Illegal Withdrawals for services not…

Illegal Withdrawals for services not agreed.
This company has been taking irregular payments from my aunt's bank account ever since a purchase made from company called Easylife. These payments have shown as premierclub0345174 on her statements. Payments of £58.99 have been noted. It would appear that 'Easylife', 'Rewardsclub' 'premiumclub' are all linked, and entries on bank statements can appear from any of them. The initial purchase of items were made back in December 2024 from Easylife, made on her then debit card, This card has now been changed a further twice, yet payments are still coming out from the bank account! Is this a failing of the bank now? These companies are obtaining the bank details somehow, and are sharing the data around, so the bank should be able to stop this fraudulent action, and refund any payments made from her account. Perhaps the only way to be totally free from these scammers/crocked companies is to open another bank account thus breaking the chain these companies appear to have over the account holder. Good luck everyone.

Scammers

Please please don't buy from this company. They kept my bank details and past it on to other companies who ring constantly trying to sell me stuff. These other organizations have access to my bank details already in case I want to buy their rubbish. Not sure if this is legal under data protection. I would have given them 0 star if I could. Nasty vile organisation. STAY AWAY. They should not be trading as they are scammers.

Despicable company

Despicable company. My 90 year old Grandmother bought some cleaning products from them and they signed her up for a subscription to Rewards Club Book Club for £32.99 a month. She might be old but she is sharp as a tack so there is no way signed up for that.
We’ve asked for a Data Subject Access request under GDPR for all the information they hold. Any individual is entitled to all the information any company holds on them with 30 days by law (including recordings of calls).
So if these cowboys have ripped off your elderly relative try the same tactic. It’ll cost them more to administer the request than to refund you.
If they don’t comply, complain to the Information Commissioners Office who can slap them with a fine of up to 4% of their turnover

Buyer beware...they will keep all your information including credit/debit card details and pass them onto their sister companies. The sister companies will phone you about promotions and offer you free vouchers etc on a free trial, after which they will use your card from your previous purchase to take payments for an annual subscription.

My purchase was from Easylife over 12 months ago, yet I was called today about medical cover..

Easylife ... the company with no conscience

Constantly calling about a gardening club, health club etc etc. Say will post out to me a 'privileged' customer and all I have to do is cancel within 2 weeks if I don't want it. All very smooth, scripted and doesn't sound like I'm agreeing to anything but will cost me at least £70 in reality. Complete scam preying on elderly. May well be contrived to be legal but ethical? Not. Created and delivered by those with no conscience. Appalling. Avoid at all costs.

My Easylife Story - not a happy one!

*NOTE* - If you are reviewing Easylife, don't just leave one here, leave one on their 'official' Trustpilot account, where they have a four star rating.

Got a call from my 76 year old dad yesterday. He'd had a letter from 'Rewards Club' telling him he was subscribed to a colouring book club, and if he wanted to end the subscription he needed to contact them by the DAY BEFORE the letter was delivered to cancel! Interesting timing that, eh? He checked his bank account and they'd taken £18.50 for a subscription he knew nothing about.

I quickly googled and found that people who have ordered products from Easylife found themselves signed up to and paying for subscriptions they never knowingly agreed to. Indeed, my parents had ordered some xmas presents from Easylife...

I called the number, talked to Kerry. Jugding from her manner, she was not at all surprised to hear what has happened and was very brusque. At this point I didn't know money had already been taken, so I asked her to check whether they'd been charged already. She said she couldn't check that - laughed and said if I had access to your parents bank account I'd be a millionaire. Right Kerry, so if you had access to my elderly parents bank account, you'd take their money? Sounds about right for the Easylife Ethos.

I've asked for an email so that I could ask for a refund and was given rewardsclubs AT therewardsclub.co.uk - who knows if that's even the right one? There seem to be multiple email address, which in itself is a dubious sign. I emailed and asked them to cancel any and all subscriptions and to refund the money. No response so far. I have advised my parents to block or cancel the card because I cannot trust that the subscription is even cancelled, given the underhand tactics employed by this company.

Honestly, read the other Trustpilot reviews - all awful stories. It's heartbreaking. I actually can't believe this can go on. There are some vulnerable elderly people out there being taken for money for 'products' they have no idea about.
There's also a Which article about them and some threads on Money saving expert, too.

I'm so angry about this kind of thing - do we not value our old people anymore? Are they just there to be milked for money they can't afford to lose? After all, if they're ordering from easy life, they're not exactly rolling in it, are they?

I plan to report this company to trading standards and to repost this review one all social media and anywhere else I can find. I feel like going to the local newspapers. if you have had a similar experience I would advise you to do the same. Sadly, their target audience, older people, don't tend to google companies like the younger end do, and are not on twitter etc, which I presume is how this can keep going on.
But look after your parents and grandparents. And DO NOT give easy life your bank details.

*****
UPDATE - My dad emailed promotions AT therewardsclub.co.uk and
customerservice AT perxsupport.co.uk
telling them that he had not knowingly authorised a payment or subscribed to anything, and demanding that his subscription be cancelled and refunded. He was refunded within days. So do contact them and insist on a refund. That said, he then did receive ANOTHER brochure from these people a few days ago! But hopefully that is just one that was activated before cancellation and this whole thing won't start up again! (He's blocked them with his bank anyway.)

Trading standards allow this Why???

Why on earth do trading standards allow this scam rip off business to run, are they in their back pockets?
if i set up a scam like this it would involve a prison sentence. The slim patches make me laugh, the only way that it would be possible for those to work is if you stuck the patches over your mouth.
they build up peoples hopes selling them a lie. ban them block them, the next time you get a leaflet in your letterbox, put it in a heavy parcel mark it as post collect. a couple of hundred of those in the post may stop them from mailing out so much B.S.

WORST MAIL ORDER COMPANY IN UK

Placed an order and some items were no immediately available for delivery so, instead of sending those which were in stock nothing was done. Several months down the line and still no delivery of any of the items despite continual efforts to contact the company by phone and email with requests to cancel the complete order. Eventually, out of the blue, Hermes delivers a parcel. I refused to take it and had it returned to the company (after 2 further attempts at delivery by Hermes - talk about the blind leading the blind!). Further delays before a full refund was issued however. Very, very poor service and would advise against having anything to do with this company. EASYLIFE? What a joke! If you deal with this company life will be anything but easy,
