Powatechnic's 12v DC in-car ebike chargers
I bought two of Powatechnic's 12v DC in-car ebike chargers (the 42v, 2A version) so that we can recharge our bike batteries off-grid when we're away in our camper. Having now used them once, I can confirm that they worked well and we're very pleased with them. According to our solar charge controller, their current draw reached 15.6A between them, which is slightly higher than the advertised 85w would indicate but they didn't trip or blow anything in the 15A circuit that they were attached to. I found Powatechnic's pre-sales customer services to be responsive and informative, and they were very keen to ensure that the appropriate product was supplied. Despatch and delivery were very prompt. There's not much choice in the marketplace for ebike chargers that run directly off a 12v system, which probably explains the slightly elevated price of this product, but if they prove durable then I will consider these to be well worth it.
