Originally contacted them through Checkatrade and immediately received several calls, a visit was arranged and I waited - person did not appear, they had made a date mistake, so I agreed a replacement date, on that day plumber called to suggest coming early - I responded 'yes please' but apparently not received and then two hours into agreed time slot another call to try and push to another date - seems to me this level of inefficiency/complacency is too much of a red flag for me at least

Needed help and Handy Experts did not disappoint. Had one of their really friendly and efficient teams in within the week (it was not an emergency). Everything sorted out within a day. Thanks!

I booked an appointment for an electrician to replace a double socket where 1 socket wasn't working; and fit a fused spur switch as I was replacing my gas cooker with electric. The appointment was booked a few weeks in advance. A young man arrived 1 hour before the 5-hour afternoon appointment window and replaced the double socket in 10 minutes. He then spent a long time on his mobile phoning his boss about the other matter as he didn't know what to do. At the end of the hour he went home.

The job report the next day said he'd finished the task of replacing the double socket, and given a quote for installing the spur switch & it requested payment of £156 (1 hour's work + VAT + £20 materials). I said I was unhappy with this and received a reply which said the hour covered a number of things inc travel time & various overheads. And quoted £500 + VAT to come out again to fix the spur switch.

My concerns:

I was given to expect all the work would be done at the one appointment. The young man was sent towards the end of the appointment window and was being trained on the job. And I'd been led to understand when booking that the £110 + VAT hourly weekday charge was for time actually spent on the job.
The further quote of £500 + VAT was simply fantastical.

I got a reputable local electrician to install the spur switch. He was very experienced and the job took him about 40 minutes for a fraction of the handyexperts' £500 + VAT quote.

I needed a new electric light switch and ordered one through Amazon. Handyexperts organised an electrician and he arrived on time and it took 5 minutes to put in new switch. The charge was £137 - astronomic

Got my Boiler serviced by Handy Experts very friendly and professional

An honest plumber who gave a realistic assessment of the site rather then the one which would net him the most money, unlike another company I had in recently, who worried me unnecessarily, with talk of a hugely expensive replacement.

Technician was friendly and offered help where he could. He explained what was happening and made suggestion of what icould do next.

Fast, efficient and easy

Gas engineer who attended the job was the best I have ever experienced as far as his knowledge and skill are concerned. He was right on time and friendly
The Office staff is extremely good and helpful as well.

Excellent effort by electrician Darren. Tricky fault to diagnose, and delivered a practical fix.

Andy phoned ahead of time to let me know he was on his way. He talked me through what he was doing to the boiler and why and provided me with a gas safety certificate. He was very professional and also very friendly so we had a great chat too about other things. I would definitely recommend this company to others. I feel completely confident that this is money well spend on maintaining my boiler and that the work was done honestly and with care.

Called Handy Experts for a quick and realible resolve to fit the new cooker hob to electical point. No fuss and professional finished at the right price.
