Stay away from Peugeot the worst car I have ever driven
Stay away from Peugeot - I have claim pending since last October and still nobody in Peugeot can either answer calls emails or contact me back regarding it. My Peugeot 2008 was only 6 weeks old when I started having pales with it. Broke down on the way to a wedding last October got it fixed in a main dealer and still waiting on the claim to be repaid out.. 78 emails and countless calls and NOBODY will take accountability for it.. stay away from Peugeot at all cost .
Stay away from Peugeot
Stay away from Peugeot
Scandalous service robbery in broad daylight as you walk away with your car-
5008 bought new 2020 - software issues and ad Blu issues numerous times - ended up in nov 2024 having to get whole new injectors and ad Blu tank due to being over the 100km I had to pay 800 Jan 2025 same engine fault shows - since my replaced 30km earlier - now told injectors gone and they caused damage to catalytic converter and to get my car back working it was now €2900 -
Between services and problems my just 5yr old car well maintained and looked after has cost nearly €7000 on top of the price when I bought. Peugeot response - non existence
Dealership response - that’s a Peugeot issue not a dealership issue
Unresponsive Customer Support – Connected Services Not Working Since Purchase
I purchased a Peugeot 3008 Full Electric (2025) in July, and since day one, the MyPeugeot Connected Services have never worked. The app always shows “Fail to connect, please try again later”, making it impossible to use key features such as remote climate control, charge status, or vehicle location.
I have followed all troubleshooting steps (factory reset, reinstall app, remove/re-add car) and contacted the Peugeot Ireland customer service multiple times by email and phone. Unfortunately, no one ever answers the phone (always goes to voicemail), and when they do reply to emails, it takes several days — with no concrete action.
They requested a connection log from the app, but the app only sends logs to UK Support, and the Irish team doesn’t seem to have access to them. My dealer (Kenny Galway Ltd) confirmed they are not trained to support Connected Services.
It has been over four months without any resolution or proper follow-up. I have now escalated the case to Stellantis Europe, as it is unacceptable that a brand-new electric vehicle’s core digital services remain unusable for this long.
I would expect Peugeot Ireland to improve their customer care responsiveness, provide a working escalation path, and ensure that customers can actually use the digital features they paid for.
Peugeot 3008
I purchased a Peugeot 3008 and the car developed AdBlue and DPF faults which seems to be a very common issues with Peugeot . My 3008 having only 40000km on the clock when said issues started . I reached out to Peugeot for support, but their customer service has been an absolutely abysmal.
I spoke to Donal in customer service, who was completely unknowledgeable—he clearly had no idea what he was talking about. Instead of getting proper assistance, I was left frustrated by his lack of knowledge and understanding .
Then, I received a call from Bernadette just as useless who is Donal’s supervisor . She was extremely rude, dismissive, and made no effort to help resolve the issue whatsoever.
Bernadette, advised me that I would need to bring my car to the dealership to have the existing issue that had already been diagnosed re-diagnosed. I was informed that I would be responsible for all associated costs, including transporting the car to and from the dealership and for the diagnostic work carried out . However, when I asked Bernadette what benefit this would provide, she was unable to give me a clear explanation. It seems that this process would only result in additional out-of-pocket expenses for me, without any clear justification. Extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency and the unnecessary costs being pushed on to me
Despite the low mileage, Peugeot refuses to take any responsibility or offer any assistance in fixing the problem. Unbelievable when the vehicle has only such low mileage. The lack of customer care is appalling. I would advise anyone considering purchasing a Peugeot to not to do so as they have nothing but faults and clearly from the
previous reviews you can see they all have similar if not the same issues as I have mentioned. They are a disgrace
Peugeot Warranty
I have a Peugeot 5008 (2020, only 43000km) which now needs 8000 euros of repairs.Car serviced (by Peugeot garage) at 14000 and 27000km (interval 15000) and not due a service for another 2000km. Peugot now won't take any responsibility (even discuss the warranty or some contribution for repairs) because it did nt meet the service schedule by year ie every year, not acceptable now it needs this scale of repair for such a low milage and serviced by Peugeot. Getting out of accountability on a technicality..for a company like Peugeot this is a disgrace..
Very bad customer service
Very bad customer service. After buying the car, there is recall on the car and issues, called many times but no support. There are hundreds of brands with better quality cars and customer service. Veru annoyed at the way customers are treated.
Peugeot 5008 under warranty in terms of…
Peugeot 5008 under warranty in terms of years and miles, Peugeot not covering failure of timing belt even though it’s clearly a defect and lots of people having the same issue. Called garage and garage basically told me they’d do anything to get out of paying warranty. Customer service basically told me, not their problem and I’ve to pay almost €2,000. I will never buy a Peugeot again…..shocking aftersales!
I was sold a peugeot 208
I was sold a peugeot 208, 2014 from a David sheppard at peugeot garage bluebell for 9,500 euros. I was never told the car was an import and had multiple engine faults. I had cancer treatment the morning before it was sold to me, unfortunately I put my trust in sheppard and paid dearly, absolute conman.I would suggest to anyone thinking of purchasing a car from Mr sheppard and peugeot, NOT TO, In any capacity. They have been an absolute disgrace to my family and I. Stay away.
No help at all
Error warning appeared on my dash. Despite numerous emails Peugeot Ireland appears to have no understanding or knowledge about this error message or how to resolve it. When pinned down all communications stop. Would not be recommending Peugeot or buying Peugeot again. Wished I'd read all the one star reviews on here first
Don’t stand over their faulty parts
I have a Peugeot 3008 plug-in hybrid and a huge component of the car needed to be replaced. The car has very low mileage with full Peugeot service history but they refused a goodwill request. The car is 4 years old and I am looking at a €5,500 bill to get it fixed. I will never buy another Peugeot. Steer clear and go for a brand that stands over their product.
Beware of Peugeot Ireland & its 5 year warranty
I have had a call from Peugeot Ireland to communicate that my 4 year old 3008 model needs a new engine and they will not cover the cost of this under warranty.
My car is 4 years old and well within the 5 year warranty timeline.
I purchased my Peugeot 3008 car in February 2020 at windsor airside.
It has a full service history . The last full service was complete this year in February 2024.
Since the purchase of this car in February 2020, there has been serious issues. From the car shutting down due to computer/software issues (this happened several times during the first 10 months in 2020 to engine issues (prior to this current issue, the last being July 2023 when the car had to be towed to Windsor Swords for investigation, checks and a new throttle). During all of these previous issues, I was again, without the use of a car while my New Car was being fixed which took over a week per time.
There have been numerous Red Engine Fault Issues in the car, year 1, year 3 (last July) and this year (year 4).
The car is covered by a 5 year Peugeot Warranty - with my car being 4 years old with just 49,000 kilometers on the clock. It is also be covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, as the history of issues with this car since the beginning would make it unfit for purpose.
This means that one of the following should be positioned to me to resolve this issue:
1) Repair or Replacement
2) Refund on the entire purchase
Yet Peugeot are washing their hands of the situation, failing to contact me and will not cover the new engine cost despite the car being 4 years old and under warranty.
Beware before you pay 40,000 for a Peugeot.
NEVER BUY A PEUGEOT
NEVER BUY A PEUGEOT. I purchased a new Peugeot 3008 from Kenny Galway in 2021. The first issue I had with the car was in June 21 when the diesel cap would not open so I could not refuel. Luckily, i was under warranty but had to wait at the filling station for 2 hours for someone to come and fix the issue. Then about 6 months later, I had an engine fault light come on and this time it was something to do with emmissions. I had to leave the car to Kenny Galway for the day but when I asked for a courtesy car to get to work, I was told they would not supply one. Problem 3 occured the day before my family and I were due to go on vacation. The AdBlue light came on and I filled it up. But it still gave me a warning that the car would not start in 100km as I had no AdBlue. When I rang Peugeot they told me they would have to tow the car and I would need to get to Galway City, 40km from my home to pick up a rental or get a taxi to the airport. I am now out of warranty but I wanted to get the timing belt done as my mileage is 140k. Kenny Galway quoted me €800 for this work. The day of the repair I got a call from them stating the Timing Chain needed to be done also so the cost had now risen to €2,500. The timing chain is a part of the engine which is supposed to last the lifetime of the car. A thin faulty timing chain was put into the 3008 on manufacture and there was a recall to change these chains. But mysteriously, my car did not qualify under the recall but yet the lifetime part needed to be replaced at a cost of €2.5k?????. Then today, the AdBlue light came on again stating I have 200km left despite the tank been full. I contacted Kenny Galway this morning and they told me they need to run diagnostics but they are booked up for the next two weeks. I questioned if they could supply me with a car but the answer was NO. I asked how I am supposed to get to work, and was told not their problem. Kenny Galway Customer Service at its best!!!!! So my advise is AVOID KENNY GALWAY AND AVOID PURCHASING A PEUGEOT 3008. Go anywhere else and buy any other brand of car. Both the product and the supplier are terrible and if possible i would give both a zero rating and that would still be more than they deserved.
Lane assist on 241 activating on roads with no lanes
Bought a new peugeot 3008 diesel 241. After 5 months the lane assist is picking up lanes on road that dont have any lanes resulting in the car pulling you to the left. Car has already been at peugeot dealer twice and they state that this is not a failt and they described this as 'a feature of the car". Awaiting an independant assessment of the car following legal advice. Stay away from.peugeot this is my third and last one
New Peugeot nightmare
Just over 3 weeks it took to give me a courtesy car, five weeks in still no word on my car, sitting in the Peugeot garage still waiting on parts, dreadful actually it's unbelievable,I think at this stage it's time to get a solicitor involved,
NEVER BUY A PEUGEOT
NEVER BUY A PEUGEOT - I had a problem with Adblue/ Engine fault error messages. These issues first occurred during my warranty period and then continued until I was at 102,000km when they resurfaced - Peugeot didn't care & wouldn't cover costs - I replaced the full Adblue system (at my own cost), which worked for a while, but now I get an Engine Fault error & an Amble Emission fault error - Peugeot says it needs a new engine & turbo, but will not cover the costs - the car is 5 years old. NEVER BUY A PEUGEOT
may be no star is more appropriate
may be no star is more appropriate. I have been waiting for a wing mirror for my peogeut 3008 three and half and still waiting. there has been no liaison from Joe Mallon Motors in Naas . it took 5 days for Peugeut customer care to return my call. if my mirror was actually broken my car would have been off the road for three and half months. I have so far has no explanation offered. very poor indeed.
Stay away from TRINITY MOTORS and PEUGEOT IRELAND
If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. Stay well away from this garage! We bought our car from here from Oliver September 2023. Peugeot 3008 2019. Christmas Eve 2023 the car broke down. After the holidays I went to my local garage who knew straight away what was wrong before even looking once he heard it was a 1.2 petrol. He said this is a very common issue (timing belt wearing away) and has been recalled in the past so he advised to go back to my dealer as it’s still under warranty. We did this. First we were told it would be a two week wait just for them to run diagnostics- we told them my local mechanic done this but they needed their own, fair enough. We pushed and we got them to run them a week earlier so we had to pay for the car to be towed down to them as it wasn’t safe to drive for obvious reasons even though they didn’t seem too worried (red flag). My partner explained to Saoirse on the desk that we had two mechanics look at it and they both confirmed timing belt and gave proof of previous recalls for this exact issue and that car was under warranty. We were first told ( when she thought we would be paying for it!!) that they would get parts straight away and it would be done asap. Remember this ( if we were paying it would be done straight away) did this happen? No! Peugeot agreed to do the work under warranty but that parts were not available right now and we would have to wait. We explained we were told by Saoirse they trinity could get parts straight away (she then denied saying this, of course)
So anyways that was all around 19-01-2024. One month ago the parts finally arrived with trinity but they couldn’t fit us in until 20th March!!!!! An absolute joke. So only now this evening have we got our car back. It went to them clean as we cleaned it inside and out before it went and it arrived back to us with green all on windows and a slow puncture. My partner pointed these out and Saoirse just replied oh we only done what we had to do by Peugeot. Imagine a garage couldn’t put air into a tyre? Wipe the windows down? And Oliver then arrived to chat and said oh come back to us again we will look after you. Oh because you have done such a great job so far haven’t you! And we are not the only ones I know of another family who not once but atleast four times had to bring their car back to be repaired for the same issue. Stay away from this business!!! They do not care!
Excellent.
Bought a new e208. Couldn’t speak highly enough of Neil from Trinity Peugeot Wexford who was a fantastic throughout the process. Really went above and beyond to look after me. Highly recommended, hope to do business again in the future.
left my van in trinity motors last…
left my van in trinity motors last october every time i ring to check always told waiting on peugeot to ring us back van is 192 reg not good service and we have seven of the same vans wont be getting anymore
Buyers Beware
I am deeply disappointed with the Peugeot Partner van I purchased for my business in July 2021. Despite the fact that the timing chain is supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle, it broke after only 80k miles (130km) on the clock. This was the main reason I chose this model, as it had a chain and not a timing belt.
The customer service experience from both the dealer and manufacturer main office in Dublin has been beyond disappointing. After the van had to be towed to the nearest garage to determine the issue, Peugeot refused to in any way resolve the issue or meet half way in providing the parts at cost price considering the fault was on a known issue and a part not meant to fail. The cost to fix the issue was an exorbitant €1800.
It is frustrating to learn that the issue was known to Peugeot, as the replacement part was a modified 9mm chain rather than the 7mm chain originally fitted, indicating a design flaw. Despite this knowledge, Peugeot still failed to compensate for the issue.
Peugeot's refusal to take responsibility for the timing chain issue was compounded by the fact that they cited the fact that the van had been worked on by the garage it was towed to, as a reason for not offering any support. It is important to emphasise that this step was necessary to determine the problem and was beyond my control. However, Peugeot still chose not to provide any assistance or support in this matter. This level of inconsideration and lack of accountability is simply unacceptable.
It is clear that Peugeot don't value customer satisfaction and loyalty. Knowing that a lifetime part has failed after only 2 years, and with the problem occurring in other vans with a modified part, they still chose not to support their customers.
If your thinking of buying a van, I strongly advise you to reconsider purchasing a Peugeot and to take my experience as a warning. The lack of support and care for their customers is simply unacceptable. They didn't even want to talk about a replacement van while my business van was off the road for this period.
There were other poor levels of service and response from JJ burkes the Peugeot dealer in the 10 days I was dealing with this included refusing to provide a contact name or email address for who they spoke to in Peugeot head office in Dublin quoting data protection when this necessary business to business information is not under the remit of GDRP. This further frustrated the process only providing the main switchboard number and having to explain the previous week's correspondence again to Donal. Again completely unnecessary and poor level of service.
I will be taking my business elsewhere and will be advising others to do the same. I will be looking towards more reliable and customer service-focused companies such as Toyota or Citroen.
It is a shame that a company would rather lose future sales and positive reviews than to make an effort to rectify their mistakes.
