Excellent service my plates couldn’t be delivered by Hermes due to an error and would have taken a month to arrive plates direct printed off a new set and sent next day Delivery great customer service to resolve the issue and great response, fantastic service would recommend to anyone

Not sure why all the bad reviews?? Ordered on Monday and made a misatke and ordered show plates instead of "Legal Layout plates" Emailed straight away and recieveed a reply within minutes saying that they could change the design for me, Delivery a little slow (Arrived Thursday) but that is to be expected during a pandemic and Christmas deliveries etc, Plates arrived safe and sound and no complaints at all, Will use again.

Only found all the negative reviews after ordering so was worried, an experience not helped by their delivery partner.
Not sure what service they are specifying but Hermes sent me a notification to say the delivery had been booked, then disappeared for a day, then said they had the parcel but were doing nothing with it. The plates were delivered 5 days after ordering and about an hour after they were delivered I received a notification to say that it was with my courier and would be delivered shortly.
Delivery aside I selected show plates, yes you can change the spacings but if you don't they are the same as legal plates. The only thing I did was put my wife's name in the border instead of the plate manufacturer. Maybe not legal but can't see it ever getting pulled, although it would not pass an MOT.
Plates seem decent quality and, unlike others seem to have experienced they did have film on and weren't damaged.
I do have legal plates for the MOT.

Pros:
- Easy to use website
- Fast delivery
- Fast customer support (reply to emails within minutes durnig working hours)

Cons:
- Extremely unclear that by default their plates are "show plates" and not legally compliant. Wasted £30+ (including £5.99 delivery!) on plates that I can't use. Had to spend another £25 + £5.99 deliver to get plates that *are* legally compliant!

After 2 lots of number plates that both arrived damaged I gave up with this company. My emails were responded to but did not reply to my questions or suggestions of a solution. Literally rude single line responses from some snotty girl called Sophie.

Don’t bother using this company.

UPDATE: their replies to Trustpilot reviews are about as helpful as they’re customer service. Lost another star for that.

I never even received a response from the company to my email following the 2nd set of poor quality/damaged (delaminating) plates. Let alone an apology! Being polite and courteous to your customers goes a long way and costs you nothing.

You have to speak as you find and I didn’t discover all the negative reviews till after I’d placed my order, and put head in hands thinking “oh no!“

It is odd that you don’t know till you go to pay they only accept PayPal and I would not set up an account just for that, but I use PayPal a lot so it wasn’t an issue.

Plates arrived quickly via courier. They are probably not best quality and it would have been nice for them to have some protective film over them. As they arrived in a Jiffy bag with nothing in between each plate so were rubbing together all through their journey to me. That is why I’ve knocked a star off.

They were as described and what I ordered legal plates with a blue border and I took old plates off duct taped them to the new ones, so they couldn’t move, then drilled through the existing holes into new plates, so that I knew they would be 100 per cent the right fit and they are.

I used my existing fittings, so didn’t order fixing kit.

Can’t comment on longevity, as I only fitted them yesterday afternoon but they are what they said on the tin, number plates with quick delivery.

Be aware a lot of these companies you have to be really specific with requirements, so remember to add a space between your four and three letters/numbers. Also remember legally they have to display the name of supplier, so if you choose your own slogan, which you can do, that is not a legal plate.

Paid for 1st Class (£5.99) 6 working days later still not received. Asked to cancel and refund told 'cannot refund if it's in transit'. Wouldn't use again.

Ordered Saturday, arrived Wednesday via Hermes. If it had been quicker and come with more sticky pads it would be 5 stars. I had read the negative reviews here but only after ordering (what a wally) but all good. Plates arrived well packaged, protective film in place, sticky pads, yellow and white screw covers and screws. I inspected the plates carefully and no problems.
I received 6x sticky pads for 3 plates - I would have preferred 9x, as I used 3 per plate for 1 each end and one in the middle. They are about 10cm long each so with 3 good contact patches the plate feels secure enough.
No instructions but the website FAQs seemed to cover everything. I'll review again if they fall off!

Very happy does exactly what they are meant to do. Don't understand the negative reviews. I'll use again

Cheap shoddy rubbish and zero customer service. They'll sell you a plate and a fitting kit, give instructions on how to use the fitting kit and then ignore you when their cheap substandard plate fails. Not recommended

When ordering watch for delivery charges £5.99 is a joke, didn't spot it till to late on PayPal
Why do these companies try and rip you off ????

I ordered a set of number plates 02/09/20 and within the timescale for same day dispatch. Speaking with the courier company used for dispatch, Hermes, said the plates were dispatched the day after (03/09/20).
The plates arrived with me and instantly I noticed that dirt was sandwiched between the layers of the plate and there was general pitting on the plates.
I reported this to Plates Direct and they said they would remake.
I asked for an address to return the plates back to them. They have not provided me with this.
Today, the replacement plates have turned up and they are badly marked with scratches.
I have asked for a refund via email.
Can’t say I can recommend this company from a quality perspective and hope they prove to provide a fair outcome for me.

Delivery is a joke... have been waiting for more than a week, still not even with the courier. I have had parcels from Italy arrive in two days.....

The company need to get another courier, wish I had ordered from somewhere else. New car and can't register the new number plate until I receive these...

Shocking and they charge for first class, just a rip off.

The plates themselves seem ok, price ok, but the delivery times are shocking.They claim to send first class (assuming royal mail), no, they use Hermes the most useless parcel carrier known to man.Almost 2 weeks to arrive.......Please read all the reviews!!!!!!!!!!

Plates ordered on the 25th July and now 11th August and nothing has turned up, haven’t replied to three of my emails and there’s no way of contacting them. Rip off don’t waste your money.
