I have been a Plunge customer since Generation One and, until this experience, fully expected to remain a customer. My future plans included eventually purchasing another cold plunge and potentially a sauna from Plunge. After seeing what happens when you actually need to use the extended warranty sold with their product, I would not feel comfortable making another major purchase from this company.
My Plunge failed and I have an active extended warranty that I purchased through Plunge. What followed has been an unbelievable runaround between Plunge, XCover, and Clyde.
I followed the warranty process, opened the claim, obtained the repair quote from Plunge, and provided the requested information. Instead of getting a decision, I have spent weeks being bounced between companies.
XCover ultimately told me that the claim needs to be handled through Clyde. Clyde has been essentially unresponsive despite repeated attempts to contact them and provide the repair quote. Their portal does not provide me with a functional way to upload what is needed. Meanwhile, Plunge’s position is that it cannot authorize the warranty repair without a determination from the third-party administrator.
So where exactly does that leave the customer?
Plunge points to the warranty administrator. XCover points to Clyde. Clyde doesn’t respond. Then Plunge explains that it cannot do anything without the administrator’s determination.
That is not a functioning warranty process.
I understand perfectly well that Plunge uses a third party to administer its extended warranties. What I find unacceptable is acting as though that business arrangement absolves Plunge of responsibility when the process completely breaks down. I did not independently seek out Clyde or XCover and decide to do business with them. I bought a Plunge product and purchased the extended warranty through Plunge.
As the customer, I should not have to untangle Plunge’s relationships with its warranty partners just to get someone to review a legitimate claim.
What makes this particularly disappointing is that I was an early Generation One customer. I supported this company early, have dealt with product issues over the years, and remained willing to continue buying from Plunge. Their products can and do require repairs—I know that firsthand—which makes dependable warranty support extremely important.
Instead, when I actually needed the extended warranty I paid for, I found myself trapped between three companies with nobody willing or able to take ownership of getting the claim to a resolution.
Plunge has apologized and explained that it cannot control the third-party administrator. That explanation does absolutely nothing for the customer sitting with an unusable product and a paid warranty that he cannot effectively access.
This experience has destroyed my confidence in Plunge. I can tolerate a product having a problem. Products break. What determines whether I remain loyal to a company is what that company does when its product breaks.
Until this happened, I expected my next cold plunge to be another Plunge and was seriously considering purchasing a sauna from them as well. I cannot justify spending thousands of dollars more with a company when my experience has shown me that, if something goes wrong, I may be left chasing third-party warranty companies while Plunge explains why the problem is outside its control.
For anyone considering purchasing from Plunge—particularly purchasing an extended warranty—I would strongly recommend understanding exactly who will stand behind that warranty and what happens if the administrator stops responding.
Because right now, despite purchasing the warranty through Plunge and doing everything asked of me, I still have a broken Plunge and no functioning path to get my warranty claim resolved.
I bought The Sauna Mini in October 2024. With the accessory kit, the $1,900 white-glove delivery and assembly service, the protection plan and tax, I paid $12,086.27. It was installed on November 19, 2024.
In the 22 months since, I have opened 17 support tickets, received 16 separate parts shipments totaling 22 replacement parts across 12 different part types, and had 5 technician visits. The sauna still does not work correctly today.
A partial list:
The installers Plunge sent for the $1,900 white-glove assembly did not install the door feet. Plunge confirmed this in writing: "it looks like the two door feet were not installed." Nobody was sent to fix it — they mailed me parts and I installed them myself. The misaligned door then cracked the cedar frame. Plunge's response: "This is the first time I've seen the frame break."
Plunge shipped me the wrong heat shield — an XL part for a Mini — and charged me $126.99 for it. I had to open an RMA to return the part they picked wrong.
The control knobs and dimmer faceplate took 9 parts shipments and 3 technician visits. On May 14, 2026 a Plunge technician glued the knobs on. They fell off the same day. On June 24 a technician took the parts away and never came back. Plunge's final written answer on August 13, 2026 was that I could have them glued on or leave them loose — "those are our two options" — and on August 18 that "the new minis are designed the exact same way."
The fan and fan control have not worked since February 2026. Still open. Still broken.
On July 24, 2026 the technician Plunge sent to replace the faceplate created a new door sensor fault, broke a glass light fixture, and left the broken glass in my sauna.
And the core issue: Plunge advertises the Sauna Mini as "Heats up to 210°F." Mine has never exceeded 191°F, and only after running for three full hours. Plunge has never sent a single part or a single technician to investigate the heating system. Not once in 22 months.
On September 19, 2026, Plunge Senior Management wrote: "Plunge will not issue a refund or replacement in response to your current request." They declared an impasse, assigned me a single point of contact, and instructed me not to CC any executives.
I am not a difficult customer. I paid full price, I waited, I installed their parts myself, I took five days off for technician visits. What I have is a $12,000 appliance that has never once performed to its own published specification, and a company that has decided it is finished trying.
Plunge customer service has been one of the worst customer service experiences. It was impossible to reach a customer service representative to receive an accurate shipping timeline, and when I scheduled help sessions through the website, the representative did not show up on two separate occasions. Then I was notified the day before that the delivery would be the following day during a time window, then called the following morning at 6:30am that they would be arriving within an hour. Then when the delivery team arrived, they tried telling me the cold plunge wouldn't fit through the door and they'd have to leave it, without trying other measurements. I solved the problem for them after they told me delivery would require a 4-person team and they only had 2 guys, but the delivery team was very unprofessional and unhelpful. They left all the sauna pieces, complained about how heavy everything was, and Plunge was impossible to get ahold of to see when installation was scheduled. Despite paying for white glove delivery, installation was not included and booking 2 weeks out. Very poor communication between Plunge, their delivery vendor, and installation vendor. When customer service did reach out via email, they were completely unhelpful. I hope when the products are up and running, they are worth the terrible customer service experience.
I really liked how the website explained the differences in the sauna's. It helped me determine which was the best fit for me.
Excellent experience from start to finish. Sauna is amazing, I use it almost everyday and its got to be the best purchase I’ve ever made!
Small warehouse building with no windows with only fake plants. Small sauna and 4 cold plunge tanks. Considering the price I think it would be beneficial to replace all the plastic plants with real plants, to bring some outside to the inside, especially since there are no windows inside. I also got quite sick after. I think it was from accidentally inhaling/swallowing the cold water in the cold plunge. it must have been infected with something from someone before. And didn't seem like they change the water between guests as it was quite dirty with stuff floating in the water even before I went in the first time.

The Plunge customer service is very prompt and they try to be helpful, but the Plunge needs service maintenance (not just cleaning and refilling) at least once per year.
In my town of about 200,000 people, I couldn't find any professional service companies. This left me and my family to troubleshoot it ourselves which takes a significant amount of time and effort.
Plunge support also sends you the kits/repair parts as if these are easy fixes, I did not find that to be the case.
Most of the maintenance requires someone who is beyond just handy, and has a significant amount of time to put toward this if there is no one local to provide service. Handyman services won't do it.
I have purchased a lot of expensive wellness equipment, like a Peloton and a sauna and neither one of those things has ever needed professional service. (Peloton going on ten years)

I have never left a 1 star review in my life, but this company has earned it. I have spent more than $20,000 with this company buying their top of the line Cold Plunge and Sauna. Within the first 6 months of owning the Plunge, the thermostat broke requiring a part replacement and service that was covered under warranty, several months the same part broke again, which I had to pay a service technician $200 for a 10 minute repair. Fast forward several more months and the thermostat broke again and I replaced. Then the power strip broke, I had to pay $135 as a 'diagnostic fee' to even have a conversation with their support team, I installed the power strip and it was still not functional and then I was given an invoice for $1,300 to buy a new chiller. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed by this company and their product. The cold plunge has not been functional for more than a few months without needing a replacement. I have had to replace most components at this point and I am writing this after my fourth attempt to work through this with customer service. They have taken a stance that I can only buy more replacement parts and they are unwilling to help in any other way.
I do not recommend buying products from this company and this is the single worst customer and product experience I have ever had.

Thanks for your reply. Apologies for missing some of the replacements and repairs that you mentioned. These are in fact part of my overall frustrations. The same part was replaced multiple times with the same outcome of failure. Having been through this repeatedly is why I refuse to just repeat, replace, and expect a different result. Additionally, I have to apologize if there is a misunderstanding on "Leadership nevertheless approved covering the pump itself". I regret getting so frustrated and angry with your customer service rep, but my final straw was when I was told I had to pay for the replacement pump. In fact, I said in that conversation prior to flipping my lid "So you are telling me the only way to proceed is for me to pay more and do the same thing again?". When I asked to speak to a manager and elevate the issue, I was told this had already been through leadership, I was not allowed to speak to anyone else, and there was nothing else to be done.
Again, I am embarrassed with how frustrated and angry I was with your representative knowing that she had nothing to do with the decision, for that I am sorry. It does not change the fact the I was told differently, nor does a pump replacement change the fact that continuing to replace failing parts and expecting to have a lasting functioning product is not the definition of insanity.
I'm not looking for internet beef or to win a review/reply battle. I want to be treated fairly after having paid for a premium product, followed the direction for repeated replacements/repairs, and being left with an $8,000 lawn ornament.
Mistakes and misunderstandings happen, I own that I could have misunderstood your representative, but that does not change the situation. I will happily work towards a fair resolution and am open to changing my opinion of your company, but if your only offer is to repeat this insanity, I will take the loss and move forward with my life.
Thank you for your attention to this either way.

Our new mini sauna looks beautiful and the customer service is excellent. The customer service has been prompt and very helpful, working with us to navigate a tricky delivery in NYC. We can't wait to try our hot sauna and cold plunge and know it will be great!

So I have now had my Plunge Pod and Evolve Pro Chiller for a week now. It is all set up, which was very easy, and I have put it to use a few times now. I love everything about this! I have a sauna, sorry plunge - yours came out after I had already purchased mine, and I do Contrast Therapy now 4 times a week with my wife. We are hooked! Thats if we can get in it as my daughter has now taken a liking to it.
I highly recommend the Pro Chiller. It is super quiet when it is just maintaining temp or in Eco Mode and when it is chilling it is not much louder than an air conditioner unit. It gets to temp very quickly and keeps the water circulating and fresh. I love that you can schedule it from the app to be ready right when you need it.
I was on the fence about the Pod over the tub. I was concerned that it would be too tall to get into and that there wouldn't be enough room in it. I was wrong! It is very spacious, comfortable to sit in and very easy to get in and out of.
Again, if you are on the fence about it, get it! It is a great addition to my garage retreat!
I wish there was a place to post my picture of my set up!

I own a Plunge Sauna Mini. Although the product itself has had some issues, the customer service team has been quick to fix them. I would and have recommended it to many friends.

I just want to say my buying experience with Plunge and my installation experience with my new mini-Sauna went GREAT! Plunge was proactively in touch with me about shipping, the installation, etc. Plunge Install, the people who were going to actually build and install it (different people delivered it) were also super responsive and really took care of me. It was an outdoor installation and we've had so much it had to be rescheduled a couple of times and they were SO polite and responsive, it was great. Then, even today, when they installed it, rain was predicted (again). But Plunge Intall (Gio) found a 2 hour window during which it didn't rain and they made it happen. They even helped one of my employees set up the Plunge app, and showed us how to use the app and explained the manually operating elements of the sauna. It was GREAT! Thank you Plunge and Plunge Install!

I bought the Regular Sauna, sales process was very good and streamlined. Jonathan in sales help me set up the order and arranged the 24 month 0% financing for me, also arranged delivery and was very helpful in giving me the necessary info to use the sauna. Delivery was on time and the crate was packed well on inspection. I did have some issues uncrating the sauna, mainly stripped screws, and also some parts were stamped incorrectly which made the build somewhat tricky. I reached out to Jonathan who put me in contact with Caitlin in customer service right away, she promptly took care of the issue and made everything right. I’m very pleased with the sauna so far and especially with Caitlin in customer service for her excellent handling of the issue.

I've been using a Plunge for several months now, and cold plunging has become one of my favorite wellness habits. It has helped me with recovery, energy, mental clarity, and overall consistency in my health routine.
I also purchased a Plunge sauna, and together they've become a regular part of my week.
Recently, I experienced an issue with my Plunge chiller. While the process took some discussion and review, the Plunge team ultimately stepped up, listened to my concerns, and worked with me to find a resolution. That's what stood out to me the most. Any company can look great when everything is working perfectly, but you really learn about a company when something goes wrong.
I appreciate that the team took the time to review my situation and make things right. Their willingness to stand behind their customers gave me confidence in the brand.
Overall, I've had a positive experience with Plunge, and I'm looking forward to getting back to my daily cold plunges.

Caitlin at Plunge was very responsive and even followed up with me after a day, which is very rare in the customer service world. On top of that, she helped me with an odd request that made a big difference in us being able to use our Sauna and Plunge. Great customer service overall so far!

Easy to file a question via the app, quick response, and I also received a follow up two days later to make sure everything was fine. Love our plunge sauna and pod!

I had an excellent experience with Plunge customer support, specifically with Caitlin Brubaker.
During my sauna assembly, I ran into an issue where a bolt was missing and the instructions had an error that caused some confusion at final assembly. Caitlin jumped in right away, quickly understood the situation, and didn’t just give a generic response—she actually followed through.
She stayed on it, confirmed the discrepancy in the instructions, and made sure the missing hardware was addressed without any hassle. What really stood out was her follow-up. She didn’t just close the ticket and move on, she checked back in to make sure everything was resolved and that I was good to go.
That level of ownership and attention to detail is rare, and it made a frustrating moment during assembly a lot smoother.
Big thanks to Caitlin and the Plunge team for backing their product with solid support.
