Installation of Cintec Anchors

ProTen were recommend to me by friend who’s a structural engineering, following some advise on how best to sort some cracks in the end wall of my 1900 terraced house on a busy road.

Everyone I delt with was professional and courteous. I was given everything I needed in the correspondence. Andy and Mark who carried the work out kept me informed of what was happening, were considerate of neighbours and left the site tidy each night. The work was completed to a high standard and looks better than I’d hoped even.

Avoid Proten Services at All Costs

Avoid Proten Services at All Costs – Unreliable and Unprofessional

I had one of the worst experiences with Protea and strongly advise against using this company. I scheduled an appointment for a damp and timber report at 11 AM on a Wednesday. To confirm, I even sent a message to the surveyor at 10:06 AM, letting him know I would be at the property on time. He read my message, so I assumed everything was set.

I drove 30 minutes from Newcastle to the property, only to be left waiting. I messaged the surveyor again, asking him to knock when he arrived—no response. By 11:20 AM, I called him directly, and he casually told me he was “just getting into the car” and would call me back. He never did.

Instead, someone named Kelly from the company called me, claiming that they had never booked my appointment. I explained that I had spoken to the surveyor a week prior, and we both agreed on the date and time. Despite my messages being read and my time being completely wasted, Kelly offered no apology and showed zero concern for the inconvenience caused.

The worst part? I am 37 weeks pregnant, exhausted, and had to make the unnecessary trip just because this company is completely unprofessional and disorganized. No communication, no accountability, no respect for customers’ time.

⚠️ Do NOT use Proten Services. They are unreliable, disorganized, and have terrible customer service. They will waste your time without a second thought.

Well chuffed.

What a fantastic job done by proten,the removal of black mould from our bay window, I would never have thought it could have been done. But the expert workman made a fantastic job of it,well done AUSTIN thanks for a professional job .

Stressful and disappointing

Unfortunately, this company carries out works that are not finished well, the workmanship is poor and there is lack of engagement when the damp returns (they charge for another survey when things with their work don't go to plan, which is ridiculous), trying to push on a purchase of a product for condensation when the damp is clearly an ingress from poorly dampproofed walls and not condensation. The company doesn't take responsibility and doesn't honour their 10 year guarantee either. Best avoided, dealing with them is stressful and wasteful.

⁩Do not use

I have had Pro Ten Services out to my house on 2 occasions to fix a damp issue in my house.
The first time they came round they told us that we had an issue with high water under our house and advised that we should get a PIV unit put in under the floor of the house to circulate air. This was put in after weeks of mithering after we had paid and we were hoping our damp issue would be sorted.
On top of that we also got the outside of the house repointed to stop any ingress damp that could have also been present.
We decorated the downstairs of our house after that and a year down the line noticed signs of damp on quite a few of the walls.
I asked Pro Ten to come back to let us know what went wrong. They came and then told us that we had rising damp and would need need a full damp course injected around the house. We did this and I decided not to redecorate until we knew it has resolved the issue. I again got in touch with Proten due to continued issues. They tried to make me pay a survey fee for them to come out and check their own work. I disputed this and they came out took some samples and found that 2 walls still had rising damp issues. There was also another wall that had ingress issues and we had condensation damp in our porch.
They wrote yet another report and told me that we needed mould paint for the condensation damp and a air brick for our porch but for them to cover the rising damp I would need to pay £90 for a sample of the wall to be sent off.
I decided to get another company in to check the work.
The new company have advised that we need plaster removing to brick and a new Damp course put in on 4 walls.

I have on numerous occasions requested information on how to put a complaint in with ProTen and not been given the information. I have asked for information on the company that supplied the guarentee and had nothing back as well.

This is a bad company, take your business elsewhere.
I have spent thousands of pounds to put right the work that they said I needed mould paint for! as well as having to redocorate after the work they completed did not work.

Ashley visited my home to complete the…

Ashley visited my home to complete the works for some damp. Very helpful man, helped move furniture as to heavy for myself, tidied up after himself & left no mess for me to deal with! Happy with the results, hopefully stays like this!

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from Steve who attended my house I had a air test done that shows dry rot in the bathroom and kitchen after arriving an hour late ,excuse was a dentists appointment didn't phone ahead to sat was going to be late.upon arriving complained the council should've been here at 8.30 to remove flooring then set about giving attitude saying he doesn't know why he's even here again didn't even listen when I told him about the leak in bathroom then bounced on bathroom floor and said all these properties are old and all like it.then left spoke to council workers then left.pointless waste of our time and council workers.

Rubbish

Rubbish company done some work in my house never used dust sheets, caused leaks in the radiator pipes by bending them out of the way, first attempt at the plastering was Rubbish, I showed this work to plasterers that I know and there all said that it was awful and should never of been left like that, 2nd attempt at plastering was better but then sent a plasterer to fit skirting boards he had 4 lengths of skirting to fit got to the house for 8.30 am left at 4.30pm took all day and the skirting boards are crap I am going to have to replace them myself as the corners don't meet up then the same tradesman attempted to take my battery charger out of the house and he had it in the van it was only when my partner confronted him and I rang the company to complain and got the tradesman swearing at me that the company made him leave my charger at my house but I had to provide information that it was my charger, I was told that there would provide me with the same information still haven't got this information from them that was in August. The tradesman left rubble and plaster in the front garden aswell

Good and bad

I'm giving the actual job itself 5 stars, it was executed by Mark who was brilliant and he allowed me to learn a lot about the process of tanking a cellar as well.

I'm giving the after care service zero stars. I had a couple of concerns that weren't major but it was impossible to get someone to sort them out. I was basically told that the chap in question (commercial director) was too busy around the country as if that was an acceptable reason. So very disappointed to be honest, I'm guessing the issues would have been addressed if I had retained some money!

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking, I made complaints, to then have the member of staff who I complained about ring me and have a go at me down the phone, yes using swear words, I am unsure if they think this is ok because I am female but its not!. Not only that but then to have the joiner rip of electrics from the wall because he couldn't be bothered to measure to cut out parts of a skirting board is beyond lazy and poor work. Leaving wires exposed and dangerous with a child in the house!!. I have complained and yet not even had a reply. Avoid at all costs. I had no choice due to it being a rented property. But I will be taking this further. Unprofessional staff members shoddy workmanship, shall I go on. I have plenty of photos, I wish I could post them.

Work at my parents home.

I contacted Pro Ten to inspect my parents home. I had to coordinate work to be done with my brother visiting from the USA. I needed absolute certainty about the start date. Tommy Burden was great and kept in touch throughout the process as we took our parents away for a couple of days. He was reliable, trust worthy and very helpful with all aspects of the work completed. I would highly recommend him and this company.

Been told you don't have a damp problem…

Been told you don't have a damp problem buy some one looking at photos when you're sat in a house without a kitchen because they can't be bothered is pathetic

Quality service, start to finish.

I was buying a house and after previously being in a property which suffered with damp issues I wanted to put my mind at ease and not find any hidden surprises. I contacted Proten services who came out very quickly. The surveyor was Jeremy Johnson who collected the keys from estate agents and went to the address. The same day I was provided with a very detailed report including photographs which was easy to understand. I was then provided with recommendations and the cost to rectify any issues which I felt were very reasonably priced. I still had concerns with the property so I was fortunate to speak to Jeremy directly who explained the process of what needed to be done. He was professional, friendly and interested.
I would strongly recommend using this company if you are moving into a property. I used the report and managed to reduce the sale price to have work carried out.
Top class company, cannot fault them at all.

Highly recommend.

Every stage of the process was handled efficiently and professionally. The surveyor was knowledgeable and explained things well. I sent a number of emails with various queries which were answered quickly and clearly. The actual work was done quickly and with the minimum of disruption and both Tony and Aaron were great. I would have no hesitation in recommending Proten to others.

If I could leave a 1 star I would!

This company is a complete joke and running illegally. I am a first time buyer and when buying the property I was told there was a guarantee for the damp proofing course which was taken out in Aug 2009. I'd had a home buyers report done and I was told there was a high level of damp in the areas where the course was treated but I was told that this can sometimes happen and I would just need to get the company to come out again to redo the areas in question. When calling the Proten to firstly find out if the guarantee was still valid ie the term they told me that they couldn't tell me anything for I wasn't the property owner and I would have to pay £219 to get it put in my name. I bought the house knowing that I had the guarantee, when calling to get the guarantee put into my name (which took them over 2 weeks to get in touch) they told me that I would need another 4 pieces of information to have anybody to come out and look at the work they had done or have it re done. I couldn't quite believe my ears. They should of told me that before I signed the papers so that I could of asked the previous owners for the information. I now can't get in touch with the previous owners or the property for this information but in my eyes who keeps the estimate, inspection report, quotation, sales invoice and sketch plans? When they think the guarantee would be enough. I asked if they had a copy of this that they could send me but they said that it isn't there responsibility to give me that information. This company is a ripe off company with damp proofing which obviously doesn't work nor provides a very good customer services. Not only were they trying to get more money out of me just to put the guarantee that isn't valid (without information they didn't tell me I needed) but not giving me paperwork which is obviously now mine being the property owner which this breaks gdpr and data protection, but also breaking the rules of the sales of goods act. This will be taken to my solicitors and the news papers as I know few editors. Despicable company.

Excellent service

3 years after initial damp proof work, ProTen returned as a goodwill gesture to treat a wall previously unreachable due to water pipes blocking access. Toni provided excellent service in scheduling around our very part-time office hours. Ryan's work onsite was very professional and efficient. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Fantastic Service

The service from booking a survey with ProTen through to discussing the feedback was fantastic. I was on a tight turnaround for the report and Paula in the admin team was able to contact Jeremy to turn this around quickly. The report came back within 24hours.
Upon receipt of the report I was able to speak to the surveyor Jeremy to go through the information in more detail. I would highly recommend this company.
