Very Disappointing Experience

On the 16/01/25. I agreed to sell my iPhone SE 2020 to Pre Loved Tech for £45
On the 31/01/25I received an email from Preloved Tech confirming my phone had arrived and was being scheduled to be checked. .
On the 04/02/25 I received another email from Preloved Tech to say: "Our checks found the device has moderate signs of use including some wear to the screen as shown in the attached photo" PreLoved Tech downgraded my phone to 'poor' with a new valuation of £30 offered. I declined.
The photo of alleged scratches was very suspicious looking more like deliberate, swirling scribble a child would do rather than scratches from normal use. The scratches are not visible to the naked eye either mine, or the family and friends who have also looked at the phone since its return.
Being retired, my iPhone had only reasonable use being used for calls and SMS only. It was sent to Preloved Tech in its original box complete with a leather, Apple iphone SE case and unused earphones. Under no circumstance would I describe the condition of my phone as being 'poor'.
My experience with PreLoved Tech was a waste of time, definitely not 'quick and easy' and very disappointing.
Not recommended
NB:Preloved Tech did return my phone, as requested, promptly and at their cost.

Thank you for posting your honest review, we do encourage customers to be completely transparent with their feedback as this helps us improve as a business.
Id like to draw some clarity to this review for balance. To be frank, you have been very accurate with your review. We did indeed need to downgrade your device from 'Good' to 'Poor' after our assessment due to the condition of the screen. We do take high resolution images, under test lighting conditions, this is so we can accurately feedback the condition of customer devices should there be any need to adjust pricing.
Due to the scratches, we would have to change the screen in order for the device to be resold at top price, and as a business who sells high quality refurbished equipment this is what we would have done. The cost of the screen would have been £25 + VAT, however to be as fair as possible we downgraded your device by £15 due to the condition as we felt this was fair.
Our service is completely non-committal, and as you can see from our 95% 5-star feedback, the vast majority of customers enjoy a very positive experience. If a customer refuses the regraded price we offer to send their device back within 24 hours at our expense. Which we did on this occasion at our expense.
When a customer requests their devices to be returned, our business loses money. We cover the costs to get your device shipped to us, tested, and shipped back if asked too. Its in our best interest to be open, honest and fair throughout the whole process so we all sales are successful and we have a device to refurbish and resell.
If you take some time to read through our feedback, 95% of customers have an excellent experience, even when sales don't go through. hats because we are a totally transparent business, which is unique in this industry.
I hope this reply has given you some clarity and i can only apologise that on this occasion the sale if your device didn't go how you would have liked. I do hope you will give us another try sometime in the future and good luck selling your device through other avenues.

From quote to cash took about 2 weeks, including my dyas for packing and shipping, and got the price quoted. Simple system, couldn't find the Shipping label on their email but staff sorted that by return, everything just went smoothly.
