The best there is

As far as I can tell, Tony Duff (PKTC) is the most experienced and expert translator in the world. In having devoted his entire life to practice and translating for the greatest Tibetan teachers of our generation, it is no wonder that his texts and products are of the highest quality. Just read over his website a bit and you'll soon understand.

not worth the money

I bought the online version of the illuminator dictionary for Mac, and frankly felt I could have spent my money better. First of all, it's just too expensive. Secondly, it's really not that great, at least not any longer. The entries are good, better than any free online Tibetan dictionary out there, but still for the most part they don't give textual references. Thus it won't get you much farther than other online tools as to establishing a scholarly translation. Also, I was somewhat bothered by the PKRC's policy regarding newsletters, which I have received in abundance, but never asked for.
