Great, fun way to get back into netball. It is well organised. Just wish we had more players and longer games 😄 also, a training session aswel as games would be beneficial.

Was trying to get back into netball and…

Was trying to get back into netball and was assigned a team to play with in Brighton. Such a horrible atmosphere! I expressed that I hadn’t played for years yet was thrown into a match as they didn’t have enough players. Half the team didn’t even introduce themselves to me. As I obviously wasn’t great as I hadn’t played for so long, I then felt alienated by the time, with one member glaring at me every time I lost the ball. It’s meant to be a bit of fun, yet this had real mean girl energy. I will not be returning and my interest in playing a sport I once loved has dwindled.

Hi Ella,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We’re really sorry to hear this was your first impression, as it’s absolutely not the kind of atmosphere we aim to create in our leagues. We pride ourselves on being welcoming and inclusive, especially for players returning to netball.

We’ve tried to locate your registration but haven’t been able to. Would you mind letting us know which team you were assigned to? This will help us look into things properly and understand what happened.

We’d also love the opportunity to put things right and help you find a team that’s a better fit. Please feel free to email us at info@play-netball.co.uk so we can help.

Tunbridge Wells Play Netball

I absolutely love this league and my team. It’s the one night each week where I can switch off, step onto the court, and just enjoy playing. The umpires are fantastic. Fun, always encouraging, supportive, and very knowledgeable. Thank you for creating such a great experience, ladies!

Hi Claire, thank you for the 5★ review. We're really pleased to hear you've enjoyed your first season with us in the Leicester league.

We appreciate your feedback and will certainly take it on board. As the league is still relatively new, it can take a little time for teams and players to settle in, but we’re hopeful that next season will see even stronger competition across the league.

Across all of our leagues, matches are scheduled in 40-minute time slots. This helps ensure the evening runs smoothly and that all games stay on schedule within our venue booking times.

In terms of training sessions, Play Netball does run these as additional sessions for certain leagues, and all available sessions can be found on our website. It’s definitely something we can discuss with your Leicester league coordinator in the near future.

The Play Netball Eastbourne league is a shambles!

The play Netball Eastbourne league is disorganised and badly managed. There are no qualified umpires and games are regularly cancelled at short notice due to umpire availability and lack of organisation. Play Netball appear to be a profit centred organisation who prioritise making money above all else. The management are not local and haven’t even bothered to turn up to investigate complaints. Many players registered to join the league at its inception yet they still can’t provide the full amount of teams. Locals have lost faith in this set up which pales into comparison with other leagues such as Bloom and ENL

I love netball

I have played in the Wycombe league for a few years. It’s great to be able to play netball and be in a team again. Realised how much I missed being part of a team, win or lose. Just getting some exercise and meeting up with your teammates is brilliant.

Really fun and friendly!

Really fun, friendly and encouraging atmosphere! Very supportive of my (lack of) playing ability due to joint disease! Just what I needed! Couldn’t feel more welcome.

Really glad that I signed up to join play netball; I’ve got the best team mates where we don’t take ourselves to seriously, have fun and have gotten better too! We socialise outside of netball too. Play netball are good at communicating and it’s been really easy.

Lovely social league

Come back to netball after a 20 year break and have really enjoyed playing in the league. Everyone has been really friendly and the umpires have always been happy ro explain decisions when I have forgotten the rules!

Play Netball Nottingham

Play Netball Nottingham have friendly teams, regular games and are well priced for what you get.

My team and I hadn't played netball for years when we started 2 years ago and everyone was really accommodating and helped us remember the rules and explained the rules where we weren't sure.

There are 2 divisions so you can play for a higher standard, more competitive league or you can play down in a league that is more sociable and better for all abilities.

Some of the umpires could do with a bit of extra training but on the whole this is a great league and I would really recommend it!

I attended Wednesdays league

I attended Wednesdays league. What a horrible set up. I was bullied most weeks by members, also infornt of the umpires they do nothing. They like certain teams. What I was really was shocked at, A head teacher and a head of PE were one of the worst bullies ever. I would not recommend this play netball it just the pits. Lots of league player's so the ability is so unfair in games. I have seen fights arguments the lot.

Appalling coordination of the league

Appalling coordination of the league. Numerous cancellations over and over again for every reason under the sun, no 'umpires' available and poor communication in the league whatsapp groups.

Also very money hungry, constantly demanding fees are paid before the league has started, and lots of emails threatening teams that they will be liable to fees, 5mins after they have sent an email cancelling all of the evening's games with hardly any notice.

Awful!!!
