This is a scam

I parked at Peak Parking (705 Trinity Street Austin TX 78701) at approximately 7pm on Sunday October 22, 2023. The sign and machine to pay was right in front of the parking spot. I tried to pay, and it said "PAYMENT NOT ACCEPTED, PAYMENT NOT REQUIRED ALL DAY SUNDAY". I took a photo of this, along with the screen that displayed the enforcement hours, which excluded Sunday.

I return to the vehicle at about 10:30pm to discover it booted for non payment of parking by Austin Parking Company. A guy in a yellow vest comes up to my car shortly thereafter to take payment to have the boot removed. I explain that I tried to pay but the machine said parking was free on Sunday and wouldn't take payment. He said that's the wrong machine, and that it's for street parking. Does not indicate anywhere this is a street parking machine. Despite it being right in front of the parking spot, with no signage indicating this is the wrong machine or that I need to pay elsewhere, I was extorted $100 to get the boot removed.

The machine on site at the parking lot clearly stated parking was not enforced on Sunday, and would not accept payment. Having no signs to indicate anything else is their fault. Google street view reveals that in February of this year, they used to have a sign next to the machine to clarify where to pay to park. The sign and pole it was on weren't there anymore, thus turning this into a booting scam with no signage.
