I've been very happy with the service we receive from Pergevity, the premiums are fair, the lifetime cover is exactly that and the access to first vet is invaluable.

Always been great with my rather complex claims!

I’ve had a great experience with this pet insurer. Some time ago I made my first claim for one of my dogs, and the whole process was incredibly quick, straightforward, and hassle-free. The claim was handled efficiently, and everything was settled much faster than I expected. It’s reassuring to know my pet is covered by a company that makes things so easy when you need them most. I would definitely recommend them.

Easy to look on website and view policy. Clear communication regarding policy and renewal process.
There is always a means of speaking with someone regarding policy and any changes that need to be made.

You find out how good your pet insurance is when you need to make a claim. I cannot fault how Petgevity have dealt with my claims. I had to say goodbye to one of my cats, recently and the compassion and professionalism Petgevity showed me, was faultless. They dealt with my claim promptly and without question. I have already recommended them to family and friends

I looked carefully before renewing my border terrier's insurance at age 11. He had developed an underlying chronic pancreatitis, this was well managed, and petgevity appeared to have fewer exclusions related to his digestive system than other providers, so I was prepared to pay the £67 per month premium.
My beloved dog sadly developed blood in his sneezes earlier this year. I took him to the vets who prescribed antibiotics to see if it cleared up. It didn't, so they referred him to the vet teaching hospital for diagnostic imaging, and at this point the hospital began his insurance claim.
We received the worst news possible, a terminal stage 3 complex cancerous tumour in his sinuses. Radiotherapy would only provide a maximum of 6 months additional time with us, 3 of which would be spent with 3 weekly radiotherapy sessions under GA. We felt we couldn't put him through that ordeal.
A week and a half ago, he had a seizure and we had to make the most heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to him.
Petgevity have been absolutely awful. I emailed them to explain he wouldn't need the renewal, but we would need to add euthanasia to his claim, not his cremation because we were self funding that. In the last week and a half I have had an email saying they are closing his claim because they couldn't get additional info from my vet, I tried to email customer service knowing I would be too upset to speak about it in a phone call. They responded with a standard message asking for his policy number and details, even though I had included this in my original email. I then got an unfeeling response saying I was covered for the cremation as I didn't add it as an extra. This wasn't what I had asked in the first place. I responded and said I will ask my vet to liaise with you. I then got a completely different response from a kind and empathic person, expressing condolences. Then I got another email this week with my original query, saying we haven't heard from you!! I emailed back and said you have, I have liaised with different people in relation to this query, and I wanted to make a formal complaint about the way they were handling my claim. I received a response today with the same original message, please tell us your policy number and details etc. Today I have collected my dog's ashes and settled his bill myself. I cannot face dealing with this atrocious company any more. I thought I was buying some protection and peace of mind, instead I feel they have done everything possible to avoid honouring my claim at the worst time possible. Absolutely do not recommend.

I'm not happy with the service offered by this insurance provided in terms of Renewal. Canceling auto-renewal on their website is deliberately difficult because they make you wait for Customer Service availability. If you inform them you've already switched insurance providers, they'll try to retain you with a reduced renewal quote. I have moved to Tesco Pet Insurance and they are much more competitive and saving money with the same piece of mind. The first thing that annoyed me at the start of the policy was the lack of a selection option to pick my cat breed. I have a British Longhair, but the platform only lists British Shorthair as an option. I had to call them to add a note about the breed, but I don't understand why they can't simply improve the list of breeds available on their platform. I done quotes with other insurance providers and they had it available and I have reported it when my policy started two years back and they still didn't make a chance since. Over the two years I had the policy, the renewal price consistently went up. I consider this a major obstacle that could discourage many meticulous people from proceeding with the policy. Additionally, the renewal process was an absolute failure. I've already purchased a new policy with Tesco Pet Insurance. They wouldn't allow me to cancel using a cancel button or stop the automatic renewal. Numerous companies offer a straightforward cancellation process, such as a simple drop-down menu for reasons or a feedback form. Implementing such a system would eliminate the need to interact with an agent who is often obligated to engage in sales tactics before processing the cancellation. Even if I explicitly stated that I have new policy at more competitive price, yet they still insists on me staying as this is the only moment when they can consider giving you a discount over the price that they increase on the renewal. For me this is an anti customer behaviour. We are in the 21st century and not everyone has time to deal with having to find time to cancel. It's straightforward to get a quote, but what I find baffling is the process of trying to cancel a renewal or a policy that automatically starts. They don't provide a simple way to stop the renewal, like a feedback form, and instead try to price match to keep you, even after you've already decided to cancel. This situation reminds me of times when Virgin Media and other phone companies, like Vodafone, made cancelling contracts really hard, and they were fined for anti-customer behaviour. I hope others have had similar problems and that this will lead to a better experience for all other customers.
