Truly one of the most upsetting holiday experiences we've had

I can't fault Pretty Greek Villas, and Marie Louise is utterly brilliant: responsive, kind and genuinely on our side throughout. The problems we had were entirely with Fisherman's Cottage.

From the moment we walked in there was a strong, damp smell, before the air conditioning had even been switched on. We reported it that evening. My mum ended up sleeping on the sofa and I slept outside, on a holiday we'd paid a lot of money for.

The housekeeper and one of the owners both said they could smell something, but it was put down first to the air conditioning and then to paint. The house was cleaned and aired, we went back, and the smell was still there. We also saw what looked like damp and mould in several places. We had to find somewhere else to stay at short notice and lost six of our seven nights.

We then stayed next door at the owners' other property, Amongst the Olives, and had no problem whatsoever.

The owners denied there was any issue, refused any refund, and offered a free week back at the same house. After what we went through, that was never something we could accept.

Book with Pretty Greek and Marie Louise without hesitation, but think very carefully before booking Fisherman's Cottage.

Where to start. We originally booked our holiday for 2025 but, like all the best laid plans it all went pear shaped when my husband was rushed into hospital for emergency surgery just a month before we were due to fly. But for Pretty Greek Villas this wasn't a problem, they along with the villa owner just said don't worry, come next year instead!
So this year we travelled to Greece and stayed at Villa Apollon in the Peloponnese and boy was it worth the wait.
The villa is excellently appointed and equipped to an amazing standard.
The pool is amazing and there were enough pool toys to keep everyone happy.
It's quite remote and when we went the beach bar hadn't opened for the season, but the half an hour drive to Porto Cheli was easy and there are plenty of supermarkets etc.
Don't miss the Amphitheatre and the Corinth Canal!

We stayed in Fisherman's Cottage. It was decorated so beautifully, no jarring colours and lots or pretty greek touches like tiles and some traditional furniture. The interior was only bettered by the views outside. We saw a full moon rise over Ithaca and every day, we enjoyed the changing seascape from the terrace. There a little beach within walking distance through a pretty wooded area. The service from Pretty Greek Villas was impeccable and very responsive. They sorted out a tiny problem really quickly (internet access) and provided information on local activities, e.g. boat hire and restaurants, which was super helpful.

From the moment we first enquired about renting a house in Spetses to returning home I cannot recommend Pretty Greek Villas enough. Marie-Louise was fantastic throughout. Professional and communication was first class. Nothing was too much trouble. The extra arrangements she made for us were perfect. Highly recommend this company.

A really great service and a truly great house. It was exactly as had been described and perhaps exceeded our expectations in the details.

We’re just back from Spetses where we stayed in Hill Top Villa.

This was our first time using PGV, and so didn’t know what to expect (especially since there aren’t many reviews on here).

We needn’t have worried.

The villa itself was stunning - private, clean and with the most spectacular views.

Marie-Louise was also the most brilliant help throughout the stay - sorting anything we needed help with right away.

We’d highly recommend the company and will certainly use them again.

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Villa Dodona in the Peloponnese. This is the most charming villa and we fell in love with it as soon as we arrived. The views were simply stunning, you can see both the sunrise and the sunset. The pool is perfect, gets the sun all day and yet there is plenty of shade should you need it. I am quite sensitive to the chemicals in swimming pools and had absolutely no issue despite being in and out of the pool the whole holiday.
PGV were brilliant from start to finish and the amazing George guided us into the villa - showed us around and was just a text away for any queries we had about restaurants, beaches or days out. He was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
We hired the boat for a day and had a fabulous skipper who was so much fun. Wakeboarding, Donuts, snorkeling and fishing if you want to. We stopped off at this fantastic fish restaurant - all in it was just a perfect day.
I highly recommend this company - great communication and so refreshing to have a more personal touch. Can't wait to try out some of their other villas .... but then I really do just want to go back to Villa Dodona.

what a wonderful company, PGV have been fantastic from booking to departing. Nothing too much trouble, Marie Louise goes above and beyond, customer service at the very best, We cannot praise or thank her enough, we have booked for next year already!
We had two perfect weeks in The Sound of the Sea❤️ Truly cannot put into words just how magical it is here. Imagine turquoise sea literally on your doorstep..lying in bed listening to the sea, waking up to the sound of the sea…hours spent outside relaxing and soaking up the beautiful surroundings. Words cannot describe how perfect this place is, I almost don’t want to praise it in case it becomes too popular and busy! Our hearts were captured and forever will long to return. Cannot imagine a place as special exists. We will hopefully be returning and loving this blissful piece of heaven on earth until we are too old to travel!

We recently spent 2 weeks staying in Jacaranda House in the Peloponnese. George and the team at PGV were excellent from start to finish. Advice on which properties might be suitable, communications during and after booking, information pack and support during our stay were all first class.

Jacaranda House is an absolutely lovely property, in the middle of an active Greek village, well appointed and with gorgeous gardens. The area was quiet, though with plenty to do and see. The people we met were all very friendly and engaging.

We will book with PGV again!

Pretty Greek Villas run a superb Villa holiday company. Always easy to contact, answer questions quickly and arrange everything so all we had to do was turn up.
Villa Aryiri on Lefkada was wonderful- beautiful house, pool, gardens and easy access into town or the beach.

We had a glorious week at the Captain's Hideaway in Spetses situated just a minute's walk from its own private beach. So peaceful and quiet with great character. Marie-Louise was super helpful at all stages - setting up a water taxi - answering our questions - and being in touch whenever we needed.

We have had such a wonderful time in Lefkada. Villa Aryiri is a gorgeous place to stay. It is so luxurious and the stunning, mature garden provides plenty of much needed shade to relax in when not enjoying the lovely pool. Our daughter is recovering from being unwell and Marie-Louise has provided exceptional support and advice to make sure everything was stress-free before and during our trip. Cannot fault the accommodation and service from PGV. We’ll definitely be booking again!

Simply the best holiday company we have ever used. Nothing too much trouble…wonderful communication from start to finish and our villa was simply sublime.
We were delayed leaving Birmingham and so missed our connection to Athens at Frankfurt. A phone call to Marie Louise was so reassuring and made the whole delay so much less stressful. We should have arrived at around 1700hrs but due to a further delay at Frankfurt and a tired driver (!) we rocked up at 2am… to be greeted by a smiling and incredibly helpful George… who showed us what we needed to know… gave us his number in case of any issues and had been out and purchased supper for us from a local Taverna (delicious Moussaka) in case we were hungry after such a long trip… simply amazing!!
Nothing could have prepared us for the enchanting view of the stunning garden/pool area as we stepped thru the gate into the walled garden for the first time… unforgettable. The house was a delight.. spacious, traditional and beautifully furnished .. you can tell the owner loves this house and we felt privileged to be able to stay here.
Marie Louise & George were constantly available via WhatsApp for queries..& very knowledgeable about the area. A later checkout was accommodated with no issues at all.
Customer service does not seem to be a priority for many companies these days… Pretty Greek Villas absolutely buck that trend. You will feel like you are holidaying at a friends house.. it feels as though they really care about your experience and I cannot rate them highly enough.

The PGV Team provide excellent service, locating the right Villa for us, helping with all transport and local knowledge and all support whilst on location. But most importantly live up to their name. Our villa in Spetses was characterful, beautiful and tranquil. Our 2nd experience with them and we'll definitely book with them again.

We just returned from Spetses - a great villa holiday, fantastic friendly island, and PGV were brilliant throughout. In particular Marie-Louise gave us an unexpected and excetional service throughout, taking care of all our special requests, taxis, boat bookings and restaurants. Thank you, we will be back.

We have just returned from a gorgeous holiday at Villa Psaraki, Kefalonia, booked through Pretty Greek Villas. We found the service to be really excellent from beginning to end and their selection of villas throughout Greece is fantastic. We will definitely book through them again.

We came back recently from a wonderful holiday at Villa Sunset on Kefalonia - a piece of heaven on earth! This is the 5th holiday we have booked with Pretty Greek Villas and we cannot fault the service. Everything ran smoothly from the car hire to the nice welcome we got from Maria, and the basket of goodies that was left for us. Perfect - aside from the weather - and we'll be back again!

On 26th January I replied to an email where I was informed that “ it would be 50% of the Euro 4500” going towards a week’s holiday I wanted to book in September 2023, using money from our failed 2020 holiday. We were repaid one week out of a four week holiday where 2/3 of the holiday had been paid for!
To date I have not had any response to
my email asking why I couldn’t have the total 4,500 Euros towards my new booking. Shocking behaviour after what everyone around the world suffered in 2020/21. We are in NZ and nothing much we can do from here! Would avoid this company completely as this is just like stealing.

Tried to book a villa through Pretty Greek villas - I was sent an invoice and I was just about to complete my flight booking for 14 people when they came back to say they wanted an additional £750 for the villa. I had the booking confirmed and on hold for three days at which point they should have informed us that they had increased the price. What a very dishonest way to try to force additional money out of their clients. If I am quoted a price and receive an invoice for this price that is what I expect to pay!
