We joined the Lady Brigante on a True Crime Walk last Friday and what a fantastic experience. She certainly brought the crimes to life, too much in some cases, but that all added to our enjoyment. We would certainly recommend the walk for anyone wanting to know more about the lovely City of York. Only downside was the cold weather but she can’t control everything! Thank you again for a great evening.

Lady Brigante gave a marvellous crime walk through some of the snickleways & other parts of York. It’s amazing to discover parts of York I didn’t know existed. It was sad to hear some of the victims didn’t get any justice, which was surprising for Victorian times. Would recommend this factual walk.

Myself and my daughter went on the Walmgate Walk last Saturday and we enjoyed it enormously. It was emotional and educational - some of the stories were tragic (well, most of them) and we were given such a great insight into Victorian life in that part of York. Despite knowing this area quite well, I had never heard those stories before. It made me look at the streets and buildings with new eyes.

Lady B was so knowledgeable and made the whole experience interesting.

Lady Brigante recently immersed us into a night of crime and murder during the Victorian era of York. As a family of 4 we had been taken to hidden places and listened to true stories of murder and death. The stories captivated us from the start to the finish. Highly recommended

Lady Brigante is absolutely fantastic!!! I highly recommend her talks and tours. If you want the real life, nitty gritty, jaw dropping truth about people whom lived in the city of York (or anywhere else for that matter) then this is absolutely the tour for you. Expertly researched and delivered with delicate but truthful and sometimes witty precision. No theatrics, just good genuine disturbing truthful facts of life that really make you realise how lucky we are and yet in some ways, things haven't changed. Death maybe the end, but our stories live on...

If you are in York make sure you book a tour with the Polite Tourist on her wanderings through the dark side of the city. We did and it was fantastic!
The first time we went on a walk down Walmgate with her she brought the past to life with vivid accounts of the goings on behind innocent looking windows and doors.
Well worth it and it brought this ancient beautiful city into different, sinister but exciting, life and unlike some fantasy ghost walks her stories are real and true! A must!
