to fan bake. Rang customer service, was told that could not happen! It definitely does. The fan is designed to turn on when the oven is turned off, to cool it down. Whose bright idea was that? Some baking is finished on residual heat, eg pavlovas Baking biscuits, have to turn the tray halfway through baking ie, or the ones at the rear burn. The elements on top. Turned to high, sometimes have to be turned off, then on again, to get heat. The ceramic top is badly scratched, though cleaned daily. At under 2yrs old, it's not a patch on the one I used with total confidence for over 30yrs.

Parmco Oven and Dryer

Parmco Oven - elements dont adjust temp, it is just one setting - extra hot no matter what the knob is set to. The knobs keep popping off the front and need putting back together all the time. The customer service is utter bs and no help what so ever.

Don't buy

Don't buy. Chose the double gas oven as we are off grid. It's not even two years old and the oven door exploded due to absolutely nothing falling on it etc. (have seen other reviews say this too).

Parmco said the door is not covered by their warranty and a replacement door that we need to fit ourselves is $610.

Not to mention it does not heat consistently. Sometimes cooking at the same heat and the same food (muffins) are burnt, sometimes they are undercooked.

Terrible oven and worse customer service/ warranty.

I WISH I HAD SEEN THESE REIEWS!

We had a new parmco ranghood installed when purchasing our home. Slowly over time the ranghood began to vibrate/shudder against the wall. I advised parmco This is an inconsistant issue that has increased in severity over time. The noise has become almost unbearable to the ears at times.
Parmco sent out a service man who turned the unit on, shon a torch inside the unit and then left stating there was no fault.
I was then billed $377.20 There was no cost breakdown other than the inspection fee plus $75 admin fee. My installer attemted to comunicate that the fee was unacceptable and the unit is still faulty. In this time parmco offered me a one time reduced bill of $180 which i found odd, while my installer was in lengthy comunications with parmco and advising me not to pay this rediculous bill.
I have now been threatened with debt collection so have had no choice but to pay the $377.20 invoice and I still have a faulty ranghood that I now have to replace not even three years after install.
Disgusting to discover after viewing all these reviews, parmco continue to rip off consumers with faulty product and unacceptable absolutly disgraceful customer service!
Update, I was eventually refunded after installer proved thr rangehood was indeed faulty

The 7 year warranty is false!

My 6 year old Parmco gas hob had nuts and bolts separating and falling into the base housing and the sales/service person declines my claim and advises me to use a local service agent - and pay for it myself.
Besides the obvious of failing to observe the Consumer Guarantees Act this clown tells me that the repair can be done by an electrician - when the job requires access to the internals of a gas hob!
NZ law states that any work to a gas hob requires a Registered Gas Fitter and Parmco does not know this!
I then paid a gas fitter to do the repair and they agreed that an electrician must not do this job.
I could easily win a Disputes Tribunal claim but first decide that sharing my case with you and adding to the numerous other unhappy customers would be more satisfying and also cost Parmco much more than my gas fitters invoice.
Never again will a Parmco appliance enter my home and my new mission is to share my experience with as many others as possible.
Parmco - honour your warranty and learn your stuff or you’re going down.

I purchased a new freestanding oven…

I purchased a new freestanding oven with a ceramic cooktop and fan-forced oven. One element didn't work out of the box. the oven light did not turn off even when the oven was off. The electrician who installed it told the store and they got the service team in the next day. The cooktop was a disconnected wire and the oven light was front a bigger problem of the incorrect oven control installed that didn't match the factory wiring diagram. So now the cooktop works but not the oven. Awaiting a new part for the oven controls.

Absolute rubbish appliance

Absolute rubbish appliance. They supplied the wrong caps for the gas cook top and then blamed us? For a couple of years we struggled with an uncontrollable oven (again they blamed our cooking ability) when it was finally checked the thermostat was not installed correctly and they found multiple loose screws and striped threads on other parts, finally the thermostat was also not functional, they did eventually replace that. Less than 4 years old and the oven door is corroding terribly and was clearly never finished correctly the digital display fills with condensation making it unusable.

Never buy a Parmco appliance their service is non existent and they will do anything to avoid their obligations on their terrible appliances. Even if someone has a gun to your head you would be better to choose the bullet over spending a cent on years of misery at the hands of Parmco

Why in NZ permitted to import Parmco products?

We have had a parmco oven and dishwasher in our previous house.Bad luck we moved and alas a parmco dishwasher in new house. Bad buzz maximus. What a terrible expensive experience. Do not purchase any Parmco products ever. Its a disgrace to the company and as I see here not a single good review. If I could I wouldn't give one star. Going to move

I had the misfortune to purchase Parmco…

I had the misfortune to purchase Parmco appliances 12 years ago on the advice of the kitchen manufacturer. I had oven, gas hobs, rangehood and dishwasher. They. Would have to be the worst appliances I have owned in 50 years. The hobs were replaced twice in the first 12 months. the dishwasher I replaced after 3 years, the oven burns everything. The quality of the materials used is shockingI have just purchased a new oven, cooktop and rangehood of a well known brand (not Parmco)and can’t wait to have them installed.
I would advised anyone to stay well clear of these products.

NOT HAPPY

As an Electrician i have recommended & installed Parmco products in the past.
This time i ordered a spare part for a rangehood to carry out a repair. I supplied them with a model # and a serial # as they requested. When the part arrived i removed & dismantled the hood, to find that the new part was incorrect. When i brought this to their attention, they blamed everyone else. I then reassembled the hood & waited for the correct part to arrive. When asked if they would pay for my time to attend twice, i was told it was NOT THEIR PROBLEM !!!
As other posts have alluded to, they TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY once the sale has been completed.
I would not recommend them as a company to deal with.
