We recently had a Stannah 600 Sofia…

We recently had a Stannah 600 Sofia stairlift installed by P R King & Sons. While we were apprehensive in the beginning we can now say that the whole experience from initial consultations and showroom demonstrations by Vin to Mathew organizing the home installation to Louis who carried out the main installation assisted by Cameron, demonstrated a very high level of professionalism.
At all times they kept in mind the best interests of the client.
We cannot speak highly enough of the excellent work by the whole team we had contact with at P R King & Sons and accordingly would 100% recommend them to others.

Great experience

All the staff have been very helpful and patient with all our questions, which included a trip to the display centre to actually try out the products.
My wife likes plenty of options, which they discussed at length until she was happy to make her final choices. Vin, the sales person, was helpful and informative and made sure we were happy with our purchase. So the whole experience was simple and enjoyable. The stairlift works as promised and has made my wife's life a lot easier, so I am pleased we bought this particular one from this company.

Absolutely Appalling and Taken Advantage of…

My experience with PR King & Sons has been extremely disappointing. Every time there is an issue with my lift, it takes them weeks to send a technician, despite lifts being an essential service that should have 24-hour support. Unfortunately, PR King & Sons only operates during business hours (Monday to Friday), and if you get stuck outside of these hours, their only advice is to call the fire brigade.

Their service fees are also excessive—charging a minimum of $450 per visit, even if the technician spends only five minutes on-site. I had my lift serviced in November, yet January, it had completely stopped working. It has now been out of service for over two months, leaving me without access to key areas of my home, including the kitchen, dining, living space, and balcony. I have an extremely rare Neuromuscular condition (Dynamin 2 Associated Centronuclear Myopathy) and rely on use of an electric wheelchair and ventilation via tracheostomy 24/7. My physical disability is considered very severe. PR King and Sons are aware of this. Despite repeated communication, PR King & Sons has failed to provide a timely resolution.

The Queensland State Manager has been particularly difficult to deal with. Instead of addressing my concerns, he has chosen to dismiss my feedback, demonstrating a complete lack of customer service skills. His approach has left me feeling taken advantage of and discriminated against. As a senior representative of the company, his handling of this situation has placed me, and likely other customers, in a highly vulnerable position.

I'm also of the opinion that Queensland State manager has full understanding that PR King and Sons is the only company in Queensland with a contract with Garaventa (the lift manufacturer). Meaning whilst he has suggested i contact another lift company, they're unable to help.

I strongly advise anyone considering installing a lift in their home to avoid PR King & Sons. The ongoing frustration, lack of urgency, and poor customer service make them an unreliable choice. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and reviews the Queensland State managers position or, at the very least, ensures he undergoes proper customer service training.

Our records indicate that before your November service, we hadn't been contacted for maintenance on your lift for approximately 10 years after installation. Regular maintenance is crucial for any lift system to function reliably, especially for residential installations that support essential mobility needs.

Response Times

When you first contacted us, our team prioritised your call and attended the same day. We prioritise our service agreement customers for scheduling, which may affect appointment availability for non-contract calls.

24-Hour Support

We offer 24-hour emergency callout services to all customers. We understand this is an essential service, but this service does carry additional charges due to technician overtime rates, which is standard practice in the industry. We always communicate these rates upfront before booking.

Current Situation

We had scheduled a service appointment to address your lift issues. However, following communications from you that our team found concerning, with non-factual accounts of customer interaction and staff cyberbullying, we decided that it was appropriate to cancel your appointment and not work directly with you moving forward.

P. R. King & Sons remains committed to providing reliable lift maintenance services to all our customers, with a particular understanding of the essential nature of these systems for those with mobility needs. However, communications that are disrespectful and untruthful are not acceptable.

Great service in a very tight timeframe.

Timing was of the essence and Michael was just amazing - professional and competent and went that extra yard to ensure delivery and installation in time for my husband’s release from hospital after a very serious illness. The installation team was very professional too - on time, no hassles and full explanation given for operation/troubleshooting. Highly recommended, and this was for an installation to a spiral stair which I had been told was “impossible” by many other companies.
A huge thank you - stairlift working perfectly.

Excellent staff and service

We had a rep come to our house we were very impressed with him. We then went to the show room to try the different models. Because the chair we wanted need adapting we had to wait for parts to come in from England and it was holiday time so it took a while. But we had a loan chair installed and eventually our chair was installed. We cannot speak to highly of the staff from office to installers. We love our chair.
. We are very happy with our purchase and service.
