Following my initial expression of interest in a car, Austin advised that because I was unable to view the car until the following weekend, I could pay a £200 holding fee on the vehicle. He assured me that this fee would be refunded as long as I came to test drive the vehicle.
At no point before the test drive did I commit to purchasing the vehicle. I don’t think most people would commit to buying a car without seeing it.
After the test drive I explained that I had another appointment to view a different car, at which point Austin remarked that had he known, he would not have taken the £200 holding fee. As a single woman I found Austin’s manner to be both unprofessional and intimidating.
I contacted them the next day to say I had decided not to buy the car due to my overall experience and the atmosphere during my visit. I asked for my £200 to be refunded to me which was met with hostility.
I have since purchased a vehicle from another dealer where the experience was significantly more positive and extremely professional.
The money has still not been refunded. I have now filed a court claim against them after they have failed to contact me to resolve the matter.
I would not advise anybody to buy a car from them and certainly do not pay any money in advance of a test drive.
They have it seems other court cases pending from other unhappy customers.
I’m sure they will try to discredit me or say it was all a misunderstanding but they have taken £200 and not returned it which boils down to theft.

Extremely Poor Experience ~ Test Drive.
Arranged a test-drive which never happened. Wasted a a couple of hours driving to and from the back-end of Winchester only to be told that because I wasn't ready to purchase immediately, I would actually not be allowed to test drive the car. Maybe that could have been explained when arranging the appointment over WhatsApp!?
Extremely poor and out-of-touch customer service. Ironically, I was willing to purchase immediately but who wants to commit to that before even test-driving a car?
My advice for anyone considering purchasing from them is to tell them that you're ready to buy on the day - otherwise, you will simply have your time wasted. Based on my experience alone, avoid.

I recently purchased a car from Phoenix. After being stung by a totally different car sales 2 years ago I was extremely cautious about buying a car again. From the very 1st visit to Phoenix my mind was put at ease by Dalton, there was no pressure I was just left to look around the car myself and my mechanic friend who I had took with me, Dalton had no problem with the car being looked over thoroughly. I decided to purchase the vehicle as it fell in love with it. I returned 5 days later and Austin sealed the deal with me, explained all about the warranty etc. I can't thank the Austin and Dalton enough for helping put my mind at ease. Would highly recommend Phoenix. Thanks guys 😄

Austin was a great help & didn’t try and press for a sale. He gave me the keys & all of the time that I needed & left my mechanic husband to thoroughly inspect the vehicle. We test drove the vehicle on 2 different occasions & Austin was honest & upfront with us. This is my first time experiencing a no pressure car sales environment & it was actually a pleasant experience. Thanks Austin!

"Fully Refundable" - Not Quite.
TL;DR
1. Their website offers reservation at £200, I was charged £250?
2. The "Fully Refundable" deposit wasn't explained very well, and certainly has some hidden criteria.
I initially spoke to Dalton, he was very nice and approachable throughout the whole process, and I fully admit my part of unintentionally giving these guys a bit of a run around.
Naturally, I was looking around quite a few potential new cars, and found one at Phoenix that I was interested in, told I could put down a refundable deposit to hold the car, and should it not work out, that will be refunded to me, so booked in on Sunday 22nd. In the interim, I came across another car from another place, and booked into see that car on the 24th.
I was unfortunately unwell on the 22nd, and asked to push the viewing back, which was accepted by the guys at Phoenix. I was able to make the 24th appointment on the other car, loved it, bought it.
Phoenix beat me to the call on the 25th and I apologised profusely for the mess around but I wouldn't be advancing with the sale. Understandably, there was a bit of frustration, and I was then quickly told that the previously fully refundable deposit was no longer refundable as I hadn't gone to see the car.
I get that its some cover for exactly this happening, but want to a) make sure that others are aware of the smallprint as it wasn't made particularly clear over the phone and b) had I known this, I would have came up to look at the car with zero intention of buying a few days later, meaning that they would have had even longer with the car held on deposit, meaning that I've effectively been penalised for keeping them informed.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Went to view the car and was given time to look at it at our leisure and then took it out for a test drive. No pressure to buy whatsoever. Complete transparency during the sale. Would definitely buy from phoenix again.

I purchased a car for my wife and our growing family, anticipating a reliable vehicle. Unfortunately, our experience has been far from satisfactory.
Within minutes of driving the car, the supposed "work" done on it became apparent as it began leaking oil all over the brakes. To make matters worse, I was required to pay a percentage of the repair costs despite the issue arising almost immediately.
In the short span of three months since the purchase, the vehicle has spent two of those months in various garages. Upon consulting with a knowledgeable individual, it was suggested to plug the car into a diagnostic tool. This revealed numerous faults, the most alarming being mileage manipulation.
I reached out to the seller to rectify the situation, requesting that they either take the car back and return my part exchange or compensate me in cash. Unfortunately, they refused, leaving me with no option but to seek legal assistance.
This experience has been deeply disappointing and stressful, and I cannot recommend this dealership based on the level of service and the issues encountered
