Every question I had during set up was answered, and everyone I spoke with was patient and helpful!

It is easy to navigate and do the things I need to do.
However, coming from QuickBooks Online, one thing I miss is that writing checks doesn't automatically generate check stubs, which is a very useful feature for me. Additionally, the pay stubs are a bit large, and the system doesn't seem to generate an employer copy of the pay stub.

Patriot Software does what I want it to do brilliantly without forcing me to use features that I don't want to use.

The answers from AI have been great and the ability to get forwarded to someone if it can't answer. I would say that my only frustration is things being left out of promotion, such as, the most recent thing that came along is that I 'just' found out that there is a quick download to QB for payroll that I was unaware of. Many of my clients are switching, but I thought I had to do a JE to accommodate getting payroll into their QB. Not the case.

Customer Service was able to assist in our company setting up the right subscription to fit our needs and make sure that we understood the subscription. Setting up our company and moving information over was easy. So far we have enjoyed using Patriot Software and look forward to working with them and continuing adding on other subscriptions.

We began using Patriot Payroll the beginning of June 2026. It's super easy, and the customer service is top notch - and American! We attempted to use the Accounting software, but it just wasn't the fit we need now. Perhaps in the future.

Patriot software Customer Service is amazing. I've called a few times since starting to use the software. Each time, a friendly, professional, American-born person, answered my call within a few minutes and expertly helped me resolved my problem. Few companies in this day and age provide this level of Customer Service.

Patriot payroll is very easy to use. Customer service is fantastic!

While I find Patriot an adequate accounting software, it is somewhat clunky to use after having used Quickbooks for 30 years. There are some things that could be added to make it more user friendly. One being that it doesn't constantly want to log you out...even when you are still working in it rather than only when it has set idle for a set period of time. Another would be speed, it is fairly slow, especially when generating a report for a specific account, you have to wait for the drop down to appear, then you have to wait for it to acknowledge that you've selected an account, then wait for it to generate the report. I do like the fast customer support responses and the ability to chat rather than have to be on the phone. There are other suggestions but that can wait for another time.

Clients, who pay for their subscription, add me as their accountant, but I don't have a way to remove them when our contract ends. I instead have to wait on the client to do this which leaves me open to liability.

We've been using Patriot Software for our payroll for almost 10 years and they have been amazing! Whenever I've had a payroll or tax related question pertaining to info needed on W-2 forms, I can always count on their customer support to be knowledgeable and outstanding to communicate with over the phone or online chat. They are true professionals. The user interface is straightforward and easy to navigate. We are a small business with under 20 employees. We don't have a lot of extra time to throw at payroll disruptions or issues, and to date, we've had zero. Their reports and resources are top notch. Highly recommend them to anyone needing a reliable payroll software and support system.
