Positive experience

The tracker works, logs activity and allows, in most areas, you to track your dog. Products are of a high quality, loved by my dog.
Little rewards are generated by continually monitoring and also by using their pet insurance. Staff always supportive and keen to help.

The pitpat gps tracker is great and…

The pitpat gps tracker is great and I've been using it since it was released and before that the activity tracker. I've been using them since may 2020. The customer service when you have any issues is fantastic. I'm also using the pet insurance and the service is also exemplary. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

It is easy to use and provides…

It is easy to use and provides interesting info about our dogs activity. We have had one for three years. However the first one suddenly stopped working but Pitpat replaced it which was good. Now the second one has stopped working. So both units lasted about 18 months. I don't know whether this is typical or are the units only able to last that long? If so, it makes a bit expensive!

The customer service from PitPat is excellent. They responded to my query quickly and efficiently. PitPat is a great non-subscription based tracker which fits on any collar unlike some others. Fits my wide hound collar which not all trackers do.

Excellent, I know exactly where my dog is. She has tendency to follow/chase Roe Deer and can be a fair distance away and we are not looking for her in the completely wrong place.
Never lost signal.

Accurate recording of distance on a walk. I walk 1.27 miles and Bailey is on a long lead with me but it records 0.4 or 0.8 miles for Bailey ,so very dissapointed

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues registering the distance correctly on Bailey's device.

I've taken a quick look at the logs and it looks like you've adjusted the distance estimate by quite a substantial amount. This will affect the readings significantly and give you incorrect data. Any adjustments should always be assessed by our Support Team. We can then advise on how much to adjust by and if it is increase/decrease.

When you start reading on this company's website, it rapidly becomes clear that they are ethical and trustworthy. My GPS tracker arrived quickly and was well-packaged and in good condition. The PitPat app made it easy to set the tracker up and it looks like we are good to go.

v.poor speed of connection

v.poor speed of connection
slow app operation.
These combine to allow dog to be 400yards away.
completely out of sight .
When position was eventually posted it was in error, giving as being on the other side of an 8 ft wall in an industrial estate. A position impossible to be correct.

I'm sorry to hear you are having a poor experience with the live-tracking.

It doesn't look like you've reached out to us directly.

In order to save battery on your dog’s GPS tracker, it sits in a 'sleep' state, even when they are out on a walk and their activity is being logged. When starting a live-tracking session, the PitPat GPS is required to wake up and start to locate your dog. This can take a few minutes.

There are two things you can do in order to speed up this process:
Firstly, you can adjust how often the PitPat GPS gets in contact with us at HQ. Open the PitPat app and click on your dog’s profile at the top. Under PitPat Device Attached please select Adjust Setting. You can now select Urgent as an option and select Save in the top right hand corner

Secondly, the Start a Walk option. Go to the Location tab within the app. Before each walk select Start a walk.
This will wake the GPS up before leaving for your walk. We recommend clicking this just before leaving your house. Once live-tracking has begun, you’ll be able to find your dog almost immediately for the next three hours.

Just remember to End a Walk when returning home, in order to save battery.

The two above steps may mean that the GPS needs to be charged more regularly, but it should help to increase the speed to locate your dog.
