Beware
Beware! I had two really bad experiences with this company. I wanted to sell a stock before it tanked but because I had a password issue, I wasn't able to proceed with the sale. After reaching out to there customer support online, It took almost 48 hours to have the password issue resolved. Consequently, I wasn't able to sell the stock in time and the stock had tanked! Their Identity process was VERY painful and I had several issues with the link they sent to reset my password.
The biggest issue I recently had, was when I wanted to transfer money from my brokerage account to my external bank account. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do so because they had disabled my external bank account which was VERY alarming! Why would the company disable my external account? I verified that I had the correct banking information. It seemed very shady and concerning. After reaching out to several support staff online, It literally took me 48 hours to have my external bank account enabled . I needed the money to be transferred right away! It was a HUGE inconvenience!
Think twice before you use an online investment company, chances are they don't have anyone you can contact via phone for ANY kind of customer service issue you may have. Consequently this could cost you money in the long run. Prior to investing with Public, I did my research and it appeared that they had strong customer support, on the contrary, don't be fooled, it's anything but and there support is slow and inadequate.
