I agree with Neil S, the website is rubbish. I have booked an outward crossing on the 4th and the return on the 9th, this apparently is a 6 days break ???
I also had trouble with the password, some years ago I created an account but there is no way to access it now, I had to continue as a Guest.
PO’s web site is worse than useless
PO’s web site is worse than useless. It is impossible to book. If you’ve ever travel with them before your password will not work because they’ve so called “increased security”, but it is near impossible to update a password because it has a password protocol that doesn’t comply with ones generated by either Apple passwords or Google passwords. (You have to have a special character but the big players don’t) Can you believe how useless the P&O IT department is, if they’ve made decisions like that. Plus when you try to book with an iPhone smartphone it repeated changes you back from single ticket to Return. I spent two hours trying to book. Eventually had to use a ferry savers website to overcome P&O total and utter incompetence….. booked with DFDS because PO are so awful.
Finally they can’t decide if they’re PO or P&O, confusing for customers, computers, password apps etc. Reccomendation to CEO. Send an email sacking the IT dept and employ a load of overseas casuals. It can’t be worse OH and you’ve done it before.🥱🥱🤣
Poor service for gluten and lactose intolerance…
I have gluten and lactose intolerance and react badly if accidentally poisoned. Dining in the Kitchen restaurant is a terrifying experience with little attention to cross contamination and I had to ask for something suitable as a desert. Dining in the Brasserie is worse because there is so little choice. The staff have a clipboard with a sheet of paper with poor information on allergens. The components of each dish are not broken down so you can’t avoid elements of a dish, some dishes only have question marks as potential allergens. I was limited to a choice of three main courses ( non of which I would choose if I didn’t need to) and no suitable starter or desert.
P&O have refused to refund my deposit for the Brasserie on my return journey ( I requested on the grounds that they are not able to cater for my needs and they don’t provide that information in advance). I was made to feel like a freak in the Brasserie initially but the staff were embarrassed that my choices were so limited.
I will take my own food onboard in future. Customer service don’t seem to care. Why are they so happy to cater for dietary choices ( eg vegan) but not medical need?

I went on a school trip in the arcade section of the ship I spent £15 pound on a key machine I ended up wining an alexa and then they would not give it to me I explained what happened and the woman at reception gave me a bad attitude
The ship it's self is dirty and not very good would not recommend.
Quiet lounges
Quiet lounges? The signage just looks like decor and only in English. There should be more signage, especially in French. What's the point of a quiet lounge with people making noise and yakking g the whole trip?
Shameful Company
Like a lot of others on here P&O Ferries cocked up my booking so was unable to amend it on line when I needed to change the sailing date. Had to subsequently spend hours on the phone waiting to be answered to eventually get it changed.
Wrote to their "Customer Care"??? Team to ask for a small gesture of goodwill i.e. a voucher for a couple of beers.
Flatly refused but they still had the audacity to charge me £30 to amend the booking.
Shameless patronising company, or as recently described by some high ranking politician as "a bunch of crooks". Totally agree with the sentiment.
So, it's now goodbye P&O and Bonjour Eurotunnel.

Booked 4 days to Scotland from larne going over was just ok but coming back with po ferries was a disgrace we arrived at the terminal at 11.30 as we were told the gates closed at 11.30 we were on time but the gates were closed the staff sitting in the kiosk with the blinds down when they should have been opened. Obviously they closed the gate early. The staff on reception were ok but could have had a better mannerism about them as I found one a little rude to say the least. Had to wait 4hrs for the next sailing. It was not good enough.

Staff need to go to charm school to be polite, curtesy, smile, learn English. Throughout the entire boat there was a dreadful smell of what smelt like dirty drains!!! No hot food being served in the restaurant anymore just food in boxes. The state and taste of the food is vile and I wouldn’t serve it to my dog!!! State of the toilets were horrible, dirty, smelly and should be cleaned every hour!! Myself and my family sadly missed our boat at 7pm and so we waited 2hrs until the next one. They should run more boats every hour all year round. Myself and my family will not be using P&O next year. We would rather use the tunnel instead!!

The worst website I have ever…
The worst website I have ever encountered. Utter, utter, dross! Impossible to amend booking, despite claims to the contrary. The FAQ page makes no sense, the chatbot refers you to an adviser with an estimated wait time of 45 minutes plus. No surprise that the company makes no money, their systems are rubbish. The only reason to use them is if you can't afford the Shuttle rip-off prices. Very, very disappointing.

If I could give a minus I would . We arrived at Hull at 7:04 pm the barrier was down the last car was just on the other side of the barrier . We had been caught in roadworks and actually thought we have 60 minute prior to departure . We asked the manager who refused ourselves and three other motorhomes . All he said was the could wait the extra time loading bear in mind we were scheduled to be on this boat . With a wry smile he said I’m the manager and there’s no thing I can do it’s your fault . There were no availability for 3 days . The lady on the desk looked embarrassed and asked us if we could get to dover . The few minutes and the unhelpful arrogance of the manager gave us another 6 hour drive . Never use them again and the manager was the least proactive person I’ve every come across.

Well well well the stories are 100% true what a absolute joke of a company, we had a lovely weekend booked in Paris, thought we would get the 03:15am ferry to make the most of our trip, got to the port and had to wait 1 hour and 20 mins just to check our passport, when we got to check in they said very calmly you missed the boat so now wait 3 1/2 hours for next one, when I complained or asked to complain to he’s said and I quote ….get the email for French customs if you like, I would avoid travelling this way at all costs, I’m a Dover resident and this situation is a daily occurrence so please investigate other way to cross as this company is NOT the ones to travel with .

I am a international lorry driver by trade and have been for well over 38yrs… Can you imagine my surprise when today, for the first time in my life, i traveled privately via ferry for a family trip to germany…. Talk about a effin rip off!!!
Book boat, drive to boat to be on time, ergo 1 hour prior to sailing…. Then, while all boards in the port show no issues, phone txt saying that the boat will be approx (very open ended) 1 hour late… no reason mind…2 hours later… txt, your boat will be 1 hour later than previous estimate…. What the hell!!
Then finally get on the boat… good time to eat im “hank marvin”… now, apparently if you want to be human and eat from a plate then you now have to be a “Club” member and or Pay £16 po to entre and then another £9 for a breakfast….eh? Mere pleb air breathing money paying humans who are not… well you are consigned to some kind of “McD” type bar “Kitchen” where you can oder something to eat in a BOX… now call me what ya like but have you tried to eat a breakfast from a bleedin cardboard box with a boat rolling around…
The toilets stink. The staff can hardly sting two words of “Engwish” together.
I thought as a freight driver passenger things were ok but never EVER will i travel privately with P&O again… its a Joke P&O, sort yer selves out!!!!
Be prepared to wait!
I’m sitting in my car at Dover to board my ferry which should have left an hour ago. I’ve just received a message from them that due to ‘operational difficulties’ I will be delayed for another hour! I am a regular user ( not for much longer) of this ridiculous service.
This is a regular P and O ploy. They basically take bookings and then rearrange the schedule depending upon how much traffic they are carrying. They won’t admit to this but far better for them to run a packed boat rather than give customers the ferry time they actually booked.
So my advice to anyone travelling with these jokers is be prepared for a long wait to catch a ferry time you didn’t book and don’t make firm plans when you arrive on the other side.
Excellent crossing from Calais to Dover…
Excellent crossing from Calais to Dover today on the Pioneer. Had a very nice bacon sandwich and coffee. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and boat was very clean.
Awful experience
Awful experience. After paying for fish & chips I went back to buy a burger. The Indian attendant scanned it for me on their new system there. 2 minutes later I went back to inform them the burger was stone cold. So I was given another burger.... That was also cold . At this point I simply wanted a refund. I was told to find my transaction on online banking as I was not given a receipt originally. The transaction was found and I was charged TWICE initially! An argument broke out with the poorly speaking attendants and security got involved and I was told I had 2 burgers and was only going to get a refund for 1 !!! The Security guy was rude and threatening & ended up not getting any refund at all !!!! I was charged for 2 cold inedible burgers that were returned basically being bullied by thuggish security guy called Maurice I believe who works in the duty free. The experience was so bad we cancelled our return on P&O .
Absolutely awful customer service
Absolutely awful customer service. First of all the contact number is like a well hidden secret, when you do manage to find it and go through the automated reply it EVENTUALLY tells you this number is no longer in use and gives another number where you go over the whole routine again, listen to music for four or five minutes then to be given your place in the queue and then offered call back.
