Pickup music has been a revolution on my guitar playing and inspiration. As a song writer the content on Pickup music platform it's just amazing. High quality videos, PDF's, Tabs, Backing Tracks and teachers that are well known musicians with tons of top music released. I can't recommend enough.

Pickup music is a great forum and coloboration of deliveries to learn music on line.The people that teach are great including Sophie G on her melodic cage soloing. This takes CAGED to the next level and help us as guitarist break out of the scales to make music. thanks for the method and it was lovely to take the class and be in the community of Pickup Music

Probably THE online best guitar lesson services available right now and I’ve tried others. The ‘first person view’ camera angle is so clutch and makes the experience much better. Everyone should definitely try out the beginner pathway at a minimum.

This is exactly what I needed and I am happy that I found this courses! I've been playing guitar for more than 10 years and I mostly taught myself during this time. I wanted to work on the soloing but didnt know where to begin nor what kind of genre I want to play. The courses they offer helped me to figure out what skill I should work on, what genre I have been liking, what songs I should listen to to improve skills etc. The part that I liked the most is that they even make the practices fun! I always thought practicing pentatonic scales (or any scales) is super boring, but with their carefully-crafted courses and the 'jams', they succeeded in making those boring practices fun to do. I highly recommend this!

I strongly recommend Pickup Music to anyone who wants to improve their guitar playing. I have been fooling around with the guitar for years, just noodling and learning on YouTube videos. I even took some group lessons but didn't really get me anywhere. What's so great about these lessons are they tell you exactly what to practice and when. They quiz you, and also let you practice performances. I was shocked when I sent a video in for feedback and Ben actually took the time to go over the performance thoughtfully , giving great feedback. Things I never would have thought about on my own. I feel that I have evolved so much over the last 3 months, way more than I did over all the years I've been playing. I regret not asking questions more and sending more videos in for feedback. I will certainly do it more often because the team always gets back in a timely fashion.

A wonderful supportive community

I have had a great experience with Pickup Music! After one year of using this platform I feel like I have learned so much faster than the previous 2 years of in person lessons I've taken. The structure is the key for me. I can go back and replay as many times as I need to and at my own pace. The extremely talented and experienced instructors make it all make sense!

It's great to understand how the fretboard connects using the caged system to understand where the roots and notes are and how they connect. I'm still having trouble with shapes but working on it.

This is an awesome learning platform, I'm enjoying it very much. The teachers are wonderful, and try to keep things interesting and fun. The content of the Pathways is very well structured, so that even if you know some of the concepts you always find interesting things. And the fact that you can submit your exercise performances for review makes you have an active role, but without pressure and at your own pace, which is great (unlike going to your next private lesson knowing you can't really play your last assignments :)

I decided to start at the beginning to be sure not to leave any gaps as I advance. Ive been playing for a number of years with big gaps here and there. For me this has been a good refresher course to get back up to speed. Bar chords are still a bit of work.i do remember the days of just strumming a chord and slowly moving my fingers to the next. As Karl says be patient with your self it does take time. I think this is a great place for folks to begin their journey. I especially like that youve included some songs to learn on the way. That can be very satisfying.

Fantastic experience, easy to follow

I am a beginner but didn’t want to hire a traditional guitar teacher that I could only meet with occasionally and pay a lot for their time. I tried some of the guitar manufacturer apps but they didn’t give enough detailed guidance. I tried the Pickup Music trial for 2 weeks and was very excited about learning from a human and having a clear learning path to becoming a better player. I can see myself being a Pickup student for a long time.

Great for filling gaps with self taught guitarists

Beginners Lerning Pathways is grate way to start playing guitar. It is also a good start for people not playing for years and want to start playing again.

After all the online jazz materials that i have got into just to learn the genre of jazz I never really understood its concepts. Until I finally subscribed to pickup last October 2024 and took its Jazz learning pathway and honestly I learned a lot which I am thankful for. I just have one suggestion though and that if it is possible for you guys to make a harmonic minor masterclass similar to the 7 day melodic minor masterclass with Sam, I just think this way it would make some of the pathway’s material make more sense like some of the scales presented such as the phyrigian dominant which is a mode of the harmonic minor. The Country Pathways course is an great online guitar course taught by Daniel Donato. The course covers a variety of topics, including triads, scales, riffs, licks, and improv jams.

Daniel Donato is a sweet, earnest, friendly and approachable teacher. He is also a highly skilled guitarist and has a deep understanding of country music. He breaks down complex concepts into easy-to-understand steps.

The only criticism I might have is that some of lessons and jams assume you have all the material completely committed to memory, so I would suggest studying the source material fully before moving on.

It has been a challenging experience, but I can see progress. Maybe I don't do everything 100%, but I already know what things I need to keep working on.

I've always had a general idea of what CAGED is but never got much past the idea of it being different ways to play barre chords. I didn't see the value—why would I want to play that awkward G shaped chord anywhere but in the open position? The CAGED I course on Pickup helped me see the light. It really showed me how I could use CAGED to better understand the fretboard and chords, using those shapes not just to find different ways to play the same old chords, but to expand my range and my understanding of how music is made on the guitar. Molly Miller explains it so clearly and makes everything that used to just be theory to me actually practical.

After playing guitar for several years using both online videos and an in person instructor I stumbled upon Pickup Music.

After using the trial I decided this was what I needed. There's a lot of content, the pace is right and it's a fun way of learning.

The main reason I enjoy it so much is the fact that you can follow structured learning pathways. The pathways make sure you build up enough foundation/skills to move on to the next one.

It's also great to see that Pickup Music continuously strive to improve the platform. Questions by users are replied to, user remarks about the content or maybe a little mistake in a tab are responded to and corrected. At Pickup they take user feedback seriously and act upon it in a great way. They also involve a sense of humor in the lessons wich keeps it fun.

I'm sure i'll stick around since there is plenty for me to learn. I would definitely recommend giving Pickup Music a try!
