Shipping Cost Sticker Shock

Be aware that the shipping cost shown on PC-Canada's website may not always be accurate for certain items.

In my case, I ordered three different items, and the estimated shipping at checkout was $13.49. After placing the order, I was informed that one of the items (quantity of 5) would require an updated shipping charge of $117.78. Even after reducing of the item in question to the quantity to 1, the PC-Canada representative told me shipping cost for that single item was still quoted at $33.60.

To their credit, PC-Canada was willing to cancel the item with the excessive shipping charge while still processing and shipping the other two items at the original, reasonable shipping cost matching what was shown on the website.

My recommendation is for PC-Canada to display accurate shipping charges for items (especially one that they have to order from USA/other countries).

Absolute disappointment

28 Years in POS business. Simple QR Scanner always had stand & cable in the package.
The Manufacture decided to separate all 3 without a description on the PC-Canada.
Order arrived, we delivered. Found out only Scanner is in the Box.
They admitted the misinformation. Ordered the Cable only from US Logistic.
Order arrived in Canada 10 days ago. UPS won't deliver, no straight answer - Zero support from the PC-Canada to contact their logistic (main account holder of their UP) to follow up.
We're loosing a $15,000 hardware deal due to a simple missing Cable.
Thanks

Canceled my order on a product that was on sale

I recently bought a monitor that was being advertised with a sale price, after purchasing it I received an email confirmation and a phone call confirming the details of the order. Later that day I got another email saying that I would have to pay full price or they would cancel the order. Not professional to offer a sale and then cancel my order.

Hi Colin, thank you for your feedback—we understand how frustrating this must have been. In rare cases, pricing errors can occur, and as noted in our Terms & Conditions, orders are subject to price verification. When this happens, we reach out to offer the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order. We appreciate your understanding and will continue working to improve accuracy and communication.

Outstanding Service from Start to Finish — Thanks Ian!

I recently ordered two Synology HAT3310-16T 16TB drives from PC-Canada and the experience was genuinely impressive from the very first email.

Ian answered every question I had quickly and clearly, stock availability, shipping details, warranty info, cutoff times, all handled promptly and professionally. When I found out I couldn't pick up the drives in person, he made sure the next best option worked perfectly. I placed my order before 3:30 PM, and Ian personally flagged it to the warehouse to be rushed. By 4:00 PM the same day I had confirmation it was shipping, and the very next morning I had a tracking number in my inbox with a friendly heads-up that it was out for delivery.

That kind of proactive communication is rare. Ian didn't wait for me to follow up, he just kept me in the loop every step of the way, which made the whole thing completely stress-free.

I'll be honest, I almost didn't order here because of some of the negative reviews I saw, and I genuinely don't understand them. My experience was the opposite of what those reviews describe. Maybe others had a bad day, maybe circumstances differed, but what I got was fast shipping, honest answers, and Ian who went out of his way to make things happen. I'm shocked the overall rating isn't higher.

PC-Canada has earned a loyal customer. If you're on the fence because of mixed reviews, give them a shot.

Highly recommend!
I will definitely be ordering from them again.
Thank you Ian

DONT BUY FROM HERE

I bought a motherboard Jan 10th while it was in stock, they had a problem with my credit card and delayed the payment that's fine happens all the time. What's not ok was my order getting back ordered for 2 months when they said at max 2 weeks. They also will try and markup the price after backorder due to "demand". I would not recommend this company unless it's your last option.

Hi Daegan, we’re very sorry for the experience and understand how frustrating those delays must have been. While payment issues can sometimes impact order timelines, we recognize the extended backorder and changing ETA fell short of expectations. We also want to clarify that we don’t control manufacturer supply or pricing, when availability or costs change due to demand, we communicate this as transparently as possible.
We truly appreciate your feedback and are working to improve both our communication moving forward.

I recommend never EVER doing business…

I recommend never EVER doing business there. They often threaten to cancel your order before shipping f you don't pay extra because they say the prices has increased. This is illegal practices. This company should be shut down for doing illegal actions. I hope someone calls the police.

Hello, we’re very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how upsetting this situation can feel.
We want to clarify that our practices are not illegal. As outlined in our Terms & Conditions, all orders are subject to availability and price verification, particularly for items that go on backorder. In cases where manufacturer pricing changes or supply constraints occur, we communicate this as soon as possible and provide customers with the option to proceed at the updated price or cancel the order at no charge. Our goal is always to be transparent and give customers control over how they’d like to proceed, we never process changes without consent. We truly regret that this process caused frustration and appreciate your feedback

Hi Jesse, we sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this caused, we understand how upsetting it is to see a price change after placing an order. As outlined in our Promotions and Instant Rebates policy, promotional pricing is tied to product availability and must ship within the promotion period. If there are delays that prevent this—such as stock availability or order processing—our team will reach out to explain the situation and provide the option to proceed at the updated price or cancel at no charge. We know this isn’t the experience you expected, and we truly regret the disappointment. Your feedback is important to us.

price hike on in-stock product after confirmed order

ordered a, in stock, 500gb ssd for $87CAD, got confirmation email. then 2 days later got an email that they had to increase the price to $114
PC-Canada listed the price for $87 and confirmed the order only to come back with a almost 25% price hike.
Reason: chip shortage.
chip shortage should not affect the advertised price on in-stock items

They lost a customer.

Beware- false advertising and pricing

Beware, these guys post prices to attract you to their website from places like PCPartpicker like they have a slightly better price and then you order it and they contact you and demand a higher price. Just happened with some $190 RAM. They turn around and ask for $216.99 or they want to cancel your order.

Read this if you are potentially a new customer of PC-Canada

I had never heard of this company prior, but when I was ordering my pc parts a couple days ago (early Saturday morning), they seemed to be the only business with my desired GPU in stock, and the price was great. They also seemed legit enough, and I wanted to have my PC all together by the next weekend, so I went ahead and ordered. Come Monday morning, I wake up to texts from my bank: automated fraud protection confirmations of the purchase. I confirmed the purchase as my own as soon as I could, but shortly after received an email from PC-Canada that my order had been cancelled and that I could place another order. So I immediately did that as well, as the website still showed the item in stock, then went about my work day. A couple hours into work, I see an email that my order was on hold due to an error on my part with the billing address, so I called them right away to fix that. During this call with a lady from their finance department who was friendly and helpful enough, I was told that I need to provide them with a non-free email address, such as a work email. Never having had this experience before, I was confused but reluctantly accepted and my order was verified and confirmed and I was told that it would be shipped the same day. I was confused as to why all this came up days after I ordered, and I was told they only process order between Monday-Friday. Not sure if that's stated clearly on their website, but I certainly missed it. Anyway, I go back to work after jumping through these hoops and I get another email and this time it reads that my item is actually out of stock and that it will be on backorder for up to 2 weeks. That really angered me because at no point was it indicated that the item was sold out, and the website still said it was in stock early in the morning. So I called them back again and spoke to another reasonably friendly customer service rep, who told me that the website may not yet have been updated early in the morning because of their Monday-Friday business hours! The employee was nice enough to hear out my venting, but I was not willing to sit around waiting up to 2 weeks for the GPU, so the employee ultimately helped me in cancelling my order. Funny thing is, minutes after ending the phone call, I found the same GPU in stock on Amazon (it was out of stock on Saturday) and I was able to place the order from them with no issues at all. Giving this business 3 stars because the employees on the phone were nice and helpful, and some of the billing address mix up was my own fault, but they really need to at least have their website updated more frequently or communicate their business practices better. And requiring my work email to confirm the order is just strange and makes the business a lot less appealing to the average consumer.

Late declined purchase

I purchased a motherboard (which didn't have WiFi) and they decided to decline my order 2 days later, and the WiFi card I already purchased was already on it's way to me so I couldn't cancel it. I got another motherboard elsewhere, the cheapest option available had built in WiFi, so the WiFi card I got was useless. If you're going to decline a purchase don't do it late. Left 2 stars instead of 1, because they do sometimes have good prices and people who don't use student debit cards could buy stuff from here, just make sure you only order on business days so that if they do decline your order it happens way earlier.

When things go wrong - Dead on Arrival HDD.

I bought 4 x 28TB hard drives. One was dead on arrival.

With online shopping, you often choose a company based purely on price, which says something in itself. You rarely see how a company truly values its customers until something goes wrong. At that point, you’re often at the mercy of customer service and at lower price points, that can sometimes be a gamble.

I read some of the other review before purchasing as this was my first time shopping with PC-Canada, on the surface it seemed like a mixed bag of 5's and 1's.

If you read the 1's you might notice some common themes, many are from people who are disappointed in the products failing after the manufacturing warranty's expire.

I don't know how people can expect a retail store with such competitive prices to magic up responsibility or warranty beyond that of the manufacturer, perhaps they need to actually pay for extended warranty rather then expect it for free.

Personally if I have a poor experience with a particular brand, I don't buy it again.

For an issue that is genuinely PC-Canada's responsibility (such as a product defective on arrival) as defined by the provincial consumer acts, I had a very good experience.

My return and replacement experience was smooth, I had the pleasure of dealing with Ian, communication was prompt and jolly, and everything was handled professionally from start to finish.

In this instance PC-Canada was the most competitive on price. I understand that offering the best prices and great customer service isn’t an easy balance, but I’m always happy to pay a little more for the reassurance that I’ll be looked after if something goes wrong.

I’ll be checking PC-Canada’s website first for my next purchase, and this experience will definitely weigh in their favour over any competitors offering a slightly lower price.

Pc canada not worth it

I bought a pc case from them and the price went down from 300 to 220 literally 3 days after my purchase. They wouldn't give me a credit. I call that stealing people. So it was my first and last time with pc-canada

Quick and simple

Great communication with customer service. I ordered from them after having a negative experience with Canada Computers and I was pleasantly surprised. The parts all arrived within 48 hours of me placing the order. Granted, I'm located close to one of their warehouses but I was still very impressed by the order fulfillment time. Will definitely be ordering from them again!!
