meh content, neglected, broken, bad support
Beware, there are many people in the forums asking for refunds, but these posts soon get deleted by admins, while they don't fix broken parts of the site and don't keep the customers happy, check also all the negative reviews on reddit.
Producer academy is broken, they don't respond to support requests for billing issues when they overcharge you, refuse any and all refunds and the content is not as good as what you might find on youtube. The featured artists don't teach you production, just tips it is some other guy teaching mostly and it is mostly focused on beginners. The videos with diplo and parisi are casual 'tips and tricks' but they are a bit all over the place and don't give any big insights.
Better off just browsing free stuff on youtube. waste of money

The core of the course is delivered through a structured learning path created by our internal education team, which ensures continuity, clarity, and progression.
The role of our guest tutors — including artists like Diplo and PARISI — is to add real-world insight, creative perspective, and industry experience on top of that structure. Their sessions are not meant to replace the core curriculum, but to complement it with practical ideas, mindset, and workflow approaches drawn directly from their careers.
Regarding the billing point mentioned: the charge referred to the annual Campus subscription that renewed this year, as outlined during checkout and in the account area. That said, we understand that billing questions can always be clarified, and our team is available to review individual cases if needed.
The program is intentionally accessible to beginners while remaining valuable for intermediate producers who want structure, direction, and a complete system rather than fragmented content.

Great networking/talent pool, but the lessons were too shallow for skill-building
I enrolled in the Pete Tong DJ Academy on December 7 using a Beatport trial code because I wanted structured, step-by-step instruction to noticeably improve my DJing. After working through several chapters, I canceled because the teaching style didn’t support the kind of technical foundation I was looking for.
A lot of the course is high-level: brief explanations, a short demo, then “go practice,” without much breakdown of how to troubleshoot, what to listen for, or how to correct common mistakes. As a DJ building a streaming-focused workflow, I also found the material heavily centered on traditional club DJing and light on modern streaming/tech realities.
One “Learn to Count” lesson was the turning point for me: the way timing concepts were explained felt confusing and didn’t match standard definitions I’ve learned elsewhere, which made it hard to trust the course as a fundamentals resource.
The real strength (and the reason someone else might love it): the networking/community/talent pool angle. If your goal is meeting other DJs, getting visibility, and plugging into opportunities, that part may be genuinely valuable.
For my path, streaming-oriented performance and deeper technical instruction, the benefits didn’t justify $13-24/month.

Had been a member for a year paying…
Had been a member for a year paying monthly, tried to cancel the subscription but couldn't. They then took a full year payment out of my account without notification and refused to refund.
Update: PTDJA have now offered a refund but due to their automated customer care, as outlined below it was made much harder than it should have been. Managing your account still seems to be complicated and there is no easy way to ensure that no further auto renewal happens.

Honest Review NOT Worth the Hype or the Price
I know many people do everything possible to afford this academy because they believe it will truly help them improve, but honestly, it doesn’t. Nothing you’ll find here will make you a better DJ. There are hundreds of more affordable and efficient options out there.
What you actually get are just a few videos — more like interviews with famous DJs — but nothing truly practical or educational about Rekordbox, music library management, edits, or how to grow as a DJ in real terms. It feels more like a paid “club” where the goal is just to climb levels and earn points rather than actually learning.
I’ve already received more than ten emails asking me to pay for a monthly subscription even though I already paid over €500 the first time. It’s a shame.
If you really want to learn, I strongly recommend platforms like SEEDJ or Tomorrowland Academy, or even investing in private lessons with a real DJ. Don’t waste your time or money here — they don’t care about you.

The DJ course you purchased for €500 is a one-time purchase and remains yours for life. There is no expiration date, and you do not need to pay anything further to retain access to that course or its content.
The monthly subscription you later received emails about was introduced after your purchase and is completely optional and separate from the DJ course you already own. This subscription applies only to newly added programs, such as music production and mix & mastering, along with ongoing resources and tools that were developed as the academy expanded. As our platform grew, we chose a subscription model for these additional materials to avoid requiring students to pay another large upfront fee.
Regarding the course content, our academy is designed to offer a well-rounded education, combining technical DJ skills such as music library organization, track selection, workflow, preparation, and performance structure with broader professional topics, including artistic identity, mindset, career development, and industry insight. While some students focus primarily on technical instruction, others find equal value in the strategic and creative aspects of building a sustainable DJ career. We understand that learning preferences and expectations can vary from person to person.
There are many valid paths to becoming a DJ, and no single program can be the perfect fit for everyone. That said, we take all feedback seriously and continuously work to improve both our communication and the overall learning experience.

The most comprehensive DJ course available, but so much more than just the technical 'how to' instructional stuff. PTDJA is also a vibrant community of like-minded DJs and producers, but that not all either! The Academy has a very clear path to take you from beginner to pro levels and gives students every single tool and opportunity they need to progress to the world's biggest stages. You won't find anything else like this anywhere and I highly recommend joining if you're serious about becoming a professional DJ.
