Best app that’s ever happened to me!

I’ve tried every nutrition/meal plan out there, and PlateJoy is the most simple, time-saving, affordable, and flexible option there is. I have a hard time sticking to even four-week plans with other nutrition programs, because it’s so time-consuming to figure out the math and serving sizes for multiple people and there’s no flexibility when we need more or less meals in a given week. I’ve also tried services like Blue Apron, but the cost is just not worth it and I hate all the waste in packaging. I’ve been using PlateJoy for six months now and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. My favorite thing about PlateJoy is the fully calculated shopping list. It tells you exactly what to buy, how much to buy, and even substitutions in case you can’t find a specific ingredient in stores. This has saved so much time and we end up with the perfect amount of ingredients! No more over- or underestimating! I also love how customizable it is. You literally have so much control over every aspect of the meal plan. Before PlateJoy, we spent so much money on fast food or meal plans we couldn’t stick to. Now we eat healthy meals for a fraction of the cost. Can’t say enough good things about PlateJoy!

Takes the planning out of healthy, varied meals

Very easy to use as someone who likes cooking but hates meal planning. I can create a customized weekly menu on my way to the grocery store on the PlateJoy app, and shop from an autopopulated grocery list. I get healthy, tasty, varied meals without a lot of planning and organization. The only downside is unrealistic estimates of cooking time.

The recipes are good and easy to…

The recipes are good and easy to follow. My issues are, the selection and variety could be better, the recipes aren't seasonal (use of oven during the summer, basil in the winter, etc). Often the recipes also cover two food groups (protein and starch, or protein and greens, but not all three).

Thanks so much for your feedback, Charles! Our personal chef team would love to help - because our plans are so customizable, you can actually adjust your personalization settings to meet many of these needs (including de-selecting the oven setting during the summer, or removing the Low Carb setting to get a starch for all meals if you'd like). You can adjust these anytime on your personalization page, or feel free to reach out at service@platejoy.com and we're happy to help!

Great timesaver

Great timesaver. Love that it comes up with menu ideas that match my diet, then makes my shopping list for me on my phone, by grocery department.

This is my go-to app for weekly meal planning that offers an amazing variety that meets my needs acrosss the board - food preferences, time mgmt, easy to follow recipes, shopping list, etc. I frequently adjust my personalization based on what I’m feeling that week and have really enjoyed all the healthy meals that fit my lifestyle. I have never been more pleased with an app to help me stay on track - I look forward to the easy, creative meals each week! Thank you, Platejoy!

Can't see a big enough variety of meal…

Can't see a big enough variety of meal choices. I want to see more than 3 dinners. Not enough variety. Some recipes are inaccurate--have misleading information. If a recipe needs stirfry sauce--tell me that and I can buy a bottle--don't make me buy bottles of stuff that I need 1 teaspoon of. Same with bbq sauce. If I need 1/8 of a lemon--tell me to buy lemon juice -- not waste an entire lemon. etc.

Great recipes for the grown ups

Great recipes, a little more complex than my kids’ unadventurous tastes. It takes some $$$ to build up the ingredients in the pantry, but once you’re stocked the recipes are great for the adults in my family. The kids enjoy the snack recipes, too.

I love PlateJoy

I love PlateJoy! I never thought I’d be able to eat healthy foods due to the cost. With PlateJoy, and the way the ingredients are reused, my mind has been completely changed. My whole family has been eating healthier without getting stuck in a pizza rut. The other thing I like is the planning. I am able to select what we want over the weekend and send the list to Instacart for delivery. Makes our meal planning very easy!

I have poured over too many cookbooks

I have poured over too many cookbooks, tried delivery services, etc, and none of them come close to the deliciousness this offers. I absolutely love that I can choose seasonal items and list food I don't want in my meals. It's perfect. Real food, real easy.
Now just waiting for an Ayurvedic option....... :-)

This is the meal planning service I…

This is the meal planning service I always wanted but couldn't find. A++ all the way around. The only issues I ever had were with the instacart integration, and they were 100% on the instacard side. If you want meal planning alone, PlateJoy is the way to go. If you want fully automated, set-it-and-forget-it meal planning, grocery buying and delivery ... PlateJoy is still pretty much the way to go, but keep an eye on the Instacart piece or some weird things will occasionally happen, and double check your order when it arrives so you don't get 70% of the way through cooking something before you realize you're missing fresh tarragon or whatever.

PlateJoy is our lifesaver!

Without it we were frequently making almond butter sandwiches and gluten free pizza for dinner. It is really quite amazing that this application allows me to be so super specific and provides a wonderful menu each week for me and my family!

I love using Platejoy

I love using Platejoy and have talked it up to many others. I like that it takes the guesswork out of meal planning and reduces waste by using the same ingredients in various recipes and by allowing you to find recipes that use up ingredients you already have on hand. I have switched my preferences a few times, such as when I did Whole 30, which was incredibly helpful as it was a new way of eating for me and gave me some ideas. I've had a few issues, especially because I am often cooking just a single portion and sometimes the measurements are off or strange. However, customer service has been great at giving recommendations and answering questions, and Platejoy is always asking for feedback in order to improve.

Time saver!

This saves me so much time each week by planning out healthy, yummy meals. Before PlateJoy I struggled to eat healthy and have varied items in my diet, without spending a fortune and throwing away tons of food. I really like that the meals have ingredients in common.

This is a fantastic App for meal planning and organization. I love how many questions it asks to ensure that the recipe choices will meet your individual family’s needs. Lots of flexibility to make meals for every day or just a few to fill in between other plans. Allows me to use up what I have on hand or take advantage of grocery store sales by using the option of choosing recipes using certain ingredients.
