I would give 5 stars purely for the bed itself — it is absolutely beautiful, great quality, and looks even better in person. I’m genuinely so happy with the product.
However, I do need to knock one star off due to the stress and poor experience caused by the courier used for delivery.
Initially, I was given less than 24 hours’ notice for delivery. I understand the website states up to 48 hours’ notice, but being called at 3pm and told delivery would be at 10am the next morning is not manageable for people who work full-time. I had to rearrange for the following week and take a day off work to be available.
The day before my rearranged delivery, I was then told my slot would be between 6am–8am. While I appreciate efficiency, 6am for a large furniture delivery is completely unreasonable and, in my opinion, disrespectful to customers. These are unsociable hours, and expecting someone to be awake before 6am to accept a bed delivery is not acceptable customer service. When I asked for a more specific time, the courier couldn’t provide one.
To make matters worse, I then received a text message from the driver at midnight confirming a 7am arrival. Being contacted at midnight regarding a delivery is highly inappropriate and unprofessional. It added unnecessary stress the night before and is not what I would consider acceptable customer service.
There was also some confusion on my part about installation — I believed I had paid for it when I hadn’t. This was resolved with Pay Weekly Beds the night before delivery. Unfortunately, the courier’s response regarding this was rude and dismissive, with a clear “not my problem” attitude. That said, the actual driver on the day was polite, understanding, accepted payment for installation, and assembled the bed with no issues. He was professional and helpful.
I do understand that many of these issues relate to the courier, but this is a delivery company Pay Weekly Beds have chosen to use in the Gloucestershire area. Because of this, I do feel the seller should take some responsibility for the poor communication and disrespectful and unprofessional delivery practices.
Overall, I love the bed and the end result — I just hope delivery communication and time slots can be improved for future customers.
