Purchased pdfsam perpetual license and during the payment their website didn't give me the option to enter an email address ( I thought I would get a chance during a review payment page or something similar) payment went through and I was given the key on a purchase confirmation screen (which I thankfully screenshot), but no email was sent and I couldn't get the product associated with the email. Talked with support and went on a wild goose chase. Management refuses to honor the purchase.

The product is great. I have been using it for over 7 years. PDFsam editing and converting tools are easy to use and allow for truly paperless workflow. The service is great. Although rarely needed, when I have had a problem with my account or the functionality of PDFsam, I know that I will receive a quick reply with the tools to resolve the issue.

Signed up with an offer. Works ok but at full price the product is expensive for what you get and the level of customer service is poor. I was sure I’d cancelled auto renewal but it appears I hadn’t and payment was taken. Within an hour of receiving the renewal email I contacted customer services who refused to refund despite me having not used the software in that time. I did get a 20% discount on the current bill but it is still expensive for the functionality and they were unwilling to budge.

I did not mean to purchase but when I left the site it charged my card.
PDF Sam Enhanced is incompatible with Windows Explorer and gmail. They will not refund the price and customer service will not help.with problems
It does an adequate job on small pdf files, (not large ones) but don't waste your money. in order to use gmail or windows explorer you have to use task manager to turn off pdf sam, and it usually has more than six entries.

The free version seems pretty neat so far. Merged some files I've been having no end of trouble with!

Several years ago, I bought "PDFsam Enhanced 6" with a perpetual licence (i.e. not subscription-based, but a permanent installation). One minor nuisance was that, every once in a while, one needed to log in to activate the paid-for features (e.g. Editing etc.). Then, the company suddenly would no longer recognize the log in and simply claim that the connection could not be estbalished. As a result, the PDF editing software I purchased turned into a useless second-rate pdf viewer -- even though I paid extra money to get a "perpetual" installation. Three emails to customer service went unacknowledged; there apparently simply is not customer service to speak of. Perhaps the company has "gone rogue", or they just don't care about customers they can't routinely milk for a subscription fee. Either way, I would recommend staying away from this -- unless you want to be paying good money for second-rate software and non-existent customer service.

Their website promises: "PDFsam Enhanced allows for 1 activation per license key. At any time only 1 computer can use PDFsam Enhanced. You can always transfer your license to another computer by contacting the support team." However, when contacted, the support team will not do this.

PDFsam Basic is free, open source and well done. The premium versions (Visual and Enhanced) do more but may not be needed for the average user. The PDFsam Basic installer asks to try the PDFsam Enhanced version through a checkbox, make sure you don't miss it.

They won’t issue a refund after auto renewal even though I made the request the same day as the renewal. I got a long email from customer support (many days after I contacted them) explaining that I could have cancelled before the renewal but since I didn’t, they didn’t have to give me a refund. The support email even included screenshots of my agreement from two years ago to prove their point. Really shockingly bad customer service! Our business has used countless software products over the years and rarely have we encountered a company that wouldn’t issue a refund.

I wouldn’t be on here if they had given me a refund, but while I’m here, I’ll say their PDF product is not great. Probably 3/5 stars for the product itself. This is why I’m not renewing.

To merge PDFs it kept insisting that I should acquire a paid version even though their website said the free Basic version should be able to do so.

I purchased the enhanced version feeling great about supporting a developer that contributes to open source; and finished up bled dry on a renewal the company refuses to refund despite me requesting the refund within days of the renewal; and for a product that NEVER worked after the first 3 months due to the login failing (Note: My password as stored in the password manager has NOT changed). I'm out of pocket $215 AU and feeling abused. I don't trust these guys :(
