Amazing

Amazing! My computer was destroyed 2 months ago and has not been powered or connected to the internet- yet I continued to get emails from pc matic telling me how they scanned and cleaned up my dead computer. When I questioned them, the response was lame and evasive. They could not explain it. I can - PC MATIC IS A SCAM!!! they took my money for the past 5 years or so and did nothing.

Disappointed Patriotic American.

We are very patriotic, we love our country, and when we saw "made in the USA" we believed it and subscribed to your service. Ironic that you advertise $50 annually for 5 devices, we only had 3, yet you charged our bank account $211.44. In June of 2024 you informed us that we were no longer 'covered' by PC Matic, yet there was no refund for unused services. We tried numerous times to contact you. All attempts failed, as it seems you are allergic to actual customer service that we "Americans" are accustomed to -- real people fixing real problems right now. We let it go.... mainly because "Made In America". This year, you again removed $211.44 from our bank account... and this time we are not having it. Any company that promises as much as yours does, and then delivers on none of it does not get our business. We emailed you, we called every phone number we could find -- and that's like 2 which are completely non-responsive -- unsure if they were even yours. Today, we got a supposedly viable phone number from our bank, and were able to ONLY leave a voice message.... again no actual contact with a human. We WANTED to have your "protection"..... because "made in the USA" means something to us. I just wish it did for you. If you want a better relationship with customers, and better reviews, HIRE ACTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS.... invest in a bank of phone lines.... and be what Americans expect, the BEST. Whatever you're doing now isn't it.

I wish I could give them a lower score

I wish I could give them a lower score. Took over 600 dollars and I still ended up spending 4 days myself fixing my PC, had to wipe a secondary computer completely to then install a Linux OS and was able to eventually get a recovery iso made from a different company thank the Lord.. These guys are worse than useless. They actively market themselves as a helpful solution to viruses and other dangers, take your cash then when you need em the most? No where to be found ..like I said, worse than useless.

PCMatic

PCMatic will not respond to repeated calls and emails regarding billing, namely unauthorized automatic renewal. Impossible to speak to representatives.

I purchased this when my Mcafee expired…

I purchased this when my Mcafee expired and worked well for about 90 days then started acting up.Tech Support was no help ,had to fix problem myself. Another tech said i had to pay $100 b4 he would help me fix the second time problem. Istarted to go with Webroot which includes tech support and is USA based.PC MATIC recently is slowing my computer and only scans when connected to the internet.I will never recommend them. They have more problems than Norton or Mcafee.Today it won't load to do a scan.Something to do with the shield and no instructions on how to fix the problem.

I am very good with tech even though I'm over 70. I researched this company more than once over the years. They are a scam and will take your $ and give you nothing in return except headaches. Please, do yourself a favor, stay away!!!

PLEASE think twice!

Think twice, PLEASE. I'm a boomer who fell for the make pretty ALL AMERICAN commercials and signed up. I cancelled my previous provider after years because I couldn't understand the tech's versions of English if or when I had a question. After years of only minor issues with the old provider, I got hacked after the switch to PCMatic and when I called to find out how to contact someone for support I was told they couldn't help me and I needed to take my computer to a shop for repair. When I contacted another department hoping for a partial refund of the contract I'm cancelling, I was told via email by a non human(?) they don't offer refunds after 30 days. I'm going to TotalAV...

The tech support is terrible

The tech support is terrible. I tried to reset the password and I get nothing. It claims it sends a reset option but it never comes to the inbox or spam.

I paid for extra support for all devices. I call them and they support every thing but PC Matic.
They submit a ticket and you have to wait for them to contact you. They have no contact number.
If you want any kind of tech support stay away from PC Matic .

Complete crapware

Complete crapware! It blocks legitimate programs, it does not allow you, the owner of the computer, to add programs to their "white list" all you have to un-quarantine those programs after every scan. Support is less than helpful, I can't prove it, but I swear they reactivated my auto renewal. Yes I got emails about it, but they weren't to my junk/spam folder, where anything from this ridiculous company belongs. And I can't delete my card information from their website. So informing my card company to refuse any future charges from these turds.

Do your own research

If they're so good, why do they need to advertise so much? I'm am only offering my opinion here, please know that. They target the elderly and non-technical due to their assumed gullibility. They do something called "Whitelisting" that means you have to "allow" sites and apps to be used yourself. It's like deny everything and allow each item approach. That puts the responsibility of knowing a site/app is clean, which most people don't know. Most people are not experts in cyber-threat analysis. They also have a USA based VPN which means you have no privacy from the government. Go search for "5 eyes" and your chin will hit the floor. I myself use Eset antivirus and ExpressVPN. Yes, they have a cost associated, but it's quite justified. Most of all DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. I am a prior DOD IT contractor with emphasis on cybersecurity and have the certificates to prove it. They will probably go after this post and want to "contact" me or the post will be removed like another company did when I made light of them. Good luck and happy hunting folks, do that research please, there's lots of articles on the internet about them that will better illustrate my opinion.

I would give PC Matic -15 stars if I could. I've had them for 7 years (shame on me), and have had the absolute worse customer/tech support ever. Ya can't talk to them on the phone or even chat. Ya have to email them your issue and then wait til they decide to get off their a$$ and do something to help. I've had it with them.

Beware of paying $$$

Beware of companies that promise virus protection only of you pay $$$. As a techie, I recommend using Windows 10 and 11 built-in security. It works very well, because Microsoft wants to protect its products. You also can get and use Malwarebytes for free as additional protection. If you visit porn sites, you risk getting PC infections, even if you pay.

Not very good

Not as good as what the company advertises. Their subscriptions aren't bad but just their software is not trustworthy. I do alot of research and I tried their software before and it messed up my PC. I've scanned their software with several websites including Virustotal and they all say stay away from their software. Even NextDNS Threat Intelligence Feed blocks there website.
If you are smart you will stay away from this website. Be safe out there and do your research on these Antivirus Programs before purchasing a subscription.
