Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the payment processes, citing issues like unexpected charges and billing discrepancies. The customer service was frequently described as poor, with people struggling to reach representatives, experiencing long wait times, and encountering staff who seemed undertrained or unhelpful. This extended to general service interactions, where customers felt their concerns were not adequately addressed. Some people, however, reported positive experiences with specific branch staff, highlighting their helpfulness and efficiency. A few customers also appreciated features like on-site debit card printing and proactive fraud alerts.

It does NOT do anything well

It does NOT do anything well. It is deteriorating. Why doesn't it save my User ID? Why do I have to guess my own user ID every single time I login now? Why don't biometrics work and I have to redo the biometrics sign up? Why do I have to call you for help logging in instead of you just helping me through text or sending me info through text? The only reason why I have this app is because I need it for banking. But I'm about to delete it just because of these things that they won't fix.

PNC Bank has to be the worst bank there…

PNC Bank has to be the worst bank there is. I didn’t pick them, they bought out my other bank and that’s where the problems began. They steal your money, charge you overdrafts when you shouldn’t have any and have multiple accounts in your name. I still have ALL my documents proving theft and fraud and trust me I’m ready for my money back. They ruined my credit as well. I’m beyond frustrated.

Trash bank

Bad customer service when you call with an issue, high interest rates on loans, lots of junk fees and over aggressive with calling you if you happen to be late a couple of days by mistake. We made the mistake of getting our car loan with them as referred by dealership. Never again.

Best of The Bunch

I have accounts at most of the major banks. PNC is by far the best overall. No problems at all. I have checking, credit card and a small CD. The service from my local branch has been exceptional as well, including dealing with a time-consuming transaction. For seniors, checking is free, no minimum balance. Unlike other Big Banks that are closing branches, PNC still has numerous, easily accessible local branches - where you can actually find a human to talk to.

I called today to find out the payoff…

I called today to find out the payoff amount of an auto loan and questioned the amount. My statement shows one amount, but she quoted a higher amount by $427.60. When I asked her why, she got frustrated with me, raised her voice as thought I couldn't hear her and got excessively LOUD. I asked her to please not yell, but she said she wasn't yelling loud. I hope she's recorded. This is not acceptable!!! I wish I could talk to her manager. She should deal with customers if she can't be patient.

False advertising promotional accounts

I signed up for a bank account with the $400 promotion. After meeting there financial criteria and not receiving the $400 after 5 months I visited the bank to inquire why. I was told they sent a request for it to be paid within 2 weeks. 1 more month goes by and still nothing. It's a lie, don't fall for it. I also signed up for a credit card that was advertised no interest for the first 15 months. On my first statement the charger interest. I called to inquire why. I was told the banker didn't provide the promotion just like the bank account. Pnc is a horrible bank that lies to its customers and falsely advertises promotional accounts.

Outstanding service

My name is Marisol Escobales and I am writing this review to thank Reva Santiago and Marleny from the PNC bank located at 703 W Emaus Avenue in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I am not a client at your bank but stopped in to cash a check and these two young ladies were very courteous, respectful, and very, very pleasant. I had a very good experience at your bank. Thank you so much to Reva and Marleny for their outstanding service to not only your clients, but anyone who steps into that bank. Out of 5 stars I give them 10. Thank you ladies!! ♥️🤗

Unreasonable long hold times.

I contacted the PNC Mortgage Customer Service department to inquire about my mortgage. The automated system transferred me to a live representative line, with an estimated wait time of approximately five minutes. However, I remained on hold for almost 3 hours during which I listened to persistently annoying background music, before my call was ultimately disconnected. It appears that the customer service line excessively depends on artificial intelligence for handling routine inquiries. When direct assistance from a live representative is required, it is evident that staffing levels are insufficient to address customer needs promptly.

Terrible bank

Terrible bank. I’ve been a customer for almost 30 years and they would rather lose a customer than provide a credit for 5 dollars when they didn’t set me up in the correct account based on my needs in the first place. Hard to believe they would rather lose a long time customer than give a 5 dollar account credit but this is how the operate, find another bank that actually cares about their customers

The staff in Naples FL should be called :Mean Girls

I echo everyone elses' experience with this bank.. They are awful! And I say this as not only a customer but a former banker/teller that worked in the branch in Naples Florida for over 4 years. Let me tell you all. The branch Manager Jesse talked bad about every single customer with the tellers. The things she and the employees said about their customers.. The people that are keeping them in business is absolutely disgraceful. They also discriminate against Pregnant women.

The fees are horrendous at this bank and they little empathy if you need help. I wish i could say it was an isolated issue but it is not. Pnc used to be a good bank. But unfortunately a bank is only as good as the people they employ.. I will say on the plus side they do try to be a relationship bank. I just disliked being forced to push products on the customers that they often did not need.

I even gave them evidence proving it and they didn't care at all whoever made this decision should be fired.

Intolerant, spineless management

A ten year customer with throughput of many millions. I always went in my rural branch and joked about politics for years. A new (minority) teller was hired, and overheard a snippet about “Ice shooting black people”. She complained and PNC closed my account on 30 days notice. I was also issued an order not to enter any PNC branch or face arrest! No appeal, my “offense” taking two weeks to be made known to me. No warning, no discussion, no explanation, no appeal. Now, I lean left but if ever there was an example of spineless, “woke” behavior consistent with the Nazi held trials of 1944, this is it.

PNC only cares about money

PNC only cares about money. They messed up not 1 but 2 accounts I had, then even after being a customer for DECADES I tried to deposit a check and they turned me over to the fraud division. Read that again - I was depositing a check. No customer service at all!!!!

I would never even entertain the thought of leaving PNC Bank

I have banked with PNC Bank my entire adult life (I am 65). My main reason for staying with PNC is trust. I trust PNC Bank for quality care when it comes to my banking. The other reason is that PNC Bank is a leader in customer service from in person to online banking. I would never even entertain the thought of leaving PNC Bank. They truly value my business.

I've been a PNC user for the past 9 years and I absolutely love the care and attention they provide. They are so helpful. I got the account when I was in college, and everything about banks, loans, interest, credit reports, etc. is explained to me. They have my back when it comes to making smart financial decisions.

This place is honestly horrible

This place is honestly horrible. I unfortunately didn't read the reviews before I opened an account there. I had a check that I deposited through the app. Meanwhile I read the reviews and decided to go back to Wells Fargo, which I first opened an account with in 2008. I had many happy years with WF, except I hated their role in the 2008 crash and I closed my account with them several years ago in order to go to a local CU. But I digress. According to the PNC app, it takes 1-2 days for an exterior transfer to take place, but I scheduled my transfer FOUR DAYS AGO AND IT STILL HASN'T HAPPENED!!!
