Still ongoing

4th November 2024. Looks like this scam is ongoing. Received an email from petchip.info which contained our name, dogs name, contact phone number and correct chip registration number.

Something seemed slightly off, so did a bit of research and discovered it is a scam.

Scammers

Scammers. Ignore the email. Horrible how these things look real. It was only because I thought how long does the registration last for and couldn’t find that on the website that I got suspicious.

This company tries to scare you into paying!

Just as others on here. Just received an email asking for payment. Trying to scare people into thinking that if you don’t pay them you’re pet will no longer be on databases and if lost it will be as a non existent animal. Absolutely rubbish and false information and double and triple checked. Please don’t pay your money to these charlatans. Even my dogs m/c number on their email is so incorrect it’s not funny.

Scam

Microchips don't expire. Don't forget to "Let Petchip know about your review."

As with everyone else...it's not real!

As with everyone else...clicked through on the email - all info correct - then thought... 'I have a second - much older - pet....perhaps I never had him chipped because I haven't received a 'reminder'...' then thought again - and looked here! How did they get all my accurate info?

SCAM just like the other reviewers…

SCAM just like the other reviewers below have discovered. Petchip is NOT a DEFRA approved microchip database. Like others I am concerned that they quoted correctly my pet's microchip no. and also my home telephone no. (now defunct). I have spent time today trying to make sure my dog is correctly registered, with Identibase in my case. They advised me to "deregister" with Petchip but personally I do not want to go anywhere near them.

Petchip.info is a total scam

This company is a total scam. 2 years ago when I bought my puppy with a microchip I mistakenly went to this website to register my details as the new owner. Last week I was contacted to renew my registration for another fee otherwise my dog would display as unregistered animal. I know that you do not have to renew to keep details on the database. Its not the fact that I was scammed out of the initial £18 but that my dog has been unregistered on the proper database all this time. I have now rectified this but please anyone who has had contact with this company check your pet is on the official database ie PETtrac.

SCAM!!

Had email as in all other reviews stating my pets registration had expired. They had my pets name but wring micro number (1 digit short). I emailed them stating it was a scam. Here's their reply :
Your ignorance is blatant based on your claims. Microchips themselves do not expire, but the registration does. Our service requires an annual fee, you not wanting to pay for it hardly makes it a scam.
The only thing that will be reported is your theft of service and false slander.

Told them to go ahead and report me.
Despicable company. BEWARE!!!!

Scammers and low-lifes

Woke up this morning 16 October to find an email for this bunch of low lifes. Have advised my vet to warn other owners of these rip-off merchants. One thing that does concern me is how they got my dog's name and microchip number. Were my details passed on by the company my dog is registered with or from my vet (very doubtful)? I've 4 dogs and the oldest is nearly 11 and have never been asked to pay to re-register which is how I figured it was a scam attempt.

SCAM

Received an email stating that my dogs microchip was going to expire and that I needed to make a payment to keep him safe. So glad I looked into this as the email was a scam. All my details and my dogs details were so accurate but 100% scam

Looks like a scam

Same as all the other reviews. So pleased I checked on here as was just about to pay the £18.95 as was panicking that my pet would not be registered. Worryingly all of the contact details are showing on this website against the chip number. Disgusted by this company.

Horrible company.

I recur notification to pay another fee otherwise my pets microchip will become “unregistered”. I have requested someone to contact me but as yet I have not received a response. I do not understand why I have to keep paying every year. Does anyone know how I can check if my cats microchip still has my details registered?

SCAM SCAM SCAM....

Just a repeat of existing reviews. This is a total scam, but works in that the info they send you is accurate, including contact & pet details. It's a modest amount (£18.95) so many will pay without a second thought. Please just ignore their corrupt email, and let's hope the owners/operators of this scam come to a dreadful end...

Registration of pet microchips is FREE

Hi five to PayPal

Just confirming what everyone else has said.
My wife paid as she loves her dog. But once we worked out it was a scam I contacted PayPal and they refunded our money.

Now the emails have started again.
