Best tracker out there

This is the third different type of tracker I have tried and the best. I like the features. It's quick to locate my dog and the battery lasts longer. It has a good warranty. I'm really happy with it. You get a choice of subscriptions so you are not paying too much upfront.

All the Bells & Whistles

OK, so I tried a (green & black) competitor brand which PaH sell. (Thinking that must mean its good) One was faulty and had to be replaced, then, and only after purchasing a subscription did i find out that you cannot add friends and family to the trackers. So completely useless. (many other faults as well, never know if its on or off, lag in Geolocation and tracking). I got a full refund thankfully. So back to the market with more searching questions. Eureka - Pawfit won. These are fantastic, they are not as big as they look. they talk to you 'off/on', so you know. You can save a recorded message to say to your dog from the tracker. Tracking is definitely real time, & has a remote light switch for night time spotting. Completely waterproof. I recommend getting the cover, to avoid scratches (dont worry that it looks like trapped water, its only under the case screen, not in the unit). OK, its an investment, we have two large dogs, older one is frightened of gunshot and flies, and runs home, the other is 9mths, so worth it in my opinion. Highly recommended.

Best compared to other apps

We have used other brands and this one is the best fit for us because it is a good size for the dog, the subscription is affordable, the range is terrific, the battery lasts a considerable amount of time, the app has excellent alerts.

We love our dog and the device ensures us she is within the distance allowed. I recommend it. We use it in the city and in the country.

I do not know if I have the option to set up two homes; I have to explore further.

Great product and great customer service

We have used Pawfit for over a year and have been very pleased with the quality of the equipment, the ease of use and the effectiveness of the tracking. We have a dog which can get onto a scent and the tracker helps us locate him. We recently had a bit of a technical issue and the support team were quick to assist and get things functioning again. Great product and great service.

Six months along & it’s pur-rr-rr-fect!

I ordered my Pawfit Lite in January 2026. In the six months of use, my kitten Sammi has gotten lost way down in the woods once, stuck in a tree once (also way down in the woods), and lost her collar in a bush in our yard once. I’m so impressed with the GPS accuracy. I found her and/or her collar every time! Fortunately we both got past the tree episode unscathed. She was quite frightened and relieved when help arrived. It IS important to keep the battery well charged in case it comes up missing. The battery lasts about two days, and fully charges in about two hours, so that aspect is great, too! This little unit is purrfect!!

Could not get tracker charged up later no gps signal

Could not get tracker charged up to start with it would be helpful if the correct charger was included with the tracker rather than us having to find one ourselves or purchase one separately. It then worked well for about 4 weeks and now will not pick up a gps signal, it’s just been fully charged I tried switching it off completely then back on again made no difference. I am not very impressed with the Pawfit lite so far as only just one month into a two year contract.

Hi Mrs Dann,

Thanks for taking the time to write us a review.

We're sorry to hear you're experiencing a problem with your device not finding a GPS signal despite fully charging and restarting it. We also appreciate your feedback about the charger.

I can see you have been in contact with us today and a member of our team has replied. After taking a closer look, we can see your device is offline currently. However, we can also see there have been instances where your device took longer than normal to provide location updates.

Network problems could be caused by the local coverage and GPS related problems can be caused by overhead obstructions (e.g., dense foliage, being indoors, etc.).

Please could you get back in touch with us at your earliest convenience so we can discuss the next steps? We hope we can improve your experience with Pawfit.

Kind regards,
Pawfit Team

Good in principle

In our family, we have three working cocker spaniels (mother and two offspring), two of whom have Pawfit trackers, and one a different brand. All of the dogs are escapologists, hence the trackers.

The Pawfit tracker is good in principle, but is let down by a couple of niggles.

Firstly, actual tracking. If there is a way to show where an escaped dog is and in which direction she is moving in real time, I am yet to find it. The phone app will show where she is (or has been) at a particular point in time, but in practice she has almost certainly moved on from there by the time we are trying to intercept - live tracking is poor to non-existant and we are left using our best guess as to where she may be. In other words, whilst it will show us roughly where she is, it cannot seem to pinpoint her in real time. The app doesn't show her actually moving, so the positions given are more historic than live.

My daughter's other spaniel has a different brand of tracker that shows live positions and actual live movement, which is more accurate and makes it easier to intercept her.

Second, the tracker device itself is very difficult to fit into the charging base and the collar mount. The push-buttons on either side of the device are no help in fitting it - in fact they seem to serve no purpose at all. A high level of force is required to attach and remove the tracker.

This is a shame because in all other respects it is a good little unit. It is certainly robust and doesn't require very frequent charging. The fact that it is difficult to fit and remove from the collar also has the benefit that it probably won't fall off!

I also like the activity tracker, which is useful to see how well the dog is being exercised, though in reality these are spaniels we're talking about and they simply don't get tired!

Hi Graham,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and experience.

We are pleased to hear that you find the tracker useful overall, especially the battery life, robustness, and activity tracking.

Regarding live tracking, the Pawfit 'Find' function is designed to provide location updates every 5 seconds while active. However, GPS accuracy and update speed can be affected by factors such as mobile network coverage, GPS signal strength, surrounding buildings, trees, weather conditions, and whether the tracker has a clear view of the sky.

I are sorry to hear that you have found attaching and removing the tracker difficult. The fitting is designed to strike a balance between being sturdy and secure for active pets, while still allowing the tracker to be detached when needed. It may be worth checking our video instructions here to see if this matches your experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovY1uhSHonQ
This should show a clear representation of how this is done.

Thank you again for your feedback. We really appreciate your comments and will pass them on to our team.

Kind regards

I tried the other 2 top brand gps…

I tried the other 2 top brand gps trackers and got the same results from both. Frequently showed my cat still at home when I knew she wasn't and wouldn't update after she left until she came back home. Pawfit was going to be my last resort.

Right out of the box I liked it better. It was smaller and more lightweight than the other two. It's easy to set up the app and easy to attach to my cats collar. When it's time to charge it, I don't have to remove it from the collar like I did the others. That's a super bonus.

My cat does not mind wearing this at all. When she wants to go outside if I hold up her collar, she will come over to me and let me put it on. Unlike the other two brands, Pawfit shows me exactly where my cat has been or is very reliably. The other two had signals bouncing all over the place.

We bought a GPS tracker not so much to find our cat but to find out how far she goes from our house. I have much better peace of mind knowing she is always within a two house radius of our house. I trust Pawfit to accurately keep track of her. I get a notification when she leaves the safe zone and I get a notification when she returns.

So far, I have no complaints. I do not use any of the other features that come with this but they do work. I can definitely recommend this GPS unit for your cat.

Very reassuring GPS device.

Our two Spaniels have had Pawfit trackers for 4 years moving up to the latest versions last year. It is very reassuring to know that if they slip their leads we will be able to find them quickly. Mabel is only alive today because her tracker located her trapped in a ditch a few years ago. Without the tracker she would have died and we would never have found her.
Enough said!

Overall pleased with tracker.

Overall pleased with tracker.
Negatives - I can’t remove/attach tracker as not strength in fingers, so I remove collar to charge.
Also, had tracker 3 weeks & lost collar off twice already so bought new collar

Pawfit and Pawfit Lite

Got a Pawfit tracker for our lab and a Pawfit Lite tracker for our yorkie. Impressed with the app. Trackers easy to use. Pawfit Lite a bit tricky to get on and off collar but that may be to ensure it stays secure, which it does. As a smaller tracker it also needs more charging , I imagine is because battery is much smaller. So pleased with both trackers and peace of mind they bring. Especially glad to get one to fit a small dog, she's 4.5kg and it's perfect. 👌🏻
