I thoroughly recommend Partridge Cycles

When we arrived at the front door, we were met by Henry who straight away found us the electric bicycle that we later bought. The service was friendly, and included a test ride. It was by no means a hard sell and our many questions were informatively & demonstatively answered.

When we couln't fit the bicycle in our car, Henry obliged by removing the front wheel so that I didnt have to ride the bicycle ten miles home in the rain.

Thanks to Partridge Cycles, we bought a great ebike; I thoroughly recommend this bike shop.

Great to see your service has improved…

Looks like things haven’t improved since my poor service when I purchased an e-bike a few years ago. Looking at your trustpilot rating nothing has changed. I just checked in after probably over six months to still find your Website ‘under construction’ I guess you don’t consider a working website important. A question. Are you concerned that the poor reviews from customers are costing you a lot of business?

If you can’t afford to lose your money…

If you can’t afford to lose your money don’t go anywhere near these rip off merchants. Purchased a Giant Escape 3 on 1st February. Because the weather was so bad after I bought it I didn’t get to use it for a couple of weeks. Third time using it after a total of 44 miles the gear mechanism completely failed. The assistant on the phone claimed it was cable stretch! Hardly likely after 44 miles. I told them I wanted a refund as the bike had not been fit for purpose when sold to me. They refused as it was a whole 5 days over the 30 day limit for a refund. I eventually very reluctantly agreed to a repair. When they looked at the bike they admitted that the gear change mechanism needed to be replaced - after 44 miles that surely means the bike was faulty to start with. Gears still weren’t working after I got the bike back so took it back and said I was insisting on a refund. Lot of arguing with the manager who laughed in my face and walked away. I left the bike and applied for a chargeback from the bank. That has now been refused because the manager claimed it was ‘user error’ and not a problem with the bike. He actually admits in the first part of his reply to the bank that they did need to replace the gear mechanism and in a later paragraph says that there was nothing wrong with it and they only replaced it to ‘save arguing’. Very patronisingly says that ‘the customer doesn’t understand that mechanical items can go wrong and that is why there is a warranty’. But the previous sentence says there wasn’t anything wrong?
You would expect a local, independent company to want to want to safeguard their reputation but in reality, once they’ve got your money they lie through their teeth and will walk away laughing.
Total rip off merchants and rude and arrogant with it.

Bad Customer Service

Bad Customer Service

Will never use this company again, total rip
Off and manager is as arrogant as can be.
Was told my two road bike services would be £60 each. Never got a call to say they were ready for collection., I had to call them after waiting all day for a phone call for collection that I never received.

Was charged £60 per bike plus an additional charge of £8.00 per bike for sundries?

The sundries were for lubricants. Surly for £60 they could spare a bit of lubricant.

I mentioned to them, why can’t they be honest and upfront with customers.

I agreed with the manager to pay the full amount and told him i will never come back, he replied with a smirk “ that’s up to you”

Truly awful experience would never go back

I took my haibike in for some warranty work to be done and was told they charge to get the claim underway. They looked at the bike and ran some diagnostics and then said they don't do warranty work if the bike wasn't bought from then, this cost £97. The original dealer supplied a replacement cable which I took to them and they charged me £100 to fit, they did at that time say it would be another £100 if a new motor was fitted. How can 2 different jobs both come to the same labour charge!!!!! Anyway Haibike provided a new motor but advised I collect the bike from Partridge and take it to another dealer. I did this and the new shop said they'd charge £35 to fit the motor.... £65 cheaper than partridge. The new dealer fitted the new motor but has to spend extra time on the bike as there was no power when it was turned on, the reason was that Partridge had incorrectly fitted the cable they charged £100 to fit. Please avoid this shop at all costs as they just don't care.. Absolutely useless rip off merchants.

Sadly Patridge Cycles don't value…

Sadly Patridge Cycles don't value customers. I just visited to purchase some replacement brake pads, wanting to grab some today and support local business.
Unsure of the model I needed the store assistant helped me identify the right ones. £16 a pair. Bit steep. A quick google on my phone shows me they are anywhere between £5-£10 online. Their nearest competitor having them for sale at £7.99 (Halfords). I point this out and ask what the best price is... reply - 'well go and buy them from Halfords then...'
I walked right out.
Doubling the price of products is quite frankly taking the p*ss out of your customers. I won't bother visiting again.

DO NOT BUY FROM PARTRIDGE CYCLES

Bought 2 bikes from them last year, 1st was a hybrid, 2nd “upgraded “ to road bike. Ripped off with sale of hybrid back to them. They’re only interested in profit, don’t give a damn about customers- I have and will never go back. Strongly advise anyone not to use them . I’m disgusted.

Beware - refunds not given !

Failed to give refund despite being assured at time of purchase by Alex it would not be a problem. Shop floor staff are very helpful and only following company policy. Management need to review policy as we will go on-line in future. Have spent over £6k there over past 18 months which counted for nothing. All for £35 and they have lost goodwill for the future. Consider Bike Shed Outatown instead.

Snobby, patronising and belittling

Bought a bike for £175 in August 2022. Despite best intentions it was never ridden so we took it back to see what they would buy it back for. The manner they spoke to us ws awful, as if we were not worthy of their time. We didn't expect full price but when offered £50 we were really insulted. My main issue was the way they spoke to us, so snobby, patronising, unhelpful and just belittling. Will never go here again. Very very angry.

poor quality of assembly by Partridge cycles

Bought a nice electric HaibIke which was basically a good bike. However it was sold with one loose pedal and one completely misthreaded. This pedal fell off when I was miles from home.
The mudguard stays also disconnected and were not easily fixed at home.
The bike was good, the Partridge workshop which assembled the bike was not.

Electric bike purchase

Having not ridden a bike for 20 years I needed expert advice and understanding. Due to a health condition exercise has been recommended, the reassurance I received in the shop today made the decision to purchase an electric bike very easy, Joe a young assistant was very attentative and thorough in explaining the technical side to me, and John was extremely helpful also with a reassuring manner both were very patient.
