Information provided by various external sources

PowerBlock, Inc. was founded in 1991 by specialty fitness equipment designers who became friends while designing equipment for several companies including Parabody and Cybex. While searching for specific needs in the fitness industry, they were drawn to the large amounts of dumbbells they would encounter in the specialty fitness stores they visited. There had to be a better way of providing fitness enthusiasts with the performance advantage of hand weights without the space and restrictions of old fashioned racks and dumbbells. It was here the idea for PowerBlock was born. After two years of extensive testing, PowerBlock began sales of the newly coined "selectorized dumbbell". Since then, PowerBlock has continued to be the leader in the fitness industry as we constantly strive to out do ourselves in the pursuit of excellence.

Powerblock has incredible customer service

Powerblock has incredible customer service in an era declining customer service. I've had the Urethane dumbells for 13 years. many military moves, lots of use. they were dropped from the back of a truck onto the pavement and snapped some the weights. Not under warranty. Powerblock (thanks Ashley) replaced the broken parts (obviously not normal wear and tear) without a fuss. Incredible. i'm a loyalist for life. Bought a new set of Pro 100s for other house. You can't go wrong with Powerblock!!!

Great service

Great service! I emailed them pictures of my damaged item, then was able to call in and talk to someone directly about my inquiry. They had my issue resolved within half an hour, for very little cost! I would give 6 stars if possible!

This company is terrible. Do not buy

This company is terrible. My order came in damaged beyond use. Most of the plates are bent out of proportion. I have emailed them 7 times and did not get 1 response. If you order these dumbells and they come in damages, sorry you will not be getting help. $700 down the drain

BEWARE: NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, DECLINING QUALITY CONTROL

I had previous Powerblocks with no issues but the newer ones are not made as good and the customer service is non existent.

The rubber handles on my dumbbells got worn so quickly and completely lost their grip making it tough to use. The stickers are also all falling off. These are fairly new dumbbells.

I contacted Powerblock multiple times with no response . The funny thing is I contacted them to see about ordering a new set of handles and they responded that day.

This is a company going downhill fast. Their "warranty" seems reassuring but it's only as good as the company that honors them. I previously recommended Powerblocks to everyone, but can't do so anymore. Bad company.

World's Best Customer Service

PowerBlock doesn't just manufacture the "World's Best Dumbbell." They back it up with what may be the world's best customer service as well! Since 2007, my wife and I have owned and operated a personal training company, Kennedy Fitness, and we've chosen to exclusively use PowerBlock dumbbells both for our clients and for our own personal use at home. They've been nearly flawless, and it's in these rare cases of even minor issues, that PowerBlock's customer service has surpassed all our expectations!

After years of hard use, I called to inquire about a fresh set of decals to refurbish these incredibly durable dumbbells. I was happy to pay for them...but PowerBlock wouldn't hear of it. They sent me a kit that had my dumbbells looking nearly new again. Then after several more years of hard use, the plastic handles of our smaller "sport blocks" (we have the 24 lb and big 90 lb units) finally broke. I again called to inquire about replacement parts...and for just the cost of shipping, I now have new & improved handles!

Before starting our own company, I used to work for Porsche. Working for them I got to know what TRULY world-class customer service is...and I'm hear to tell you, PowerBlock has it! Real people answer your emails and calls. They go above and beyond even my high expectations. They really do make the "World's Best Dumbbell"...and then they stand behind it!

You guys have the best customer service…

You guys have the best customer service department of any company I’ve ever dealt with. Obviously, the products are amazing, but the little things are what matter. It may sound trivial, but I wanted to replace the decals on my U70’s and U90’s. The guys at Powerblock didn’t even hesitate to send me exactly what I needed within a week. Like I said, it may sound trivial, but if they’re that on point for the little things, I can only imagine that any major issues I have will be handled quickly and with very little effort. I’ve been using Powerblocks for over a decade and I could not be happier. Thank you for the great products and excellent customer support.

The weight is off -- it is not a 5 pound handle. It is 7.5 pounds, which offsets the entire thing. They are aware of this when you email them and don't seem to care.

Also, with the Pro Series it's nearly impossible to do overhead lat extensions which I used to be able to do with the classic set because there's a bar between the bottom of the weight, which they appear to strategically avoid showing you in any of the pictures.

Powerblock Cares About Their Customers!

On November 8th my family and I lost everything we owned in the Camp Fire that tore through Paradise California. I can't even begin to explain what that feeling is like. And I have a hard time expressing that lost feeling into words. To get businesses and companies to honor their waranties, or consider helping with loss can be a true hassle.

Through our on going struggles to find housing and replace things lost in the fire I approached Powerblock about the equipment that I had lost. I had ordered Stage 4 Dumbbells and bars from them close to two years ago. My Wife, Son and I have had great times getting healthy lifting and bonding through workouts in our garage, and have sincerely missed those times!

But Jason from the Customer Service Team changed that. He was caring and patient and worked hard for us, and got all of our equipment replaced and now we may be homeless, but we get great joy on being able to workout and lift together again thanks to the caring people of Powerblock! We love our adjustable dumbbells, EZ Bar, Straight bar, Dumbbell rack, and KettleBell Atachment, and know that through superb quality and great customer service we will have them for life! I highly recommend using Powerblock for your needs! - Hops

My college has recently implemented…

My college has recently implemented these for team lifting and they are very awkward and hard to deal with, while they do save space they make lifts which were once easy more difficult because of the strange block shape. Furthermore, the options for weight selections are very strange starting at 12.5 and adding weight on from there meaning we are left with options such as 67.5 and that makes selecting weight very difficult.

Quick draw weights

After 40 years using bars an dumbbells that have to be changed by hand on each side one plate at a time ,it's kinda strange to adjust with just a pin,my work out time has been reduced by about a 1/3.very happy with them,I still have my plates for lifts that you have to hit the floor.like a 1arm snatch.

Purchased the Sport EXP Stage 1 along with the sheet metal stand and power bench. I rate the dumbbells at 5 stars, excellent quality. I rate the sheet metal stand at 4 stars, has more flex than it should for the cost. Finally, I rate the power bench at 4 stars, solidly made however the design allows a bit of wobble side to side when lifting on it, both the seat and the back rest. Also, the design of the feet contribute to the wobbliness when used on carpet. Overall, very usuable and I recommend the system, very compact footprint and a lot of work can be done very quickly with this system.
