Well thought out that offers plenty of variety

By far the most complete and well thought out fantasy football league I have been part of, and have been able to find... and I have looked very hard, and used at least 7 different leagues now . Love the multiple styles of leagues you can be part of, particularly "victory" which uses a point system to chart standings based off of wins/losses and points you scored that week. The scoring rules make sense and reward you accurately. For example, it used to erk the hell out of me when my defense would lose points, when there opponent's defense scored. Why should my def suffer, when they weren't even on the field! Speaking of defense, I loved that it utilizes both points allowed and yards allowed, giving a much more accurate description of there overall performance. Everything being a decimal system, from the QB to the kicker is a big plus as well.

I prefer for leagues being able to patrol themselves regarding trades, regardless how good or bad the trade is for either team, and only having the commissioner step in when blatant collusion is occurring. On numerous occasions the commissioner voided a trade because in his opinion they felt it was one sided. Again, I say leave "opinion" up to the participants. I'd like to see stats of players and free agents/waiver wire on the same screen. I understand thats a myfantasyleague issue though.

Best, most trustworthy online fantasy sports site I've found.

I can't express how happy I have been with Phenoms since finding the site prior to Fantasy Football in 2012. Much better than any other fantasy site I've tried, "cough" FSRU.com "cough." Much more honorable (despite the fact that I've actually "won" more on other sites, I've at least never had to worry about actually getting my winnings from Phenoms, which I feel is a very common worry when doing stuff online.

Excellent service, very trustworthy.

I started with Phenoms because of the excellent rate of return on prizes, and stayed because of the service. I've now moved all my fantasy football leagues to Phenoms and see no reason to play anywhere else.

clunky interface really hurt experience

First year trying out your site. I like how competitive it is, but I found the site to be very clunky. I have leagues using sportsline.com, espn.com, and yahoo.com and all 3 have much cleaner, sharper, more robust, and easier to use interface, including great mobile option. I could not even get the mobile app to adjust my line-up for your site. I would much rather have the league run on espn.com, even if it meant less functionality.

The good news is that Phenoms is developing a whole new interface for 2014 to address these concerns. Hope to impress you in 2014!

Good communication

I enjoyed getting notes from the commissioner weekly and keeping players up to date on changes and rules. There are something's that are obvious to guys like me who have played this game for over 20 years and your league shows you have been involved since the beginning.
Its a credit to all of you at this site

Tone Down the PK's

Nicely run draft and the Commissioner will respond to issues if you notify him. Everything during the season is automated which is both good and bad. No warmth to the leagues and entry is first come first served so there is no geographic rivalries other than by happenstance. The trophy history is inaccurate but that isn't really very important and the overall experience is good. League scoring is only fair. Kickers get too many points as an example and a bad day by your kicker affects the result far more than it should. Points for yards gained by runners isn't enough. In this league a running back gaining 85 yards isn't as good as a kicker who kicks two 45 yard field goals. Field goals should be three points unless 45 yards or longer.

I think Phenoms has too many problems for me to return my business

Mike knows some of the deep concerns I have with the trading system and how it needs to be revamped. Another big problem with Phenoms is the regular season is to long. By the time week 16 comes around several teams have lost interest. When a team does not set a line-up due to not being in the chase for the playoffs/points lead they stop setting line-ups. This has an overall impact to the league and future seeding for the playoffs. In turn effecting how things finish and who wins or loses money. The more optimal way to do things would be making the season points chase 14 weeks and the playoffs starting in week 15.
Another big issue is the waiver wire system....its very difficult to navigate and get set every week. That solution needs to be reworked through programing and the owner.
At this present time I will not be returning to Phenoms next year. My 12 leagues will be moving to a better run site.

*edit*
I would also like to address a very confusing situation of collusion that happened in our $500 TAU400. I'm a pretty understanding owner overall, but when there is clear obvious collusion in a league of this stature and the parties involved in the collusion admit to wrong doing, I personally think some type of compensation is owed to the other customers. I would have liked to have seen Mike step up a little and own him being on the road and not being able to oversee the issue in a timely manor. Him waiving his fees for the league, or something would have been a nice small gesture to say I'm sorry. As for the owners involved I also think they should have been either punished with wins taken away or some type of restriction.

Good luck Mike...you have a lot of work to do in my opinion.

I do want to add one more thing to this review that I feel is fair. I do trust Mike. I think he has the best intention for his customers. I may give Phenoms another chance in the future provided some things change.

Well, as we both know we are a long ways from telling the whole story. Trading Jordan Read straight across for Robert woods was not a fair trade. After Read blows up for 28.4 the week before. In fact the guy getting Woods in the trade had 6 WRs who were better and Heath Miller only for TE. We can't forget to add these two trading were Uncle and Nephew. This was the first "player dump" these two teams had made this year either, it was more like the 3rd or 4th.

The part you don't see from this side of the fence is the part where the team who got Jordan Read made a huge blockbuster type deal with another owner 6 minutes after acquiring Jordan. Closing any possible trades that could have been made. I was currently in negotiations with the other team involved when all of this happened. We were talking a lot throughout the day. So don't just sit there and say it has no affect on the league because it does.

Am i bitter about it......yeah a little.

Thanks for expressing your concerns, Craig. I will be adding more commissioners to review trades, so that will be addressed. The waiver wire process and interface will be upgraded for sure in 2014. I agree that it's cumbersome. The playoffs do start in week 15, so unless I change some leagues to have 6 teams instead of 4 make it, that will remain the same.

Adding: the owners involved your league with regards to collusion were not allowed to win any prize money and they didn't. The trades they made were not grossly unbalanced, but rather they were a little too friendly in trading with one another. It was a situation that I have learned from and will improve upon handling in the future. Neither was permitted to win any prize money.

Simply The Best

I was fortunate to trip across Phenoms FF a few years ago and honestly have nothing else to compare it to, but with that being said, I simply cannot imagine a better place to play FF sports (I do football only). Mike Zangrilli is a hands on commissioner that lets you enjoy yourself without getting in the way.
Also, the team owners who make up the leagues all seem to be pretty good guys --- and gals, but I wish they'd be inclined to trade a little more :)

Solid and Enjoyable Fantasy Site!

Phenoms has proven itself to be a fun, dependable source of fantastic fantasy competition. Great that it offers contests from multiple sports, and a variety of options within each. Top notch all the way!

Oddly enough, Phenomsff feels like a small private league...it's as if the commissioner only manages a few dozen TEAMS, not dozens of LEAGUES.

Major reason I stay with PhenomsFF would have to be the commissioner. He is always attentive to issues and conflicts that might arise and he is considerate to the feelings of all parties involved. Mike also responds individually to questions/requests etc. and I get the feeling that he has 'nourished' the relationships he has with probably hundreds of team owners and in all the leagues I have been, I have seen and heard similar sentiments from other team owners....it is truly PHENOMENAL!!!
