I have had a policy through…

I have had a policy through progressive. I wanted to add a classic 1995 truck only as any vehicle on my property needs to be registered due to deed restrictions. Originally I was quoted 24$ less in a 6 month period for my policy with my daily driver and homeowners insurance. At the same time I decided to add my BF on whose name sounds Hispanic. The woman on the phone assured me this would not change my policy. Once she added him she told me the quotes I had previously were deleted and then reran it saying it would now cost 84$ more? Then when I removed him from the policy it was quoting me 131$ more for 6 months? I feel this is discrimination. The fact I attempted to add a Hispanic driver has somehow increased my policy for a barely used truck without even full coverage. They would not honor the initial quote stating it was “deleted”.

A couple of months ago…

A couple of months ago I got progressive and my first payment was $200.00 and my automatic payment was $123.90. Today I received a letter that my monthly payment would be$354.00 I am disabled and living in extreme poverty. I only get a measly $1282.00 in my SSDI. I don’t know what to do about this. But tomorrow I am going to have to cancel my progressive insurance

Many years loyalty means nothing to Progressive

My wife was a Platinum level customer since 2007. No accidents, no tickets & no claims. The Hartford beat their rate substantially and when asked if they could match they replied with "No". 19 years a customer does not mean anything to Progressive. So, they lost the home insurance also. Check out Hartford for your next rate quote👍🏻

I had to call into progressive about policy change

I had to call into progressive insurance to confirm some information and spoke with Chantel i hope i spelled this correctly she was wonderful not only did she assist in helping me with my policy she also just spoke with me like a friend I was able to vent alittle to her just about my health and my parents and she just sat there and let me talk she was wonderful. You need more people like Chantel working for progressive she acted like she cared about what I had to say and that's great... if I could give her 20 stars I would.

AFTER 2-3 HOURS ON THE PHONE AFTER THEY HAD ME PAY AND SIGN UP FOR THE AUTO INS PORTION 1ST, THEY CHANGED THE HOMEOWNERS QUOTE FROM 1500 A YEAR TO 2600 A YEAR! I WOULDN'T HAVE PAID FOR/SIGNED UP FOR THE AUTO IF I KNEW THE HOMEOWNERS QUOTE YOU ARE INITIALLY GIVEN IS NOT GUARANTEED. NOW I AM WAITING FOR OVER $800 TO BE REFUNDED TO MY ACCOUNT AT THEIR LEISURE. 1 STAR!!!!!

Longtime customer treated poorly

Longtime customer. Canceled a policy and reinstated a new policy. A refund was due to me. I have followed up multiple times. Accounting finally said there was a "glitch" and would process it. Still no refund and they cant figure it out. Would not issue a refund check as I requested. I canceled my policy and will never do business with them again.

Progressive is the most nefarious, fraudulent, and dishonest insurance

Progressive is the most nefarious, fraudulent, and dishonest insurance company. Their underwriters are incredibly stupid and ignorant, lacking any common sense whatsoever.
Without your authorization, they add whatever they want to your policy and charge you exorbitant amounts. They do this a month after giving you what they claim is the lowest quote, and you trust them. Then, without warning, they charge you five times the quoted amount the following month. This happened to me; my policy went from $290 to $1,300 for just one car liability, even though I had no issues.

And even if I had, it's blatant robbery by Progressive. Stay away from this garbage company. Don't even give them the chance to get a quote.

Absolutely terrible experience with…

Absolutely terrible experience with Progressive.
I’ve been waiting for help with my claim since March 16th, and it’s been nothing but frustration. The representative assigned to my case is out of town from March 20–25, which already leaves me stuck with no direct support.
I did everything I was supposed to do — uploaded the crash damage through the link provided, and even received a text saying my repair estimate was ready. The problem? I can’t even access it because your app keeps saying I entered the wrong information.
Trying to get help is a nightmare. When I call, I’m forced through your AI system, which is completely useless. The one time I managed to reach a real person, they were no help at all.
This is unacceptable. I pay for insurance specifically for situations like this, and instead I’m stuck with no answers and no way to move forward with getting my car repaired. Your reliance on AI instead of actual customer support is failing your customers.
Fix your system and make it possible for people to get real help when they need it.

Progressive is an extremely…

Progressive is an extremely irresponsible insurance company. I've been in three accidents in last 6 years, all of which were the other party's fault. The first time, after Progressive took my case, they did almost nothing to help me. I had to handle all communication with the other party's insurance company myself. In the end, the other party covered my repair costs and rental car expenses. The second time, Progressive assured me they would actively help. I gave them all my repair and rental car receipts, but they only managed to recover the repair costs--they didn't even try to get the rental car fees covered. Their excuse? I didn't have rental car coverage. Seriously? It was the other party's fault, so the costs should have been covered by the other party's insurance. The third time, which happened recently, was even worse. Again, the other party was at fault, but this time Progressive told me I had to pay the deductible myself, claiming the other party's insurance refused to accept liability. How absurd is that? I had zero fault in the accident, yet I was expected to pay part of the repair costs.
I agree with the other victims. If there were a zero score option, I'd definitely choose it.
So, if you don't want to deal with any trouble in future accidents, please stay away from Progressive. They are neither professional nor responsible. Finally, I hope that no matter which insurance company you choose, you always stay safe on the road.

Hated them from the beginning

Hated them from the beginning! When i got my new car I switched to progressive and was paying 300$ a month. After 2 months they charged me 900$. When I asked why they said it was because they added my little brothers car onto my insurance policy because we lived in the same house. When I told them he had that car for 2 years before I got my car and proved he had Geico they never gave me my money back. Then in 2023 I got unlucky and pulled over a lot. They raised the price and I didn’t complain. Then in 2025 they dropped me with no explanation and sent a letter to my old address even though I changed my address with them. Even the app said I was still reinstated and paid in full. I didn’t find out until I got pulled over that I had no insurance. When I called they said they dropped me because I got too many tickets in a short amount of time. Which made no sense since the last time I got a ticket was in 2023 so why would they wait 2 years to drop me. All in all I should’ve stayed with Geico when I got my new car and never had switched to this terrible insurance company.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with Progressive Insurance after my recent accident where my car was declared a total loss.

Initially, I was given a settlement amount verbally/through communication, and based on that, I proceeded with the required steps and documentation. However, after submitting the paperwork, the final amount was unexpectedly changed.

This lack of consistency and transparency is extremely frustrating, especially during an already stressful situation like an accident. Customers rely on the accuracy of information provided by insurance representatives, and changing the payout after commitment is not acceptable.

I expected better communication and integrity in the process. I would advise others to get everything clearly documented before proceeding.

I was insured with Progressive for a…

I was insured with Progressive for a very short time period; their underwriting was awful. I was insuring 2 vehicles in a state where my husband had a driver's license and rented a home. I gave them his driver's license and home address, they continued to ask for proof of garaging. They wanted him to have a mortgage and a W-2, he was living with my son and was not currently working but looking for work. They kept telling me that if I could not provide these items, they would cancel my policy. Enough threats, I said you cannot force him to work and get a mortgage. So we found another insurance company and had zero issues with insuring in the state where my husband was residing.

Has zero respect for its customers

Pray that you never need tech support — they do not provide it. Insurance agents are awful tech support, too. Switched to another company who cares about its customers. Wish I could leave negative stars.

Horrible company

Horrible company. They sold a policy that basically gave me no coverage. When I spoke them about it they had no remorse. They did not show any concern as to why their agent would sell me a lemon. Policy canceled and so is any future business done with these people.
