We do not directly control download speeds on the free mirrors. Delivery is handled through Cloudflare’s regional infrastructure, which means speed and stability depend on your geographic location, your internet provider, and the availability of Cloudflare servers in your region.
If a download slows down or stops, this is typically related to local network conditions, ISP throttling, or regional routing, not the file itself.
For users experiencing persistent issues with Cloudflare delivery, the Payloadz premium option is hosted separately via Amazon infrastructure and may provide a more stable alternative depending on your region.

They have a totally trash download system, you can use the paid or free one for downloading, but there is a limit to it, if you exceed the limit, you will be temporarily blocked

The limits are not there to frustrate users, but to prevent automated abuse and to keep the free download option sustainable for everyone. Without rate limits, the infrastructure costs would become unsustainable very quickly.
Temporary blocks only trigger when download limits are exceeded within a short period of time. This applies equally to protect the system from excessive or automated traffic.
ProMods remains fully available for free. The paid option simply removes waiting times and limits for users who prefer faster access.
Problems of installing and updating
In terms of the Map 5 stars but the process of getting it only one star because my computer isn't allowing me to download and update promods and even telling me that I can't download the files because I have gone over the limit of 2 a time but once I have downloaded it I wait until its done so if anyone is reading this from the Promods team fix your website if you're going to give us the ability to fast download allow us to download it for free and allow us to download more than one and easier to work and whenever SCS update the game then don't make us go through the whole stressful process again and uninstall and re-install it but rather have the map automatically update themselves or have a menu to update them so you don’t have to uninstall and re-install everytime a new update comes out.

If you are seeing a “download limit” message, it means our system has detected multiple or rapid download attempts within a short period. The limits are there to prevent automated abuse and to keep the free option sustainable for millions of users. They are not designed to punish legitimate users.
We do not have control over how SCS Software structures game updates. When ETS2 updates, core game files often change, which requires a compatible ProMods version. That is why manual updating is necessary. Automatic updates are unfortunately not possible within the current ETS2 mod system.
ProMods remains completely free. The optional paid download simply removes waiting times and limits for users who prefer convenience. The map itself is never locked behind payment.
We understand updates can feel repetitive, but compatibility with a constantly evolving base game requires that process.

I think that is a SCAM. Not Fair. 1 Star is completely Justified!

A map mod for everyone
Been supporting and using Promods for nearly 6 years now, and so far, not a lot of complaints. Installation has always been fairly straight forward as long as you follow their instructions for installation. And even if you'd encounter any issues, it seems like now most of them can be solved on their forums. There are some minor fixes that still have to be made here and there, but the team has had a pretty good reputation in quickly taking care of these for the next update. Overall, quite happy with what they offer, and definitely the go-to map mod for its reliability, quality and strong support.

Not being taken seriously
There were multiple problems with downloading the software (the paid version) and when I requested help they didnt even go into the problem itself but just said oh wow thats weird and then they closed the ticket

We take support requests seriously, especially for paid downloads. If your ticket was closed without a proper resolution, that is not the experience we aim to provide.
In many cases, download issues are related to browser settings, antivirus interference, expired links, or local network restrictions. When we respond that something appears unusual, it is usually because the system is not showing an error on our side.
If you are still experiencing problems, please reply to the original ticket or open a new one with your order number and as much detail as possible. We are happy to investigate properly and ensure you receive what you paid for.
People are complaining about nothing
Everybody is complaining about the fact that you have to pay 1 dollar to get to download the latest update easily. Well okay. But what you don't understand is the amount of time and effort these people put into the project. This is a very minor way to pay them back for what they do, so I wouldn't complain. They've been doing it since ETS2 came out and they deserve to receive some money for there work, otherwise they wouldn't exist anymore and the quality of the mod wouldn't be so great. So instead of complaining, see it from another perspective.
You guys should be glad there's a free option!
If I ever play ETS2 again and I want ProMods, I won't hesitate to support these people. As a European it's less than 1 euro for me, so why would I care?

An “Access Denied” message is usually triggered by our automated security systems. This can happen due to VPN usage, repeated rapid download attempts, firewall or browser extensions, or IP addresses that have been temporarily flagged for unusual traffic.
These protections are in place to prevent abuse and keep the free download option available for everyone.
If you continue to receive the error, we recommend disabling VPNs, trying a different browser, clearing cache, or contacting support with details so we can check your specific case.
The system is not designed to block legitimate users, but to protect the project from automated misuse.

There is no “scam” involved. ProMods is completely free to use. The paid option is not a purchase of the mod itself, but a one-time convenience fee for faster download delivery for that specific release.
Each update generates significant bandwidth and infrastructure costs, which is why the premium option applies per release rather than as a lifetime payment. The map itself is never locked behind payment.
If a free link shows as expired or temporarily unavailable, it is usually due to high traffic or mirror limits, not because downloads are disabled. Millions of users successfully download each release using both options.
We understand that the model may not suit everyone, but everything is clearly explained before purchase, and the free option remains available at all times.

A 4-hour download for a 1.7GB file is not typical for the premium option. The paid download is delivered via separate infrastructure and normally provides significantly higher speeds.
Download speed can still be affected by your local internet connection, ISP routing, regional congestion, firewall/antivirus scanning, or Wi-Fi stability. These factors are outside of our control.
If you experienced unusually slow speeds, please contact support with your order details so we can review the specific case.
The premium option is intended to provide convenience and reliability, and if something did not perform as expected, we are happy to investigate.
Great work, but the easy way is a paid one
They really do a lot of good work and I don't mind paying for it, because I know, that there must be a lot of work in it and many hours of troubleshooting and so on, but I think it is bs that I "have" to pay for a single download every time a new update is out.
I know it's kind of petty of me, because it's only 1$ every time and there are a free alternative, but 1$ many times, makes a lot of money in the end if you don't wan't to look at several advertisements.
I just bought an update a few days back, because I didn't know there was an update some time back - I never got an email about, but now today there is a new update. So I already again have to pay for the update.
It is a small amount of money, and I know the money is worth it, but I would have been more pleased, if I just bought a lifetime update service that was more expensive, than these lifetime update charges, which will end up being more expensive in the end.

There might have been 3 months between releases of updates, but then it would be nice, if Promods made sure their email system works.
Since I made this review I've gotten 3-4 mails about the update I've already installed, so I guess it might have just been a one time error.

The paid option is a method of convenience and absolutely voluntary. There is no obligation to pay if you don't want to, but you will have to go through a bit more effort.
The amount of bandwidth we generate is astronomical and we would be bankrupt if we didn't use this method to sponsor our infrastructure. Between release 2.20 and 2.25 there were at least three months so it's quite late that you updated to the previous version.
