This company tries hard to provide clients with a great experience, particularly on expedition cruises.
They have some unique expedition locations and work hard to build relationships with the local people.

Luxurious, comfortable.

Ponant took us to Antarctica in Jan 2023. (From Dunedin to Hobart) We absolutely loved it. The ship Le Soleil has great viewing decks and lounges, the cabins are nice, the food fantastic and all the staff - both on board and the booking agents on shore - were just the best. We have cruised with other cruise lines - Seabourn and Silversea amongst them - but Ponant is now one of our favourites.

Fabulous scenery (the Kimberley)Once on board everything was easy.Crew were excellent and knowledgeable.Food and wine more than acceptable in fact most enjoyable.

A fine cruise which included a lifelong ambition of visiting Mont Saint Michel. Pleasant, relaxed, typically Ponant cruise. We enjoy the French lifestyle - aperitif in the lounge before dinner and the opportunity of mixing with sympathetic French passengers

The only criticism was the coffee. Most of our group of eight felt the same that the pods were not good and a proper Espresso machine was needed.

Beautifully maintained ship, highly professional and polite crew, competent and friendly officers, excellent food and wine, engaging lectures and shore excursions. A wonderful cruise experience for us!

Exceeded our expectations

PONANT service was impeccable from start to finish. I especially liked the addition of world renowned Smithsonian Journeys experts that made the sea days so much better

Canary Island cruise worst cruise possible. If you don't take the 8:30A junkets off the ship you won't see a thing. Ship docked in ferry terminals with no transportation to the towns. Too far to walk.

Ponant is a 5 star hotel and a 2 star Michelin restaurant on the water.
The food and wine are incredible!!
The service was fantastic.
The shore excursions were well curated with expert guides.

The ship was beautiful and clean. Crew was delightful and responsive. Food fabulous. The passengers were friendly and interesting.

Fantastically organized, great food and accommodation, friendly staff and great excursions from the ship. A smaller vessel with a maximum of about 280 passengers is certainly the way to go. Definitely worth the extra money if you’ve ever thought about a cruise but dread the thought of a massive floating listeria palace.

Great experience, liked very much the smaller more intimate cruise and the French style and cuisine. The excursions were all very good, with English speaking guides for us. Already booked the next cruise with Ponant.

Ponant is the best cruising company we have encountered up to today. They produce a real 5 star hotel environment on their small ships, giving an exclusive experience. Cabins, food, drinks, and - most important - employees are just perfect.

The cruise did not support English speaking participants or explain directions and information with regard to disembarking for excursions adequately. Two language groups were in the same bus for excursions which resulted the English group being told of things second and in some cases what we were being told about was no longer visual etc.
Some cruise participants were vapping in the outside dining areas and staff refused to address this or escalate it to the restaurant manager for fear of getting a bad review from the client that would effect their job.
There was also no information given about ponant supplied complimentary buses that were provided for the final disembarkation until the evening before disembarkation. At this stage most people had arranged other buses or taxis arranged through ponant that were extremely expensive. The buses ponant arranged for airport transfers only connected to certain flights which meant an 8 hour wait at the airport for some people.
A very disappointing end to the cruise.

Service was exemplary. Food and wine choices were excellent. Staff were warm and friendly. Suite was extremely comfortable. I will definitely travel again very happily with Ponant.
