Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 410 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers found the website to be a horrible dating site, especially since it changed owners, and felt it was a waste of time and money due to numerous fake profiles and misleading practices. People frequently encountered issues with the subscription model, describing it as having hidden charges and an inability to cancel automatic renewals. The user experience was often criticized for being buggy, with messages disappearing and a general lack of functionality that made connecting with others difficult. Some people were dissatisfied with the social media aspect, noting that many profiles were inactive or filled with generic, unappealing content, and that the platform did not effectively filter out users who were not genuinely interested in connecting. The pricing was also a common point of contention, with many feeling that the costs were excessive for the poor quality of service and that the site used misleading offers.

About Plenty of Fish Dating

Written by the company

Logo

The Plenty of Fish story begins all the way back in the distant year of 2003 when it laid down its roots as the first free online dating site. POF believes that building a community where people feel free to be themselves, helps create the most meaningful connections. Every day, Plenty of Fish helps people find their blanket thief, Ikea sherpa, personal spider hunter…you get the point.

POF has always been true to itself, allowing members to choose their own path to connection on the app and matching members based on the things that ultimately make for real, long-lasting love. That’s why Plenty of Fish was the first dating app to ditch face filters. People can feel free to just be themselves. No pressure, just real connections.

Just been on site and selected 8…

Just been on site and selected 8 females that I'm interested in. All 8 had disabled messaging. What's the point of them being on a dating site if you can't contact them?
This should not be allowed. They don't have to read a message.
Complete waste of time.

What a money grubbing site

What a money grubbing site. When I attempted to contact customer service for help they would not provide any help navigating their system without "a refundable" 5$. Of course they want my credit card info and then it is bill bill bill without anyway to stop them. I had to get my credit card company to intervene. Do no under any circumstances give these highwaymen your credit card info!

AWFUL CONTROLLING BEHAVIOUR

This Canadian owned Dating Company is a joke. I have only been subscribed for 24 hours and they are threatening to BAN ME because I added a photo of a harmless joke to show my sense of humour. This company is WOKE personified. Below is my email to the CEO of POF:

Mr Frind

See my email below. You want to learn to liven up as a company. If I had known about your fascist controlling “woke” culture I would have NEVER gone near Plenty of Fish.

Kindly confirm my requested refund of £59.99 today to avoid further action and reporting your company to the UK TRADING STANDARDS

Hello

You threatened to ban me today and removed a photo (attached) which shows my sense of humour. I only subscribed yesterday.

I am not happy about this and want my subscription REFUNDED today please. £59.99!

Under the Consumer Act 2015 (UK) you have to refund me!

Please confirm receipt of my email and proof of refunding the money into my bank account today.

Failure to do this will mean I contact my bank and instruct them to investigate you and force a CHARGEBACK!

Ghosting is the most common thing

Women show up, like you and start a conversation and "poof" ghost you.
Happens so frequently its just expected, weirdos and scammers are common.
Nothing here worth trying.
Its a joke, not a dating site

Took out " 1 week subscription " at £29.99 believing thats what it was ! But NO ! Nowhere at all where any terms or conditions or explaination showing anywhere when i took this out that £29.99 would be taken every week ! Just noticed 3 payments of £29.99 have been taken through Paypal ! So thats £100 for literally nothing ! £100 to get the same access as what was free not so long ago on same site ! They know what they are doing! Deliberately conning people in a very sneaky subtle way and hiding any information you need to know before taking out their misleading subscriptions !

Their customer support is awful

Their customer support is awful. I just received a random email that said I was banned, I have no idea what happened. They won’t tell me what happened. I think it’s very odd, and very unprofessional. Don’t waste your time with this company.

No Stars

I've obviously no clue what the men are like but the women on pof are all 3s who won't accept a man who isn't a 10.
[If that's not bad enough they're about as friendly as an attack dog when it comes to chatting]

I can't think that many decent, attractive normal balanced women will stay on pof for long. I guess that's why it's full of those who are the exact opposite of that.

Don't bother, you'll be disappointed.

This site is a joke. None of the women on there really exist - I'm positive of it. Any attempted contact is either ignored or there is a one line reply and nothing else. That's ignoring the obvious "ladies of the night".
