I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with Procartech and want to warn others to be cautious before visiting this garage.

About a week ago, I visited their garage to check if it was possible to install my dashcam in my car. Their technician confirmed that it was possible, mentioning only that the vehicle might display a “battery draining” warning when using parking mode. Based on this confirmation, I booked an installation appointment for today.

Upon arrival, they began the installation and quoted €160 for 2 hours of work. After 2 hours, a technician finally informed me that the dashcam could not be installed on my car because it was “not supported.” This is something that could have been easily checked within minutes by simply connecting it to the fuse box or 12V port during my initial visit.

Instead, they suggested an unreasonable solution: buying an extra battery for the dashcam (claiming PHEV/hybrid cars can’t support it) and paying another ~€440 with ~12 hours of labor. This felt like a complete upsell attempt rather than a genuine solution. When I refused, they even tried to charge an extra hour for dismantling their unfinished work.

I left feeling scammed and frustrated. This is poor service and a lack of technical competence. If they had been honest and tested compatibility during my first visit, this entire situation and unnecessary charges could have been avoided.

My advice: Be very careful before dealing with this garage.

As discussed during your first appointment, you brought in a dashcam that was purchased elsewhere and requested us to install it. At that time, we clearly informed you that third-party products—especially those requiring a constant power supply for parking mode—can cause error messages or compatibility issues in hybrid and PHEV vehicles. We also explained that any installation using customer-supplied products is entirely at your own risk, and that we cannot take responsibility for the functionality of such products. This was agreed upon before any work started.

During the installation, it became clear that your vehicle could not support your dashcam’s parking mode without triggering battery drain warnings. This is a known limitation in many PHEV models. As a possible workaround, we suggested an additional battery pack—a common and industry-standard solution—which you declined.

Please understand that our technicians still spent significant time properly and carefully starting the installation process. As agreed in advance, our responsibility was limited to the physical installation, not the product’s compatibility or performance. Since you chose to stop the installation partway through, time was also required to safely dismantle the partially installed components.

We always aim to be transparent and professional with our customers, and we regret that you feel otherwise. However, we stand by the work performed and the information and options provided throughout your visit.

Disappointing Experience with Car Maintenance

We bought a car there last year, Ford Ka. They claimed they had changed the oil and filter, and we also paid for new brake pads. However, it turned out that the oil and filter hadn’t been changed for a long time. When we took the car to a different garage, they found that the filter was old and rusty. We brought this up with the seller, and they reimbursed us for the oil and filter change.

Now, we just had the brake pads checked, and it’s the same story. Our garage confirmed there is no way they were replaced. It seems like they claim to perform maintenance on the car before selling it, but in reality, the work isn’t done. This has never happened to us before—such a strange situation. They seemed nice, but this is completely unacceptable.

Het is nu ondertussen ongeveer 8 maanden geleden dat u de auto bij ons heeft aangeschaft. Eerder hebben wij contact gehad over de onderhoud en hebben wij dat afgerond en opgelost, nu 8 maanden later krijgen wij helaas bericht over de remblokken, Remblokken zijn slijtage onderdelen, dat is zeker mogelijk dat die na een tijd slijten en eventueel vervangen moeten worden.

We willen graag een passende oplossing bieden. Kunt u ons laten weten wanneer u beschikbaar bent om dit te bespreken? We hechten veel waarde aan transparantie en klanttevredenheid en willen dit zo goed mogelijk rechtzetten.
