Absolutely amazing

Absolutely amazing! went on all the top rides (3x taron, fly, 3x maus au chocolat, 2x die 3 mausketiere, 2x black mamba, mystery castle, 2x geister rikscha, feng ju palace, raik, wurmling express, das veruckte hotel tartuff, chiapas, colorado adventure) Taron was my absolute favorite and also bought a shirt, rookburgh was my favorite theme zone and maus au chocolat my favorite dark ride (my mom loved it) ate 2 times at rutmors taverne. Everythings so beautiful themed (except geister rikscha and feng ju palacr but we skip that part😅) i loved the mascots too! and die drei mausketiere was many times better than fabula at efteling😝 and i just realised i didnt see any of the lights or technics or things you dont really wanna see, so good job on that! even walking through the park was a ride on itself. I loved how the employees all had different outfits. and there were so much details in everything so i pointed some things out on my family. I loved how long the layouts of the coasters were (except raik, but raik was still very good) AND THE SECOND LAUNCH ON TARON SO. GOOD. Bought a shirt of taron. Rock on ice was also a very enjoyable show! The music in the park was phantastic (see what i did there?) but maybe more recognizable themes that get in your head would be better like efteling does (but i dont blame you, its still VERY VERY good and still listen to the music on spotify) i loved the bratwurst, schnitzel and kaiserschmarrn, they dont know bad food over there. the waiting times were very long though and the quick pass has a bit TOO much priority. The chocolate smell in maus au chocolat was good though and the park is very compact with that amount of space so really nice work. thank you for giving me an amazing 2 days!

Disney wannabe but rude staff

Very Disney wannabe but the staff are rude. Colorado way the staff were literally huffing and puffing and being absolute Karens. Inaccessible to disabled guests, stairs everywhere, uneven grounds, emailed them info for disabled guest passes and evidence and was sent a link and told to bring in evidence on day of visit also, did so and ended up waiting around 1 hour to enter the park with some staff members being unhelpful and just lacking any sort of empathy. Super expensive! The rides have 70 mins waiting times and extremely overcrowded and busy!

The staff was unfriendly and…

The staff was unfriendly and unprofessional. The manager even took photos of me while I was sitting in my car and honking, which felt inappropriate and intimidating. When I tried to give feedback, I was completely ignored. Instead of listening, they turned their back on me and showed no interest in addressing the issue.

The parking situation is very poorly indicated. We were wrongly directed and sent to drive all the way to the hotel, only to be told to turn around again at the roundabout.

In addition, the waiting times were excessive — up to 70 minutes. The place was overcrowded, chaotic, and far too busy to be enjoyable. Despite the high price, there is very little to offer for small children, who still have to pay full admission. Overall, the service and organization were extremely disappointing.

Problem quickpasses

We experienced problems with our Quick Passes. My friend and I decided to use them at the "Colorado Adventure" roller coaster. However, when the staff tried to scan our passes, the scanner rejected our vouchers (even though the dates on them were correct). The staff member told us we could not use them. At first, she didn't give any explanation. After we insisted, another staff member briefly looked at the vouchers and said she also didn't understand why they weren't working, but suggested that we "just ask our hotel."

The problem was that this was our last day at the park. We had already checked out of the hotel and were about to leave, so asking the hotel was no longer an option.

Additionally, the hotel itself (Ling Bao) was very hot, the parking spaces for hotel guests were hard to find, and the hotel was quite expensive. The park staff were also often rude and very direct.

To end this review on a somewhat positive note, I do want to mention the roller coaster "The Fly" was really fun and immersive.

Fun, but not worth the trouble

Frankly, it was a nice experience, and we mostly got what we paid for. We spent the night at Hotel Ling Bao, a themed space with a restaurant, a pool, a bar, etc. The rooms were very hot, but it wasn’t extremely bothersome.

The park itself had some great attractions; we loved F.L.Y. the most.

However, I wouldn’t recommend it. There was constant chaos in the park, the hotel, and the parking areas. By chaos, I mean poor organization and a lack of communication.

Upon arrival, there was barely any direction to the parking area, and the staff wasn’t helpful. In the hotel itself, organization was deficient: restaurant times were poorly advertised, instructions were unclear, and for some reason, staff went around waking people up in the morning.

In the park, there was a constant smell of cigarettes and vapes. We had Quick Passes included in the hotel “bundle,” but they were rejected by the scanner. We weren’t given any explanation beyond a vague “ask your hotel.” Some staff didn’t listen at all or didn’t speak English or German, and were overall quite rude. (This is by no means directed at all staff.)

I would like to mention that we were well prepared and tried to adapt, but that didn’t make the difficulties any more enjoyable to deal with.

This was our first time visiting Phantasialand, and it will likely be our last. I honestly wouldn’t recommend it. The experience was fun at times, but there were so many problems that it didn’t feel worth it, though I’m aware this can be the case with many amusement parks.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

Extremely bad organization

They oversell tickets way over capacity. Result ? Long lines 1h-1h30 easily for main attractions. They sey the attactions are open till 20h. But already at 18h30 they block all circulation, because of the firework show which is at 19h50. The parking is overcrowded, 1h30 to quit it. Avoid at all costs!

Negligent - no one checked our seatbelts on the Mystery Castle!

Phantasialand is a nicely presented park with some great rides, albeit hugely overpriced. We were enjoying our day until a friend and I went on the Mystery Castle freefall tower.

There were no staff around as people walked in to the ride and sat themselves down. Riders were expected to secure their own harnesses, if they were able.

I was not able to secure my harness. There was not enough slack on the strap for me to loop it round and insert it into the locking mechanism. As the ring of seats started to climb, I called out for it to be stopped, but of course there was no one to hear me but other riders.

I went the entire 65 meters down with an unbuckled harness, holding on for dear life. It was terrifying. Fortunately I am quite strong in the upper body but it is horrifying to imagine a child being in this situation.

With the death of a child in 2022 at the ICON park in Canada due to a safety harness issue on a freefall tower still in recent memory, this negligence is simply unfathomable.

I emailed the park the very next day expecting an apology and assurances that this was an isolated incident, but it is now two weeks later and still no one has bothered to reply.

I am at a loss for words. No one cares anymore and human life is cheap these days, it seems. Phantasialand owners are simply too greedy to pay minimum wage to a few ride operators to keep visitors safe.

Phantastic park which I visit monthly!

But I never go on weekends. Saturdays are the busiest days! Avoid at all costs.

Even during the week, it can get insanely busy. it’s like people don’t have to work or go to school… be sure to check for holidays and school breaks in all neighboring countries (Netherlands, Belgium, France, even the UK)!

a very important tip: do not(!!!!) queue for Taron in the morning. you’d think you’d get on faster, but almost everyone wants to ride it first. as a result, you’ll be waiting a long time while other attractions have wait times of only around 15 minutes. do Taron later in the day, ideally when most people are taking a lunch break ;)

their veggie/vegan options (from coffee and pastries to Chinese food and pizza) are actually quite good. no complaints there. (as far as I know, the only vegan coffee is available at Lily's Coffee, right before the entrance to the Rookburgh area. they use pea protein based drinks as an alternative, from the brand VLY (barista edition) really yummy!) you can find more info about vegan food on their website!

however, I’m giving one star less because i think they sell just a bit too many tickets on any given day.

3 more golden tips:
1: buy your tickets months in advance (or via TicketSwap)! you’ll get a much better deal that way.

2: they have locker rooms! I didn't know this until I checked a video of a Youtuber sharing tips about the park. you pay a 5 eur fee and get a wristband to open/lock the lockers.

3: if you want to get on the water rides, dress accordingly or bring a poncho. you will need it

NOT handicap friendly

Honteux.

Beautiful and yet ugly park

Beautiful park, these guys know how to theme.
The entry price however is not so pretty, and the prices for food and drinks are downright ugly.
Don't come here if you are in a wheelchair. They hate people in wheelchairs. No facilities for them, except the toilets.
On busy days, don't come if you dont like waiting longer than 60 minutes on average for the coasters. The electronic sign for the queue-line says 40 min but usually when you stopwatch the time: it's double. It's awful.
Toilets and streets are being kept clean all day long, that's a big positive.

Theming is incredible

We went for a long weekend, going into the park 2 days, we stayed at the H Hotel, recommended if on a budget.
The park is just wow, the theming is next to nothing else I've seen, gives Disney a run for it's money. Most we queued was 30 minutes, we found Monday busier then the Sunday. Lots of re-rides. Taron is just phenomenal, we managed 3 rides on this! F.LY. is themed so well and such a unique smooth ride. Even the toilets are themed for the areas. Wish we had stayed on site in one of the hotels, next time!

Great Park, good food, but room for improvement

We've been to the park now three times,at different times of year. It was surely not the best time to visit,at the height of summer, and although we enjoyed our day,(as always) there were some things we were disappointed in. Firstly: the waiting time and conditions:waiting time is expected, but 65 minutes,(as it was by Chiapas...and it was actually much longer than that) is not acceptable. Also the waiting lines were so crazily planned,(winjas fear and force) that,if you were unlucky to have one person infected with Covid,(There are no more checks or mask wearing rules) I reckon you could start a new epidemic,(My opinion..more than a hundred people in a tiny waiting area). As it was hot,we brought our own drinks...which was good as a small bottle of water costed more than 3 euros. Also the bus transfer was much too full,(although the conductor was very friendly) I don't think that being told to,"cuddle up and be friendly" 8n order to make more space to pack people in a very clever idea in the current crisis. Note: there were also people on the bus not wearing masks. My own pet peeve was the area,"Berlin". I like this area so much for it's nostalgic feeling...some why change the original soundtrack for cheap pop copies...it ruined the atmosphere for me. Sorry this report sounds so negative..as I said we did enjoy our day despite the above,(particularly the fast food which was..unlike the water..reasonably priced)but hopefully constructive criticism is always well received...

it is a great park that is constantly…

it is a great park that is constantly upgrading their attractions. I have been going here since around 20 years and it is interesting to see all those changes. Some of the nostalgia is gone though, but they always have something interesting as replacements.
Prices inside are quite high and it can be crowded.
