This is a company that stands by its product. The craftsmanship and functionality of their gloves are superb. There is a noticeable attention to every aspect of the product. I have purchased 5 different pairs of gloves from Philleywood and quality has been absolutely consistent. Customer service is top-notch. Have a question or concern? Ask. Fantastic gloves, great quality. I was looking for a pair of minimal leather gloves, and these are thin enough that they don’t prevent me from executing tasks requiring maximum dexterity when wearing. Excellent in every facet of the transaction. What an incredible product these gloves are, I got the Gambit and Mirage models, both superb quality and construction, complete with a handy card with proper care suggestions while highlighting the small-batch nature of the piece. Truly hand crafted excellence and not a splurge you will regret. I have a pair of Engelmuller’s that these pairs are certainly worthy of sharing company with! Definitely recommend rounding your size down if between sizes, as recommended by Phil.

These are definitively the best gloves I’ve ever owned. I feel like it’s a rarity for niche products to have such fine craftsmanship nowadays. I discoverd Philleywood in 2019 through a mutual friend and have acquired 4 pairs since then. Paul made every transaction easy, and his advice was always professional. More than that, it's especially his passion that impressed me. As a Swiss guy, I love quality, whether it's a watch, a car or a cheese ! I purchased the Phillywood/Mission Workshop collab Varis gloves (sold out) a little over 3yrs ago. These are the first pair I've ever bought from Paul at Phillywood, so even though he has a stellar rep, I wanted to wait a while before I posted a review. I figure 3yrs (3 Winters/Fall) is long enough.

First off, even though the Varis is no longer available, IMO the workmanship, quality materials, and fit of the other gloves will translate over.

Use: Although the brand has a cycling vibe to it, I've never worn these gloves cycling. I wear mine generally in the Fall/Winter as a regular glove when I'm out and about. They definitely don't see "hard use" like my work gloves. IMO they're too nice for that anyway.

Fit: I normally wear a Large, so that's what I ordered and they fit well. I have a shorter pinky compared to my other fingers so the leather took a little work to get it to fit right, but that's on me not a ding on the glove.

I wear different kinds of gloves a lot, from motorcycle, shooting/tactical, ski, outdoor, etc...and I hate when gloves bunch up in the palm area when you grab something. Being sensitive to that, I'm happy to report that these gloves do not do that in the least.

Features: I like the addition of the touchscreen compatible index and thumb on both the left/right gloves. Its still easier with the gloves off IMO, but for some gross movements, it'll save you the trouble of taking off your gloves every time you want/need to interact with your phone. For example, I can't reliably type on the keyboard of my phone (iPhone Max) without constantly pressing the wrong buttons, but I can unlock my phone, swipe, open apps, and use my voice to txt, use maps, search a browser, etc...with my gloves on.

The gloves are lined in the palm area which adds a thin amount of padding. I'm not sure what kind of lining it is...maybe wool/cashmere? It's held up well. Theres a slight amount of pilling/fuzz but that's to be expected after 3 yrs. Theres definitely a lot of life left in the lining. The top/back of the hand portion, and fingers of the glove are not lined.

I've treated them Chamberlain's Leather Milk several times over the years, especially when they get wet. IIRC, Paul says not to get them wet, but I have several times every winter when it snows (spontaneous snowball fights with my kid, haha). Mine are made from reindeer hide, which I believe is like deer skin, so they stay soft even after getting wet and dry.

I will definitely buy another pair of his gloves in the future. They're made in the USA and he's a relatively small company....definitely worth supporting.

I am an avid cyclist. I have ridden paul’s gloves for years. Ridden them hard. While synthetic gloves pill and dissolve after a few rides, Pauls gloves, with their natural leathers and often handmade construction, stand the test of time.

On one occasion, I was hit by a car and took a skid. The gloves saved my hands from bad rash. I contacted paul and he restitched them for me. I highly recommend these boutique pieces for competition or recreation.
