STAY AWAY FROM PRESTIGE SELF SERVICE or…

STAY AWAY FROM PRESTIGE SELF SERVICE or make sure your read the instructions carefully because you could end up getting charged $25 for a 6 minute wash!!! And their customer service is unforgiving. I used a self service for the 1st time ever at a Prestige location. I used my credit card and to end the wash there are TWO (2) buttons you must touch....STOP on the function wash wheel and again STOP on the Credit card terminal. I thought I followed the instructions....guess I did not. Charge for 6 minutes should have been $9.00 but I was charged $25...SO BUYER BEWARE and Prestige will not give me a $16 refund! Here is the intial response to my inquiry:

Good afternoon,
Thank you for reaching out to Prestige Car Wash & Gas.
Our self-service bays operate on a “swipe and go” system. When a card is swiped, the wash begins automatically after a few seconds with a starting charge of $6.00. From that point, the system continues to charge based on usage time, $1.50 every extra minute.
To stop the charges completely, both stop functions must be used:
Turning the knob to the “Stop” position to end the wash itself
Pressing the stop button located on the card swipe terminal to end the billing session
If only one of these steps is completed, the system will continue to run and apply charges until it reaches the maximum limit of $25.00, at which point it automatically stops. This is the only way in which you can be charged the full amount.
According to your email, you only completed step one, turning the knob to the “Stop” position, and did not proceed to press the button to stop the charges.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Best, Pamela

Hello,
Thank you for following up.
We understand how this may have been unclear on your first visit. However, due to the clearly posted instructions at the self-service area, we’re unable to offer a refund in this case, as the charge was not the result of an error on our part or a machine malfunction.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding.
Best regards,
Pamela

Car went off tracks!

on 2/12/26 I was going through the car wash in Salem when my car went off the tracks and scratched/dented my front bumper and front right wheel well. After following their incident reporting process and completing an incident report they are ghosting me. It's been 6 weeks!

I’ve been a loyal customer of Prestige…

I’ve been a loyal customer of Prestige Car Wash for years, but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. I signed up for their Diamond VIP Trial, which clearly promised no charges until after the trial period. However, I was charged $49.99 immediately without any warning or notification. When I reached out to customer service, they refused to issue a refund, citing terms that were never communicated during sign-up. This feels like a deceptive and manipulative practice to charge customers unfairly. I expected better from a company I’ve trusted for so long. Proceed with caution if you’re considering their promotions!
